I just love the movie Constantine and the song Passive by Perfect Circle, was wondering how y'all feel about them?
I actually thought htis post was about the Roman Emperor Constantine, who infact worshiped the sun god.
hi there dear.
i posted one about Constantine myself once. i LOVE that movie it Hollywood but i like it.
haven't seen it yet, but i will let you know when i do.
the movie was pretty good...the only thing i didnt like was the computer graffix..some of them were pretty lousy
I've not seen the movie yet but i do like A Perfect Circle...always have cool song lyrics.I'll post again once i have seen the movie.
I loved that movie. I swear me and erik must have watched it over and over and for a week. (we're amused easly)
well i thought that movie was just ok because i didnt think it was all very true...
Fallen Fairy, you are soooo right.. way way hot. Most of what they have in the movie is pretty believable except the thing about the spear being what killed Christ.. other than that I am there all the way
Nice enough film, though 'nothing' like the original comics which was a bit of a let down. In the comics constantine was blonde, swore too much and was English, film he was american, dark, and didn't really swear throughout... ahh artist lisence for you.
I really loved the movie... I'm glad I bought it, but my parents hate it.
I thought that was a very good movie. I really enjoyed it. My dad watched it and said it sucked. I told him to keep his mouth shut. =)
so this is either gonna be moved or closed.
does anyone have ANY other input besides the person who said about the roman emperor (was that the egyptian sun god rah? or another one?)
everyones just said "yeah i liked that movie" that's bloody fantastic but you could say something more... for example.
Constantine is a good movie right from the start, but that is all it is... good. with a few great points. Personally i don't think Keanu was the best guy for the role. i mean... he's just gonna be Neo in every film from this one in hollywoods eyes. unless he changes his appearance radically. I also think the pact with the devil part was a little bit... errr... simple. i was hoping it had a bit of a more complex section for that bit of film.
the closure on the kid was also pretty confusing. so the kids an angel... but also looked a little evil. I'm thinking this is where the sequel would be made from.
I'm not sure if they are going to make a sequel. but they'd HAVE to kep Keanu, else it wouldn't be the same. and that is their main problem. he's going to have to change from Neo. (and what with keanu being slightly wooden that's a little hard)
Appears to me that Goey has hti the nail on the head with his synopsis.
As usual, things are changed from what tey originally where, and those who liked Constantine from the original comicwill probably feel very let down. However, although Keanu played the part with the usual sense of mystery mixed with his anti-climactic 'man of matrix' that has made him so famous, he was the wrong man for the role in my opinion.
I thought the representation of Gabrielle was brilliant, and I loved the feeling of texture within the levels of the character, but I think there where many points tht could of been worked on the create a much more qualit feeling of suspence, where instead it was rushed... my favourite scene was definately the one in the library within the first 10 minutes.
Oh, and it made me need a cigarette all the way through!
Dude were is my spell book?
not a bad movie but it was a bit lacking of a good lead actor
I was kind of hoping were there to be sequels, they'd just pass around the Constantine role like they do in Batman and Bond movies.
IMO Keanu wasn't the best they could have found, however his name pulls in large crowds... which is what you want when you make movies. Its a business after all. Come to think of it - it was a good move if they're planning to follow up...
Start with a big name actor, get the title, Constantine, well known amongst more than just comic book readers, then you can cut back on big named actors (if you want /srugs) and let the title sell the tickets instead of the actors names.
Cadamia – The Spear of Destiny being used to kill Christ is very believable considering the story’s been around for ohh… 2000 years. As easy to believe as god and the devil playing a game of chess for our souls while smokin and joking at the local heavenly coffee shop. I’ve never read or seen irrefutable evidence the spear wasn’t what really killed Him. The spear is extremely rich in history. I’ve read this spear has been around since before Cain slew Able. Apparently the Spear of Destiny was used by Adam to till the Earth (it wasn’t originally meant to serve as a weapon), then passed to Cain for the same purpose of working the Earth.
I’m sure someone else knows far more than I about that subject. However, I spoke up just to point out that Constantine’s storyline is deeply rooted in religious and possibly very real myth. Which made the story all that much more enjoyable!
I really enjoyed the movie, and didnt mind Keanu Reeves in the title role-it could've been worse!
i really liked the movie better than Herbie fully loaded, lol
It was a good movie.
I do agree with Gorey, the closure of the kid was confusing and it does make you wonder if they will make a sequeal.
I am like some of the others. I had never heard of the Spear of Destinity, but I do plan to do some research on it. IT is on my list of things to research.
It took me watching it twice to understand the twin part, but the second time I watched it, it clicked.
What about the Witch Doctor playing neutral? That I didn't understand either. If someone can explain it, I would appreciate it. I mean I understand what his role was, I just don't understand why a witch doctor.
Here here! Gorey and Echo- my thoughts exactly, so all that's left to say is *sigh* eye candy... hmmmmmm
I thought the movie was good but I'm looking forward to the True Story of Emily Rose.
constantine rocks the tattos on his arms rule I want them
constantine roocks! and yes, the tattos are just awsome!!. its one of my fav movies
I liked the movie for what it was. I do believe that they could of been alittle less preditable with him committing suicide to save the girl. I like Keanu is this movie, I think it was alittle different from Neo. I do think that they could of gotten someone else, but hey he did a good job! If they have a sequel it would be nice to see it.
I love the concept line of the movie and perhaps the comic series althought I never had the luck of reading them.
Until the movie was being advertised,I had never heard of the comis it is based on,yet..I like Reeves...so I bought the dvd and love the movie.Fans of the comic were disappointed Reeves got the roll, the movies wasn't named after the comic or he never wore the costume from the comic.I myself injoyed this movie...buy the dvd...you will enjoy as well.
the evidence that he wasn't killed by the spear is in the fact that when they speared him, both blood and water flowed from the side, proving that the heart had not been pumping the blood thru his body for sometime or they would have still been mixed. This is how we knew he was dead before. He was, to add to that, not speared as a way to kill him but rather, to prove he was dead before burial.
Another comicbook movie I haven't seen. What the hell is wrong with me?
i love what ive seen of constantine its was great! i didnt get to c the end coz it had to be returned to the video shop :( but what i did see was amazing
Constantine is my favorite movie and Passive by A Perfect Circle is one of my favorite songs...

i really liked the movie. the music in it was awesome as well
yeah it was a good movie, teh special effects where really good
For a movie with Keanu Reeves acting, it was actually really good. They could've found somone better to play the part of Constantine though.
