For those of you that believe in astral travel and pre-ordained destinies do you believe that we are able to change the course of our destiny/lives path while working on one of the various astral planes or are we simply playing out a fixed role that has been assigned to us?

Sure. You can change your destiny like you can change fate. :) Well that's what always believed. *waits on someone to prove me wrong* :)

We live by "hopping" from one situation to another, and each situation (no matter, size or type) presents us with choices, and our choices (or lack of choices) dictate the next events, as they are now a new situation.

While the mind sleeps it rifles through gleaned info and builds out scenarios from the remnants. So dreams are like watching your subconscious in peripheral.

I am not a stranger to the belief that we are predestined, or fated. But after rational scrutiny of Life I can clearly see that it is down to choices, and consequences/reward.

I'm just not seeing how you are splicing astral projections with fate. Are you saying that we can see our fate/destiny..

Well that sounds bland it all becomes sit back and go with the ride do correct (meant to be) do incorrect (meant to be). Believing it is one thing, but the trick is in the physics, physiology, and neurochemicals. If you want to alter your "fate" then do something... anything.. or don't do something.. see you are off time now. Anything set to your time has changed as well.

I believe that we can. Although our fates may seem preordained, I believe that it is all through the power of our choices and various influences that ultimately affects where we end up.

i have recently dabbed in the astral projection trick,and after months finally got to travel, mind you i got as far as the kitchen touched a glass and came back, but ill let you know when i get to the level of changing my destiny :) i imagine we can, we have free will so nothing is impossible if we put our minds to it, life is a bunch of random moments, and from what ive seen you can effect moments

Your fate is the circumstances you are born into. Destiny is what you choose to do with those circumstances...the choices you make. I have read a lot about the astral and a lot of views on it and some believe this but I have no idea. If it could affect the physical plane and change some of the choices you have made or would have made, perhaps. Maybe if you could get an idea of what would happen if you went down a certain path and if that was negative then when in the physical not go that connection. Are you talking about precognition? I've never believed too strongly in predestination and I think we have the free will to make choices. As to whether OBEs would make any difference, I have never heard anyone speak about it. It isn't something everyone can do. Even Monroe stated it wasn't something all people would be able to master...it took skill. He felt you didn't actually go out of body but it was more a change in consciousness. There are a lot of ideas floating around so perhaps one could if you knew how.

I have been re-reading Robert Monroes book, Journey's Out of the Body, but as yet I don't think he has spoken on fate or destiny. There is always the possibility if you can master your thoughts and then deal with time and space.

I used to believe that if it were possible to change the course of our destiny on the astral plane, it would change the nature of our lives on our normal plane. Then I watched an episode of Charmed, the one in which Page does the above....well it didn't end well. So I have left that idea for now.

In any given here/now moment all possibilities are available.Of course one can change direction in the astral but I don't think it is necessary to project to create change after all isn't that what magick is about.Could just take a simple change in attitude and commitment to a chosen course.
