what do you guys think about vampire hunters...real/not real...dangerous/not dangerous?any thoughts

there are some hunters out there...i've met a couple...

personally I think they are paranoid schizophrenics that have watched one too many episodes of buffy and lack the brain stem activity to discern the difference between the blonde haired bimbo and reality. obviously ...anyone that thinks they are a vampire hunter should be in a padded cell receiving a nice relaxing thorazine drip. but thats just me exercising my right to free speech....opinions vary.

Hmm...Hunters could exist, but they're nothing like Buffy. That show was a friggin' joke to me.

There are hunters that do hunt people like me. There have been cases where a man, who was of the condition, was hunted down by a group of people and violently killed.

They are real, and will do what it takes to kill another living person.

I'm sure at least one bird have gotten bitten by the rodent it got it's talons on.

Define 'hunters.' It could mean those that wish to slay Vampires, or those that wish to seek and learn.

So for the slayers, I hardly believe people actually get motivated to go out and kill ones who believe they're vampires. Probably would be very dangerous if they did though.

For those that wish to seek and learn, I know there's plenty of those. I happen to be one of them. I'm in the process anyways, and I don't believe I'm dangerous in any way..

I know hunters exist. I've met some of them, and no, not of the sort who have "watched too many Buffy episodes," or "paranoid schizophrenics who need to be in a padded cell."

They truly belive vampires exist, and that vampires are an evil which needs eradicated.

I am sure, however, that many exist (just like many who claim to be vampires, and are not, but are merely deluded, dangerous or not) who are the stereotypical twittish television hunter.

The honest to goodness ones ... those ones are the reason I get a laugh at people who state I AM A VAMPIRE!!! IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT YOU CAN (fill in the blank). It's like they are operating under the illusion that they are invulnerable.

I can think of nothing more gratuitously stupid than openly and loudly claiming things that will draw scrutiny of a dangerous sort.

There are hunters out there but know that they hunt us cause they don't understand us ....or they are just losers with nothing better to do but the game they pplay can cost them there lives.

what I believe hunters are, they do not understand us, or they just can't understand us. Seeing the truth, or knowing about it some times causes people to loose themselves to absolute fear, which turns into hate and anger and must be displayed in violence and some times death.

All of us have "vampiric tendencies" such as Haemodipsia(fascination, usually erotic, with blood) an aversion to sunlight (it's annoying) Faster-than normal healing processes (I get hurt a lot, so my body just reacts faster than most) and "psychic powers" that are easily explained away by religion and metaphysics.

But... I really hope that none of us think we're really vampires... if so, no more roleplaying games for you. If you think you need blood to survive, you belong in the cell NEXT to the Thorazine-dripped Hunter. Or maybe share a cell so you can kill each other off...

Ive met "hunters" but Ive never accually encountered 1 that was even close enough to sanity to even find a vampire so in my opinion a hunter is just someone who is afraid because they dont understand what a vampire is.

i havn't acually heard of vampire hunters as such, buh i know some people.. well have heard of people that have a great dislike towards tham.. buh there anger only hurts tham.. i think its all in tha mind.. thay are harmless.. you are only weak if that is how you think..

I think the real hunters are fundies. Th world is changing and they want to control it all, the only way to do that is wipe out those who are not like them (they have tried it before). Soon we'll be on the hit list, Take care, the worst thing to battle is a man on a mission from god.

Well.. I've heard of them existing and I've read about them and what others thought about them. They might exist, but not to the point how tv shows like Buffy make them out to be.

Ok, Vampire hunters do exist. I've met a few. Some were nuttier than a fruitcake, some were fairly sane.

And Seekers
(the scientific/ curious crowd who just want to see if we exist for whatever reason)

yes they exist,are they dangerous. as with anytinhg depends on how skilled they are in there trade they may be dangerous to some

I know that hunters exist i have met them. Some like others have said are like scientists they just want the knowledge and understanding but those types of hunters are called "Watchers" the ones that consider us a plague that needs to be eraticated, are crazed. Yes we are higher on the food chain, but thats how we were created. Its no worse then the tiger to the antelope. I mean how would a deer feel if a wolf came over sat down beside it and started to drink water it would run in fear because it knows that the wolf looks at a deer as food. Its not the wolfs fault it was designed to feed on raw meat. We were designed to feed off of blood and/or energy.

People swayed by pejudice come in all sahpes and sizes, and so do fannatics. I believe that there are people that hunt/bother/want to really harm vampires, just because of some religious concepts. Just dressing in a different way can be a problem. Here's a real event: One day, a few guys that dress in black were waiting for the bus, near a theater that was turned into a churh (IURD, have you heard about them?), and out of nowhere, these old ladies came after them calling them deamons and throw holy water at them. This happened right here in Lisbon, just a few years ago, so I don't find that hard to believe that there are people willing to go further then just insulting and chasing. As far as seekers are concerned, I respect them and like the way they try to understand, instead of going plain stupid and just harm what they don't really know.

Think about it this way : From the beggining of history,stories were told by word of mouth,then eventually written down.Just like the Vlad Tepes was real and Bram Stoker took his story and made Dracula...Van Helsing hunted Dracula to the ends of the earth.He was the first known *Vampire Hunter* Now,as time went on,most fiction stories came form fact.So,in the is 21st Century,anything is possible.

Vampire hunters do exist. They try to be as secretive and conciliatory as vampires. Believe me, they won't hesitate to stake someone through the heart if they hear the peson is or is suposedly a vampire.

in my opinion the idea is a little immature and silly

maybe you guys ahould look up "THE FAMOUS HIGHGATE VAMPIRE STORY(1967-1970)" and the priest who suppossedly "exorcised" it-SEAN MANCHESTER, who is also the founder of the VRS{vampire research society}

he also wrote a book about his encounter
and what happened. a very interesting read if you are into vampirology like me, wich is the study of real life vampire activity(meaning previously dead humans).
