Does anyone here who is a Vampire think that darkness gives them peace or tranquility? or is it the opposite effect and being out in the sunshine makes you feel stronger? I'd like to know your thoughts..

Am not a vampire but got some medical probs with the sun.As for darkness,I spend a lot of time in the dark to think and reflect.Darkness helps me think and most of the time inspires me:)

I am not a Vamp.. But my I like the dark it is the only time I can feel truely alone, the silence the blanket that it wraps you in, light won't let you hide, it forces you to look at yourself,

i love the night life... the sun just gives me a headache.... but i like it at night cuz you dont have as much noise...

My skin is so pale I reflect light...lol..seriously I do..also it is thin and reacts badly to the Sunlight..(I get blisters within minutes...need to use factor 50 sunblock or I look like a bubbly Lobster..lol)...the darkness is therefore a more friendly thing for me...I am only stressed in the sunshine because of what it does to my skin.... oh yes and my eyes react too slowly to light changes which is painful sometimes and so being in the shade or darker places are better for me all round...YAY!!!

Plus spooking people in the darkness with my white skin that glows in moonlight make me giggle...muahahahaha.... ~grins~

Try it .....go outside on a full moon and look at your hands...they will be kinda glowy and bluish..tres brilliant...YAY!!!

Complete darkness alone...scares me. lol. I'm scared of the dark. But if I'm not alone, and I have a significant other with me, then it would be kind of comforting. ^_^ And if it's darkness outside with the stars and moon shining down on me, it would be extremely comforting just to look up at the night sky. =)

To me darkness does give me that peacefull state of mind. In some ways it sedates you causing your thoughts to slow some till you become relaxed. Then again there are others that start to tense up in the dark guess thats due to fear of not knowing whats there. So yeah i prefer the dark over the sun for many purpouses.

well I feel more at home in the dark it makes me feel strong has something to do with the moon light defernt kinda of uv and all the sounds of the childern of the night

i dont get scared of the dark, and i do find comfort in being with someone while in candle light or darkness, even amunkst the stars and moon.

i dont like intense sunlight, though i do sit out in it sometimes and let my mind wonder.

I feel safer in darkness for so many reasons. My favorite reason though is that darkness seems to cradle and hold me in its arms. The ones walking under street lights are more of a target, even to other people, muggers mostly. Keep your eyes adjusted to darkness more than others, and you are safer.

I prefer the places even the muggers don't wander, again they are comforted by light to a point.

Just my two cents.

How funny it would be for a vampire with nightblindness. I can't laugh. I've found years are catching up with me and once I've tripped. GET ME MY CANE! LOL

I feel at home in the dark. The sunlight burns too much. In the sun I am always cranky and a complete bitch but in the darkness I feel much more clam and able to think clearly. Not to mention I can see a hell of alot better in the dark than I can in the light..

I have always felt that darkness is my comfort. The day is just so chaotic with to many people hurring about trying to get things done. I find the darkness to be more of a time where I can relax in the silence. See the beauty that most people miss out on because they don't take the time to admire what comes with the darkness. The shadows, the moon, the stars, and the sounds of the night time. I like to walk at night espically in cemeteries and wooded areas. Its very peaceful.

I think the darkness comforts me... I can't really explain it, I just love seeing black all around or moonlit nights.

usually vamps cant resist the light, but i can stand it. sure it bothers me after a while, but its nice at first

darkness is just really comforting to me, i love the night life. i really dont care for the sun cuz its bad for you gives you cancer and tans are burns so why would i want my whole body to be a burn.

darkness is very peaceful....while most ppl are sleeping.....less clutter and noise.....the air seems cleaner......
but sunlight is invigorating.....it brings life..
so I would say I require both

i like the night for its peace, its a shame that i don't get to enjoy it much, for i work all day..but on the same side i love the warmth i get from the sun

the light makes me tired... so i dont really care for the day.... but the cool night air keeps me on my toes.... so i love the night....

Personally I feel at peace in the dark. There is a tranquility at night that cannot be found during the day.

This has always bothered me since I have problems with sun exposure, but as a hotography student, I have developed a deep appreciation of light. Although I do prefer to work and think at night, I could survive well without some light. they always go together because i cannot have one without the other. but yes, darkness is more peaceful.

Darkness is more my territory... it doesnt necessarily give me peace and tranquility.. it gives me power.. the only reason I say that is because the sun seems to drain my energy. I am scared of the sun..due to a vacation in cabo one year.. scared the bejezzus outta me I had even got my scalp burnt..and thats where I have hair..lol well it was braided... I got so burnt in such a short amount of time I refuse to stay out in it anymore than I have to. If I get out in the sun.. it is usually morning or dusk.. never mid day.. and it has to be cold in my environment.. like the car or my office.. my office has no windows and thats the way I like it anyway..

I prefer the nighttime over day any time, but I'm not bothered by the sun either, there are times I think I might be a child of both. But I lean towards the night more and more over the past year.

I'm in the same boat as yourdarkness. I hate being alone in the dark. I'm a huge chicken shit. I'm ok as long as there is someone in the house with me, but if I"m alone I hear every single sound. Creeps me out.

I believe i was ALWAYS comfortable with the Dark.. after all, we spent 9 months alone in darkness, why should we fear/be uncomfortable around it? I mean, i seriously am making plans to uninstall the lighting in my Enclave.. even though most of them are dim, they arent dim enough for me and my sister.. and several of the other vampires we live with agree.

As i have always been comfortable with darkness, i am uncomfortable around intense sunshine, heat, and lighting, and i try to do my work, ie, studying, writing, online, etc by candlelight.

All in all, Darkness is my friend. *thinks of the Simon and Garf song and laughs*

i am a vampire in the sense i drink blood. and yes darkness and moon light are much more soothing and i find them more beautiful than sunlight, it is tooo bright and it hurts my eyes, plus its is tooo hot in the sun light

im not a vampire....but the dark does make me feel more tranquill and "at home" and i hate the sun cuz i burn easy and burning hurts lol

Well, you cant really have one without the other, but too much sunshine can make me feel uncomfortable, as I burn easily, and the night can sometimes be a lonely place... as I sais, i think you need both to get through.

Darkness does give me a sense of peace. I feel more at ease at nighttime, I accomplish more in the darkness, I am more awake in the darkness, so the answer to your thread is yes, i am a better person at night.

hahahahahahaha.... every body is pretty much saying.... i like the sun for day time things but i like the night for peace, calmness and tranquility... hahahahaha

In my line of work the night is my friend. I do my best work at night, for me daylight is for relaxation and peace.

Since I was naturally born with a dark side........my darkness is my inner peace & tranquility..........I'm most content with my darkness.

Well, I've got hypersensitive retinas, so bright lights always mess me up (I even catch myself wearing sunglasses while driving at night b/c of headlights). But no, other than the fact that its really darn bright outside, I don't really avoid the sunlight that much.
Darkness does offer some sense of tranquility for me, though, because it gives me the sense of being alone, thus allowing me to divulge in my own thoughts for a little bit. But that's just my 2 cents. :)

i like thwe dark better than the sun because darkness is colder and more peaceful. I sit outside every night ;)

i like darkness, easier to hide if you need to, easy to see where the people with all the flash lights are, and since most animals are staying in one spot if your out at night looking for people its easier bc everything around them is quiet and they make alot of noise....night is the best time to play a game like bloody murder (kinda like marco polo but you play close to midnight and your not in water)

I cant stand bright lights and sunlight. Way too bright for me. The dark to me is peaceful and welcoming. Its a place for me to be able to relax and collect my thoughts. Its also the easiest time for me to make my music.

I can also function better at night. I have a very hard time going out during the day and taking care of what needs to be taken care of. Thank God I have a night job and we live in a day and age of convenient 24 hour stores. Shopping is so much easier in the middle of the night when all other normal people are at home in bed
