WIILY WONKA WILLY WONKA THE AMAZING CHOCLATER.....IF U LIKE CHARLIE AND CHOCLATE FACTORY AN CANT WAIT 4 THE NEW 1 RESPOND!!!!!!!!!
umpaloompas are FREAKY!!!! they give me the heebiejeebies! and i dont scare easily! *shivers* no thanks! first one freaked me out, CAN NOT DEAL with another ONE.
Seems to me like someone needs to lay off the chocolate and the sugar a bit ... geesh what's with the caps????
I loved Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Fatory the Orginal from 1971 ... I think it was very well made ... I'm a little leary of this new movie ... I think Johnny Depp looks a little freakish as Willy Wonka ... and the previews I have seen, seem to take alot away from the orginal story and make it tooooooo modern ...
I think Depp will make the movie funny. The way he looks and acts in the movie from what I have seen in the previews, makes me want to see it. Cannot wait.
i want to see it i think it would be cool n creapy i cant waight
ITS GUNNA BE HORRIBLE!!!! i mean the umpa loompas dont even look like umpaloompas they look like munchkin people form the wizard of oz!!!!!!
i really want to see this one it looks good. the orignal one is really good i think that will always be the best.
hay know manny i love the wizard of oz and they are so cute.....that being siad i want to see this movie looks funny as hell to me
I haven't seen it, but from what bits I have seen, I dont think I want to. I dont think what they are trying to make money out of is what anyone read.
I think they should have left a good thing alone. The only reason I would watch it is if it had Gene Wilder or some of the original actors in it.

I haven't seen original, but I can't wait to see this one!
Hey, Burton & Depp.. It must be brilliant!
The original was fantastic, I will admit, and I adored it as a child... the problem with redoing something is that its usually someone wanting to add their own ideas, which veyr often shatter the illusion for many others.
i loved the original but the new one is going to kick ass too
Think of it this way, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl isn't like any of it. The movie's are never exactly like the books.

yes...gene wilder is my hero....see not evil hear no evil..
Tim Burton and Johnny Depp together again! I think it's gonna be a little out there, but in a good way.
To be honest...It looks a little scary to me. I mean Johnny Depp is always goregous, but In this movie, ehh he's kinda creepy lookin. O_o
If I do se this movie it's definetly gunna be while I'm high for sure LoL...
i love the original ,something about orginals they are always better to me
ARGGGGGGGG IM going to have night mares NOW.. HOLY HELL ladylovecat DID YOU have to post the creepy orange things?!?!!? *goes off to find something to kill the image burned into her mind*
i was leery at first...LOVE gene wilder and LOVE the original film....but the previews have me excited. I would've preferred to see crispin glover as willy wonka...but i sorta knew that that wasn't going to happen.
it looks like they've strayed from the original...but...kept a similar tone. willy wonka is definitely different, but i would've been insulted if johnny depp had tried to be gene wilder.
at any rate. i'm totally psyched
..but prepared to come out of the theater with a longing to pop in the original when i get home.
Burton's like my favorite director and Dep is hot even though hes like old and married. He's funny too. ^_^
Grandma Georgina: You smell like candy, Mr.Wonka
Dep: And you smell like. . . . old ppl
lol
burton is my fav and i love willy wonka so im being at the theater the 15rh
I personally just love Tim Burton and his work, I think he is brilliant, so I not only want to see this film, but I can't wait for The Corpse Bride
think im gonna skip this movie, the first was ok when i was a kid, but come on...One is enough...all this remakes really is just a sad lack of originality...
have any of you read the book the part played by johnny depp being willy wonka is the real way he was in the book he was creepy and weird at least see it before you say it sucks
The original was so cool, but this one looks creepy in a cool kind of way, but Johnny Depp doesn't look hot like he usually does, he looks scary. I will be seeing it tho.+
i think the original is better, JOHNNY DEPP IS MADE INTO A GIRL
first a gay pirate now a girl, whats next jesus...
I dont know about this one...the first one i absolutely loved, but i saw this thing on HBO or something and it was about the new one and the clips they showed made it so different from the original. when i first heard there was going to be a CHARLIE and the chocolate factory i thought it was going to be about what happend after the 1st one, like i thought charlie was now going to become what willy wonka was, cuz i think that would have been cool but whatever....im waiting for the devils rejects to come out (sequal to house of 1000 corpses) and i loved that movie i just hope this one doesnt suck
Oh, I can't wait. I personally think Johnny Depp would be great for Willy Wonka. I can't think of anyone who would do it better. And it's supposed to be more modern than the first one. It adds something to it.
i love that movie but johny depp as willy wonka is just creepy
i didnt like the umpaloompas
they r so (nughty F word) freaky
grr i h8 them
but i liked the film apart from that
eh umpaloompas
havnt even seen the original yet,, did read the book when i was like 7 tho.....
as far as never having johnny depp stranger things have happened and i soo wont get over it.... JD is soo mourish even more so than chocolate itself.
licks lips mmmmmmm
I'd like to point out something that most of the posters in this forum seem to not know.
The author of the book, R. Dahl, HATED the first version of the film with a passion.
He detested Gene Wilder being chosedn as the lead actor in the movie.
Also- the first version that so many of us are familiar with... was farther from the book than the upcoming version is.
Dahl's widow had her hand in this next version every step of the way.
It is actually closer to the origional thought of the book than the first one is.
Johnny Depp is portraying the infamous chocolatier as a germophob who seemingly is disgusted by children and has a very severe form of social anxiety.
THIS...ladies and gents... is the origional idea.
Not a singing candy-man with a side of lunacy and a large chocolate shake.
And the oompa-loompas?
They ARE little teeny-tiny people that are in fact NOT orange.
Sorry kiddies...
The upcoming version to be released tomorrow, the 15th... should have been the origional.
According to Dahl's widow... and more importantly... probably Dahl, himself.
i hate it when crappy versions of movies based on books come out... like "Bram Stokers" Dracula... with gary oldman.. man that sucked!
but thanks for that. I've never actually read the book OR seen the first film.
I saw the 70's one, haven't seen this one so don't have an opinion yet, but the first versions are always the best and classics ^-^
Thank you Khayman.
Personally, I'm rather interested in the remake, mostly because it's hitting closer to the slightly creepy and demented idea of the book. Depp, however, I think looks just a bit on the silly side more then anything. I really would have liked to have seen Manson in the part as originally proposed. I think Burton and Manson would make a great team, and Manson is pretty well obsessed with Willy Wonka, so I think he'd be able to hit it pretty well.
I'm definatley not a part of Manson's cult following that practically worships his stage facade, as he has admitted it is. He is self-admittedly one of the biggest posers in the industry. From a few interviews I've seen with him, he seems to be a very intelligent and sophisticated outside of his stage act. Which that alones proves that he can definatley act.
