When I was younger, I used to believe in reencarnation. It was my hope of inmmortality. That was my faith. Now, sober and sensible. I recognize this body as my only existence. This is the only life that know of. This very moment means my whole life. That's it. So what I should care for the rest?.

Around the time I was reading the Bhagavad Gita I was experimenting with hallucinogens...and one time I went into what "they" called "drug induced psychosis"...this is the diagnosis at the hospital when I finally came to...anyway during this time I believe I used a portion of my brain that humans don't normally use...I lived many lives sequentially during this time...and the interesting thing was that there was a pattern...I started out being born, living an excrutiating life, dying horribly and being born again, life's a bit better, death's not as harsh and so on until I was being born, having a happy existence, learning from my past lives and death was coming as a sigh...the pattern was in the shape of a pyramid and my lives were the most painful at the bottom of the pyramid and progressed until at the tip it was euphoric and then I would be shunted back down to the bottom of the pyramid again...the pyramid was part of a wheel comprised of billions of other pyramids...I don't know how much my readings influenced that "trip" but I felt that there was a great deal of truth in it...I don't share this story because people think I'm crazy just as you may...point being I believe in reincarnation....your piece is very well written.
