Is there a geographical place or are our myths of the abstract nature?
Some do believe that there is a real physical place that is Hell, and that it is in the centre of the Earth.
Some feel it is nothing more than a state of mind.Still others believe that Hell and Heaven are right here on and around earth, only in another dimension.
I guess it just depends on what you believe. But I doubt the "other place",if you mean Heaven, would be boring..
OH, does bowing down and worshipping your creator for all eternity...hey this is starting to sound like a thralls' wet dream. Okay I see your point. But like Nietze,
I think what doesnt kill you can only make you stronger.
I think I would rather bow down and worship my creator for all eternity than cook in a sulfur stew for eternity at the feet of some wannabe god.
Yes, I do believe that Hell is an actual place and no, I don't believe it's at the center of the Earth. I also believe there is an actual Lake of Fire where Satan and his minions will be cast at the very end.
For me there is no debate on these things. It just is.
I wonder if Heaven is a spiritual place where your souls transends after your physical body has gone. The other maybe your soul being reborn in a new body here on earth to relive the things you did wrong in the first life, a sort of kharma.
"OH, does bowing down and worshipping your creator for all eternity...hey this is starting to sound like a thralls' wet dream."
Um,not sure what youre talking about or who you are addressing this to,but I never mentioned that I believed eternity consisted of that.to me,heaven is where we go,whether its a state of mind or a real place and become everything we have always dreamed of becoming. Its all what we believe for now.We wont know for sure until our day comes.
BioZom..you believe in the lake of fire..the earths core is molten iron,so they could be one in the same? It sortof makes sense .
True Oceanne yet, I believe both Hell and the Lake of Fire are spiritual places, just like Heaven. They are places designed for the spirit body not the physical body.
Oh, I forgot...the Lake of Fire is described as a lake of burning sulfur not iron.
That makes sense..one thing though,we do have plenty of Sulpher and brimstone under this crust though.
I have noticed a lot of correlations when it came to the underworld and what not.Let me propose this to you Zom..while freedom of the soul is our highest goal, for some to get into heaven..wouldnt being thrown down into the burning core of a planet..physical as it is, be the ultimate prison in a sense?
since Job asked to go to hell, if it was a real place of tourment and suffering why would he ask that?
I mean didn't he had enough suffering and tourment already?
So to me the research I had done in the past was that the word Hell comes from a word in latin which is Enferno which is also meaning in french enfer (hell) and that is also mention in the saci bible and some other ancient manuscripts and documents, the work itself only means being "locked up" plus the words used that were later translate to hell was hades and sheol, there is many proof of the word not being from the original scriptures, ( i studied them for some years) and also miss used often.
Also just a quick note if you go to this page:
http://www.ecclesia.org/truth/hell.html
you can see some of the books/scriptures who have the word hell and how many times it was inserted it in, also you can then logically see that the word itself is a miss understanding of its original meaning; being locked up
locked up sleeping in death.
That is just my opinion nothing more take or not its your right :)
From your studies,CM..and since it indicates being locked up in death, could that perhaps mean that hell is here on earth? Or should I say IN it?
Hell is a little town in Norway.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell,_Norway
Heaven and Hell are right here on earth..its just whatever you make it and when you are dead you are dead.
I've heard Sheol or hell is in the middle of the earth somewhere
" But this forum is an arena, a place where people come together to share their ideas and beliefs and should not be offended when they are challenged. "
You got that right OOS!! If we let ourselves get offended in here, then we will just be in forum Hell...Yet,I found myself in forum heaven, due to great posting by yourself and others .
I just wanted to make sure it was me you were talking to,as I was confused somewhat about the "worshiping " comment, and how it related to me, because that isnt my idea of heaven,as I stated.
But anyway,I would have to agree with you in that Hell is a state of mind, absolutely. However, if we go by the idea that "thoughts are things",well,it could have manifested in a sense ,as a lake of molten fire. What better a place than the centre of earth.?
I also think we create our heaven and hell everyday in life by the things we do.
And I am sorry for jumping to conclusions-Oceanne. Yet, I think as far as putting a geographical abode on hell springs from the evolution ar rather devolution of thought forms over cyclical time.
There was a time before patriarchal reigeon that also had a concept of Hell. Before the dualities separated to such monstrous proportions. Yet I think these people who had such a strong relationship with the earth also put geo to Hell probably from watching the sun.
Location isn't even a concern of mine. The real concern is, if there is actually a Hell as described in scripture...am I going there? Unfortunately, I believe so.
I hope not BioZ.
But really? When I think about it,and read what others have posted,I cant help but think about how,if we truly have souls ,and those souls are "designed" to exist in the erethreal world as well as the physical and needing both to obtain whatever it is we are supposed to obtain... where would there exist a more awful or horrific place of punishment than something that is within a physical realm?Which went on forever..and ever.
Whew,long sentence.
To me, even more horrific than fire and eternal damnation, is being totally and completely out of the presence of God. Which if you think about it, is what hell actually is.
The greatest thing about Hell, whether it is, or isn't a geological location, isn that there will be no christians there. Dante had much to do with "drafting" Hell.
Zombie your hell is my heaven, the being out of touch with the Dictator that lords himself over humanity with a "serve as a slave or burn ultimatum." In essence I would hope somewhere other than heaven exists a little discomfort for freedom from the tyrant. As for Satan he is weak, the book of Job makes it clear that Satan is merely the tool wielded by the true enemy of mankind as Lucifer needed permission before he could do anything, which points out that killing job's kids, his lively hood and everything else was basically a dick measuring contest, sure sucked for those kids.
"IF" God did create everything (including man), then He would in fact be "Lord" as you say.
Your argument is that of the pot to the potter screaming, "You have no right to break me!"
The true enemy of man? Never mind the fact that Job was restored by God twice over.
I wasnt reffering just to job his 30 kids were still dead not to mention that god has many times participated in Mass Murder Sodom and Gamora for example, then ordered the genocide of the giants for not moving from the land they had lived in for over 100 years women and children included(Duet. 4)
It's not considered murder or genocide IF he did create everything. Humans would be his possessions to do with as he pleases.
I think you're looking at it from the human killing human perspective.
That is of course your opinion, hence why your hell is my heaven and vice versa.
Well New York City (regardless of opinion) is still New York City.
Hell Is a place in Astral where people who do harm against astral go. its another demetion that you can go to through Astral
In my opinion, Hell is here on earth. The way people treat each other in nasty ways; serial killers and child molesters; people who torture animals for fun; those who suck all of others' money; the rape and destruction of the planet...etc.
Why create and/or muse on what might be, when it's right here already?
Zombie my last post was a subtle agree to disagree statement mainly because our points of view are so drastically different on this topic that there was no point to continue further more New York City? By your definition Hell was the absence of god hence pretty much paradise to me which would equal heaven in my mind. Weather wise I was not debating so the whole new york is new york statement is a really stupid one. Now lets get back to agreeing to disagree unless you would like to make another statement in response to this one but honestly bro its not gonna convince me.
Oh, my bad. I thought this forum was for debate. I guess we're all here to agree or agree to disagree with one another.
Thank you, all is clear now.
And just for future reference, your first post in this thread was in direct response to one of mine. If you don't want me to respond to your posts, don't direct yours at me.
If Hell were a state of mind then one of the worst would be considering that freewill is just a pleasant illusion. That like the Kansas song: "All we are is dust in the wind" is true.
Zombie you are misunderstanding me bud. Im fine with debating however there is no common ground in our views to even have a debate on. So if you wish to have a debate that will go in circles and not go anywhere thats fine I just think its a waste of time and only the first sentence was in direct response to you hence the period.
Well It's a belief that there even is a heaven or a hell we've never seen these places but just because we've never seen these places doesn't mean they don't exist perhaps it is a state of mind. but maybe it's a realm that can only be experienced and seen once you have detached from your mortal flesh. assuming that you are destined by what you believe that you are too end up there. it's like air we can't see it but we have been lead to believe that it exists. so what ever you believe to be true...there for is true to you! I don't think there is a mapped location or an address for hell I do however think that those who believe in the existence of hell also in the back of their mind believe in the existence of Heaven because reason tells them there much be balance.
I however see things differently. I take things from a scientific view point. The earth seems to have a way of regenerating itself replenishing and recycling things and so when we are given back to the earth (burial) we are being recycled and we will soon turn into something new nothing isn't ever destroyed it merely changes form.

I think hell is right among us because that would make it more real and more painful for those in it. To see the ones you love doing what you have done that put you in hell and not being able to save them. I also think that it is a hell of your own making so everyone hell is different.
Just like if there is a heaven it is supposed to be perfect every person idea of perfect is different

That's a cool answer. New York City being hell. Is that why they made the movie, Little Nicky?
Sorry if I'm off topic. >.>
I believe people created good and bad. What you do here is what counts. They shouldn't worry about the afterlife so much. Use good and bad as guidelines. That's all.
If you should find yourself in a hell, then make the best of it.
It is my belief that Satan was given his own planet by God and will use this planet as follows:
"In the Bible Codes, Planet X is found in Ezekiel 41:11. The Codes reveal that Planet X is the former home of Lucifer. Planet X is just an alias for the real name, Planet Rahab.
In Isaiah 14:9 it says in regards to the Antichrist, "Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.”
Isaiah is talking about the entrance of the Antichrist onto the world scene. Will his entrance be marked with the entrance of Planet X at around the same time? They appear to be related.
I thought it remarkable that the term Planet X would have the term Hell running straight beside it.
It is returning to Earth in these last days. Why? For thousands of years it has been carrying millions of the angels who joined in Lucifer's rebellion against God. It is a hollow planet, and it has been their home and prison. In these last days Yahweh will allow their release and they will come to earth to help Lucifer gain worldwide control as the Antichrist.
The codes reveal Planet X is a habitation of evil and wickedness, a prison, a stray and errant planet that is returning to earth to rule and cohabitate with mankind. These beings are not friendly but hostile Draconians and Annunaki who will help enslave mankind, enforcing Satan's rule.
Who are the inhabitants of Planet X? The Draconians and the Annunaki. The Draconians are also known as Dracos or Dragons. The Annunaki are known as Watchers. The Watchers are cannibals and are 7 to 8 feet tall, whereas the Dragons can very in height. The Watchers are tall, blond with blue eyes and human looking. The dragons are black, scaley, have wings on their backs, and are grotesque and ugly.
These are the beings, along with the scaly lizard reptilians and the greys that will roam and rule the earth with Satan."

I don't imagine Hell to be a "place" persay. I would think it's more like a state of being.. The state that you are in. You are in Hell... You are not literally being burned, but take your most miserably moment of your life and multiply that by a million, and that will be you 24/7.
It doesn't make sense for either Heaven or Hell to be a physical place.
If God/Angels/Satan/Demons are not tangible at all times like we are and like our world is, then why would their places of origin be physical? Wouldn't it mimic their states as we mimic ours?
Also, if Heaven/Hell is a physical place, that would mean the soul has to be physical. It's not, so how can the place they go be physical? It would have to be built to house them if what we've heard in sunday school is acceptable material to reference.
Possibly different dementions or another galaxy ? If it were here on earth we would have found it already..
Hell is used to keep people fearful and in control. If they're gullible to actually believe this, the christian preachers can conytol their very lives.
Heaven is another dimension that is part of our world, they can see us, hear us, interact with us, but we can't see, hear or interact with them. Where do you think the "ghost" stories come from, it is the spirits that have come from the dimension to interact with us.
Hell is the same, it is another dimension here in our world, they can see us, hear us, and interact with us, but we can't with them. That is where the "demonic" issue comes into play, it is the spirits coming out of the dimension, only not all of them are "demonic", the use of the word "demonic" is generalized because it involves Hell, anything that goes to Hell has to be "demonic".
The concept of heaven and hell are nothing more than childrens bedtime stories to make them conform to doing what the adults wanted. nothing more and nothing less. the children grew up and told their kids and so on. over time the creation of them was lost as is everything when you pass it verbally thousands of times. if either were a physical "real" place we would need our bodies to go with us like the ancient egyptians believed. funny thing if "hell" was at the center of the earth... why do we bury the dead in the ground? to put them closer to hell?
It would make some kind of sense if Hell was at the center of the Earth. I mean really, when we bury dead humans, we are returning them from where they came from right?
LOL
I was joking rather but...if humans did crawl out of the Earth...where else could we have come from? I mean, if Hell is at the center of the Earth...
Took me some time to read all the respond to this thread. Let imagine that Hell exist and after some "bad" people die, they go there for an eternity, to fry or what ever they do in that place. The question will be, where is hell. Out of space, in the center of the earth, In the North pole. So, there are so many places, that the humans think that hell is, and at the same time, they are all wrong. Hell, is part of You and You are part of hell. If you psychoanalyze all the religions that exist in our planet, you will notice that all commit something call: SIN, and if that is the case, we are all, going to hell. There are religion that treat women worse then garbage, and at the same time, women follow such of religion. The reason, is because the influence of hell in our mind. My two cents to the subject.
I do not personally believe there is a hell... or a heaven for that matter. Nor do I really believe in "sin". It is a bit hard to explain. We are all animals and have animal instincts a lot of which are inhibited by laws. But most of the bad things that are done if we accepted our animal nature would be dealt with just like in animal packs. I know that is a bit off subject. I also feel that we as humans accept religion because we like to think there is something better than us. We also fear just ending. Just think if everyone thought there was nothing after we died. what would happen? I would say complete anarchy. Is there a afterlife... maybe. But we have no proof.
I apologize for the ADD randomness lol
Personally, I believe that Hell never existed, and is used to control and terrify otherwise under-educated or impressionable people, who live on the words of over zealous vicars, and religious fanatics.
It's emotional manipulation, at it's worse, and those who use it as a method of religious preaching should be asahamed.
