This is most likely a very stuupid question, but oh what the heck?!
Are vampires evil?
My dad and everyone around me say, "Yes of course they are!"
But I don't think they all are.

i dont believe vampires are evil unless they want to become evil and use their powers for evil uses.

That would depend on one's perception of "evil".

The thought of being drained of your life blood against your will can be thought of as a deed only done by someone who is evil and doesn't give a flip about your consent...

...that's why we have a lovely thing in the community (from what I hear from another site, and this as well) called "donors."

Most Vampires were human once and therefore have the same capacity for good and evil as any member of the human race.
There are evil vampires of course, just as there are evil humans but Vampires are also as capable of as much good as humans.
Vampires are often portrayed as evil because of the nature of their food but Vampire drinking blood is no more evil than a lioness tearing a zebra to pieces for to feed her cubs.
In today's society, most Vampires discreetly advertise for willing 'donors' or purchase from blood banks in those countries that allow it, therefore avoiding the need for any stereotypical neck biting.

Stupid Question2: Who believes that Don (from Mad Mad House) is a real vampire? I know he's not evil.

vampires are as evil as they want to be, just likes humans, and every other race, and i dont know who that is on the second question

drinking blood or draining energy is a matter of survival.
Does the butcher ask for the pig's permission before killing it? Is he evil for that?

Good and Evil are in my opinion relative terms. They are relative to the individual in question's values and morals (if they have them at all) so therefore, there will never be clear definitions for either.

There are certain things that might make something or someone seem good or evil (such as a golden light or a dark castle on top of a dark hill that always seems stormy; complete with thunder and lightning), but both can manifest themselves as anything.



For vampires, it is the same way- we are not all completely one way and not the other- like others, we often have a mixture of both good and evil (and thus have the capacity for both). There are extremists of both sides of the coin, but they can be found anywhere and everywhere you see.

To answer this question, I must first pose another question... Are people evil? Vampires, much like "normal" people make inherant choices to be good, neutral, or evil. Some would say that the very nature of the vampire is evil, but I argue against this with the foundation that evil can be defined in many ways. I guess what i'm getting at is as follows. Evil things are done everyday by both good and bad people. For something to be truly evil, all of its deeds mut have a detramental effect on the things around it. Define evil and then you can find the true answer to this question.

Well people like to point the finger at vampires,those who are in the gothic scene etc... as evil but then why no one says anything at people being evil?

Look around you evil is everywhere not only in vampires or any other creature.

In the eyes of human law most vampires are considered evil. In the opinion of most churches vampires are considered evil becuse they were, "curse by God".

The more I live to see the things they do, the more I question what evil is. Is it evil to want to survive? I think not.

Then again, there are those who feel that vampirism is a curable disease. I find these people way too optimistic for my sense of being.

The fact that I have a demented sense of being may have something to do with the fact that I personally find being a vampire appealing and erotic.

Depepnds on your point of view. In my opinion Mormons are evil. But to them they are righteous. It all depends on your personal context.

You must keep in mind that some believe 'any' power that doesn't have the stamped approval of the church is evil by default. I personally do not agree.

So by its very definition "evil" is a subjective state determined by majority rule.

i belive that a vampire by "people standerd" are evil, but my beleif is that they are what they want to be....

Vampires are not evil unless they choose to be. Just like humans are not evil unless they choose to be. Vampires can make the same choices as humans. How can something just be born evil? It's ridiculous.

Evil....not all are evil (subspecies) one good and one evil brother...Is it evil to feed? We kill animals everyday for food to survive....if we use donors we don't have to kill which is more evil?

I don't feel that I'm evil, really , at least no more than any one else. As a matter of fact I have found that it is humanity that carries more evil than any other race or breed of creature on this planet.

I personaly think that no not all vampires are evil. I think that just like some humans are evil so are some vampires but for the most part vampires are just like us..... Beings that do what they have to do to survive.

Evil is such a big word.

Honestly, I stopped reading this thread about three posts in. Vampires are people. There is nothing physically different about them. The condition is of the subtle body and therefore doesn't make them anything more or less than 'normal' people. Therefore, vampires are evil if and only if they choose to be. The people who view all vampires as evil are usually the people who have no idea what vampires really are. Sadly, there seem to be way too many of these people on this site.

vampyres are normal people..thus just like normal people who suffer conditions and those that dont...they both have a good side and a bad side...

Of course they are evil, anything that drinks your blood and potentially kills you is not nice.

Most things are cosidered as evil cause they're unknown or misunderstood.

Only in myth I would see it as evil.
