There are many types of orbs and shapes of orbs. The bigger Orbs are what? I was wondering if the litle red orbs are smaller children . I hear Orbs are energy. How much energy do they supply? My understanding is that orbs are not ghosts but are energy from someone that has died . Just curious if anyone knows how much energy an orb produces?

Ok so from the info I've read, orb energy is not really something that anybody has been able to calculate. It involves quantam physics and black hole theory. Like black holes and dark matter they are still trying to figure them out. Some seem to even "collect" energy as they go. Do a webserch on "ord energy output" and you will get a number of websites with info on the science behind them. Some are kinda hoaky but some have a lot of valuable info.

The only orbs I have ever seen are the ones that have posted into this forum. They are of varying sizes, and I am sure if you hit up a search you may indeed find these photographs :)

Are you talking about orbs in photography or energy balls. Most orbs in photography are artifacts of the camera itself.

In my opinion orbs don't give off an electromagnetic energy of sorts, but in fact could be 'ghosts'; although I don't think they could be captured on any ol' 'normal' camera.

It's hard to comment on orbs captured on camera.

I have only seen orbs once....about twenty or so moving on a wall, like a slide show.

To me they are shapes/pictures made and directed by those in Spirit, there is usually a good reason why they appear.

As for how much energy, well I have no idea....and the type of energy ?

I personally think there is only one kind of energy, I don't call it by any name, it just is.

i have taken many of pics that have orbs in them i cleaned my lens thinking something on it and took more pics and still got orbs a friend of mine who works for a paranormal research group claims orbs are caused by gasses and are nothing but i feel the orb is some spirit energy

Mostly, the energy from the orbs is complacent energy. The bigger the orb seems to be for lack of better terms, residual residue from a haunting.

Such as with this pic of the infamous Lalaurie manson in New Orleans. Very residual energies surrounding this mansion, seems to always have orbs no matter what.

If you take a look, the yellowish orb is the one I am pointing out. The abnormality would be the spiral within the orb. Describe why you think this circle of light is or is not an orb, based on how much energy you think this individual orb has to create it...For purpose of answsering the threads question.

Now, the legend has it that a young slave girl lost her life while jumping from the balcony where the orb is at. After Lalaurie chased her with a whip across to about that same spot.

Based on energy creating orbs, this is a little girl, and not an adult. Draw your own conclusions based on that example.

I do believe that orbs are ghosts but I have also read that orbs can be fairies as well... sorry had to throw a spanner in there.

I think the energy of the orb will depend on the strength of the energy of the deceased person. I don't believe it is something that can be truly measured.

i believe that the yellowish orb with spiral in it is a stronger energy like in life some people are stronger and in spirit i believe the same bigger brighter stronger lighter less strong less energy

Well , since enrgy can not be created nor destroyed only changed . I allways believed orbs to be the visual display of a being tring to get your attention .
I'VE ALLWAYS WONDERED if animals who were misstreated wern't the most visious poltergiests . I would like to think they could get there revenge in the end .

i understand the red colored orbs are usually dust. real orbs tend to be very light pastel colors. i have a good pic. check this out. its at my job.

I don't believe that the smaller, red orbs are children. The different colors mean different things, I have read. It is most likely the spiritual shape the spirit is in, and perhaps emotion, like with Reiki and aura reading.

In our ghost hunts we have gotten many different colors! =)

What do the colors of orbs mean?

No one truly knows the answer to that questions, but there are a lot of people who have different beliefs. Some people believe that the different colored orbs mean different things. Here are some opinions of the 'meanings or descriptions' of the different orb colors from others:

White is an Angelic Being. High frequency, protection and shielding.

Red means stress or restlessness.

Clear Red means high energy.

Deep Red could mean the person/spirit passed in a violent manner, anger.

Peach means the ability to comfort.

Orange means healing energy.

Gold means free flowing energy and tolerance.

Yellow means caution.

Yellow green mean psychic growth.

Green means healing, fertility.

Turquoise means amusement, neutrality.

Light Blue means tranquility.

Pilot Light Blue means shielding.

Dark Blue means shielding, shyness, survivor instinct.

Lavender means at peace with God.

Purple means stored information.

Violet means seeking spiritual.

Silver means telekinetic power.

Brown means a connection to the earth.

Some say the colors represent the manner of passing the soul experienced, however this is something that we will never really know. Again, we feel that it is up to you to make your own conclusion on what your belief is regarding orbs.

I would understand the yellow colour meaning caution, since the little slave girl did fall to her death after being chased by Madame Lalaurie.

One night in 1991 I saw a light blue orb of light. It faded in & out slightly...like a color pool or opening to an abyss in the sky.

yeah...orbs can be many things....maybe other beings from other dimensions...maybe aliens from our dimensions..maybe visitors of the future or past..maybe creatures made of energy...maybe..ghosts...maybe a combination....or...perhaps sometimes it's nothing at all...and i would have to say, that the energy levels would vary from each of these orbs...depending on the source and mass, or what ever...:) I'm into quantum physics too, and...maybe it can in fact explain some of this...quantum physics does not dispute the surreal...it in fact holds it up high..on a trophy board. ;)

Why would an orb feel the need to be any other color than pure white or just invisible?

One of the leading theories concerning what orbs are and the one that I lean towards the most is that they are not the spirit at all. The orb is the energy being transferred from a source (i.e. powerlines, heat energy, batteries, people, etc) to the spirit so they can manifest. This may not even be a conscious thing the spirit is doing, just a natural way they get their energy. This would explain why the orbs are round balls. According to the laws of Physics energy being transferring like that would assume is natural shape of a sphere. This theory can also be tied into the EMF readings we get during spirit activity.

There has been a similar post to this involving the presence of orbs. And afer everyone viewed the provided photos, the general consensus is that the orbs that are seen are just reflections of light, and dust within the camera.

I wish those observing orbs would try taking more pictures at different angles, to minimize the impact of flash glare and also try to take photos with and without the flash to eliminate potential particle reflections.

I could imagine that a ghost as a disenbodied spirit would continue to fade, but apparitions could focus their energy upon "materializing" while a geist interacts with items in an environment. I could also imagine the possessive spirits would need to "expend"
a good deal of energy to possess someone. The disappation ghost could then account for the imagined explaination of why ghost are not popping up every where like stray cats.

I don't think that the size matters, only how much energy it contains but I don't think there is anyway to really measure it.

I've heard that the color represents the emotional state of the spirit/orb, and the transparency represents how strong the energy is.

I hate to say it but some orbs people see are just dust. Other yea are true, but unless you have a video tape you can't really tell whats a true orb or not.

And even on video tape, it could be due to dust or light reflections within the lens assembly or from other reflections in the room.

Using evidence to prove the existance of something that is perceived to not exist is tough because you then have to convience the skeptic that the evidence is for real.

I found a lot of EVP like things are good to use, along with someone in tune with that side of them. Some one that does not get scared that easy, at my dads house out in the country there are a lot of orbs and stuff. We try to take pictures but fail, so sometimes we will just go out side and watch them float around. Very lovely to see.

Orbs generally produce electro magnetic energy; not the same type of energy we generally think about, it can be measured and it varies form one orb to another, but last I heard color really doesn't effect the amount of magnatism around the object.

The issue is with their use of a flash at night, everything you see in the photo could have been caused by dust, reflections, and/or humidity.

The issue with trying to use a photo as evidence of a spirit is that you will not get any skeptics to believe you since there are too many plausible explainations for the anomilies in the photos.

I don't think it is the kind of energy that could be measured or weighed. I think the energy depends on the soul or spirit that it represents. The older, your younger the more energy... Just my thoughts.

The camera was clean so I think it was Orbs. Im not sure what to say about this. When I looked at the pic I got a shiver down my back.

Well , at one time I was more or less open to idea of "orbs" , being spirits. Not so much anymore , at least by any examples I have seen.

Most of these are in fact DUST PARTICALS , either on the camers lense or floating in the air . How do I know this you ask?

I take pictures ALL the time, I have most turn up normal, others have orby thingys in them. THAT my dears IS dust. I could get all mushy and say it is a ghost from the past bla, bla.

At least THESE pictures are KNOWN dust particals kicked up by the subject who's pictures is being taken.

Now are these particals "Moving" , because of WHY? Dust moves? Are they moving in the photo , say AFTER it was taken? I know I clearly do not see them while taking the picture , unless the ground was stirred. I use THESE photos as a direct example. THIS can and does happen out iin the open.

Are they a litte bug flying , ya know those things can be small , and refract light under the right conditions.

By the way, I said once before, bugs could not be a factor in a orb, if the outside temp was around -20 below -0 , or any other temperature restricting their mobility or life cycle. I still adhear to that statment.

I don't believe the size of the orb denotes children or adult spirits. I personally don't think most of the orbs folks see are spirits.

I personally question whether they exist. I don't think the size would matter if they did. Because some believe that orbs are lost spirits trying to find there way. And a spirit may it be man, woman, or child is still a spirit. I don't know though. I really havn't read a lot, except what i just mentioned.

I have some recent ones that i will post in my port of one sitting near my cat in the rec room of our house. I'd have to think that it depending on where the orb comes from or how old it is will depend on the amount of energy given off.

orbs are energy,they can be big or small,i feel this way about it sense it feeds off energy you the person can give it energy it grows by what you give it,to me they are spirits that are trapped and want to be set free

I think how much energy an orb gives off depends on how old the person was when he or she passed away. Like maybe an older person's orb would be dimmer, and maybe a young adult's would be kind of bright.

I know that orbs of energy can be created, I have fet such energy, I am not able to creat them myself, and have no idea how they come about, but I have felt them in my hand

don't think any one really know the extent of orb energies as yet. most "experts" can't even decide if they are single entity or a gathering of several. the only for sure is they are very real part of this existance.

Take a picture at night in a cemetery. They show up in the photo's a lot. if there was no flashlights or a road near by, then I am sorry but there is no explaining those balls of light everywhere. Creepy

bigger the orb, the bigger the energy. what decides on how much energy an orb has though?
