Have you seen Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter yet? What did you think of it? Would you get it on DVD?
I went and saw it last week and i thought it was a excellent movie and i would definitely buy it on Dvd.

I saw it when it opened in theaters. It was very good, although I believe the collapse of the wooden bridge and running along the top of a train before it falls into the gorge was a bit much over the top...especially for a man that is noted to have most likely suffered from Marfan's Syndrome. It was quite the stretch for ole Abe. ;)
I thought this topic was going to be about the myth that surrounds this story. A friend of mine over this side of the pond said it was based on fact. Now I have searched on the internet to find out more about this and not been very successful..anyone point me in the right direction....
As far as I have been able to ascertain no evidence has been produced to show this as fact.
Personal or professional reviews. I am more inclined to respect personal reviews because a lot of really great films have gotten bad professional reviews in the past. As for the whole "based in fact" question. No just no it was based off of a fictional book.
I haven't seen the film yet, but the trailers look good. I too tend to ignore reviews as they are very biased and depended on the reviews taste, perspective etc
My advice is go and see the film, then decide if you want it permanently:) I hadn't heard about the film being based on fact, possibly a rumor to stir up interest?
Thank you, I stand to win a tenner because of this : )
I thought I knew quiet alot about Vamps and this did throw me a little, as I hadn't heard of it before....I didn't even know about the comics. I must have missed that on the Data base.
I do quiet like the idea of your 16th President being an axe welding ninja though!
I have not seen the film yet, and will see it soon.
I of course, liked the book more than the film. But my husband, who hasn't read the book, enjoyed the movie. I don't think I'd buy it though.
Look at it this way if the film does well in theaters then who knows what's next.
Thomas Jefferson, Sasquatch Killer...
Or perhaps Galileo, Sea Serpent Slayer.
Loved the book. I enjoy how real parts/facts of history our intertwined with the fiction of Abe the hunter. Hope the movie is as good. Will go see for myself soon.
I read the book and then went to see the movie. Both were good but of course I liked the book better.
The only thing I wonder...if a person had not read the book I wondered if they really understood what was happening at the end of the movie... the book sure explained it alot better....
waiting for the book to be in our local library and havent seen the movie heard both were excellent but the book did cover more history on the president's early years then the movie
I haven't read the book but the movie was great after reading these posts i think ill read the book as well.
i havent seen it yet...altho i was told they made the south out to be the bad guys.
(being southern, id have to disagree lol)
~W~
I loved them both!!!
Any way I do believe the book was slightly better but that is only because it has much more detail over a longer period of time.
In general, books are better than the films that evolve from them.
And I'm waiting for the movie to get to cable.
(I hate going to theaters, as most people get on my damn nerves).
I haven't seen the movie yet but would like to. I've read the book and it's fantastic, so I'm eager to see how well they translated it to the big screen. I'm a little concerned that it'll take itself too seriously based on the previews I've seen, but I'll just have to find that out for myself.
Lol at Isis, hey I don't at least.. and that's saying something...lol
To keep on topic, I really want to watch the film, also reading others comments I should read the book first.
...and I thought all Southerners were bad..yikes..*runs away*
Just going by the films...lol
I honestly have not seen it yet but i cannot wait to get the chance soon as it comes out on dvd
