In my belief I think yes.

Well yes there are half breed, my son fro instance has my Vampiric half and his mothers human half. Now as far as the extend of their powers im not sure on that if it is deffinatly gonna be less then, equal to, or possable surpass that of their parental unit that passed the dark gift

Well, the way I see it, the vampirism in a child has nothing to do with the parents, because the soul of the child was vampiric before he/she was born. You're either a vampire or you're not. Vampirism isn't genetic. The condition isn't based in the physical realm, so you have to remember that it isn't affected by happenings on this plane. Two vampiric parents can have a non-vampiric child. Two non-vampiric parents can have a vampiric child. There is no such thing as a half-breed.

I dont think there is such a thing as a half-breed for non-genetic reasons.

Dhampirs are fictitious creatures. Unless you can provide me with a reliable source of information, I'll continue to defend that statement. No offense or anything, just my opinion.

lol. As I already posted, it doesn't matter whether the mother or the father are vampires, because it doesn't affect whether the child will be a vampire or not.

That would only cover the mythological vampires. There are living, psy/sang vampires that are perfectly capable of reproducing.

im sorry, i dont believe there is..your either a vampyre or your not...theres really no inbetween...just like your either a boy or girl...no matter how much you try to change who you are..it boils down to what you were when you are born.
now, there are those who have more qualities that are vampyres then other vampyres..but i dont think it makes anyone a half breed

Dhampir is a place to start looking instead of posting threads like this. There are many names for a half-vampire/half-human. If you search the right profiles, you'll find info there too.

I dont think there are. Either your a vampire and need and are able to obtain energy through others, or you aren't. Theres no half-can half-can. Its like saying, is someone half boy half girl because of their parents? No, they are either a boy or a girl. True there are some trans and what not but those are fewer than the norm. Its 50 50, nothing more, nothing less. Yes or no. Either you are, or you aren't.

Interesting point, LaMuerte, about the soul to be already vampiric. You might have answered a question that's been in my head for sometime.
I don't think that vampires, as I see them HLV's can be half-vampires. Either there is a need or there isen't.
The tendecy to like the life-style, attraction for blood, photophobia, that's all very random to be summned up to progeny effects.

Well I don't know about half-boy/half-girl but I know you can be both, a hermaphrodite.
And there are many hybrids out there that are half-something/half-something. A Mule is one...there is a hybrid of an Ocelot and a Tabby cat, there are cross-bred cattle, goats and sheep. Even dogs are being cross-bred to produce "designer" dogs.
Just saying since people have mentioned that it cannot possibly happen.

What about children which are brought up in a vampyric society and learn all of the skills and understand the processes and reasonings, yet are not of the condition and take energy or blood simply because they can?

Stabb, I would have to say no, they are not human vampires. Is there a set requieum to be a vampire? If you have the ability of a magik user, does that make you a magik user, probably. If you have all the traits of a human are you human? Most likely. If you have more than all the traits, are you more than human? Yes. I would think so, It is what seperates us from those gods people always talk about, those spirits, they are more than human and thus are not considered human. I believe this applies to vampirism. If you have all the traits, you are, if you have some of them, you can be, if you have none, you are not. Thats not that hard to see, for me at least.

So, by your own reasoning, a human with all the 'traits' of a vampyre, is actually a vampyre in the accepted sense of the word?

I beleive that I have other attributes past the vampiric ones.

They're personal, so I don't tell many but they're certainly there.

As far as half-breeds, I feel that there are people that find themselves 'linked' as it were to one or more lifestyles. Feline/vamp, lycan/vamp, or an unawakened vampire interested in the vampiric lifestyle.

Not sure how accurate all that is, but it's a thought. *shrugs*

I do believe there are half breeds. I'm not exactly sure what the stand point is around here on past lives, but...say your soul was born as one thing. And in order to survive a certain time, event, or just to gain more power than what your soul was originally blessed with, you choose to be "embraced". Does that mean that you must then deny your "true self" for sake of the better one or do you learn to live witn both?
