I know there's a thread on if it's possible to go into other's dreams. I'm just taking it a step further.

Once in somene else's dreams I've found/heard that it's possible to make the dreams tangible, that what happens in the dream can happen to your body. And that it's possible to attack and/or kill someone through their dreams.

What are your thoughts on the tangibility of dreams and dream walking?

I guess it could be tangible. When you are sleeping many of your higher functions are shut down or brought down to a low level. If you were made to stay in a state of low respiration and pulse, it may cause damage or death. This is a big "if" though. If you were to die, I couldn't see it being the result of anything else. I don't see the possibility of someone dying due to actions witnessed in a dream.

I don't know about the falling one. Usually when I fall in my dreams I land and either die and/or just keep dreaming.

I was curious, 'cause i was threaghtened by someone in my dreams once, they came back to attack me and a friend was dream visiting and told me that i had almost died. Which has also happened to a close friend of mine. I don't think typical dreams can allow or for what you witness, but that maybe it's possible that while you're in someone's dream to use it as a tool or masque for what you're really doing.

Don't believe much in that.
Do believe in the mind over matter principle though.

Only thing about dreams I know thats for sure, at least to me, is that I can controle what I dream and if I don't like something I simply "redream" it.

It was once described to me that one can "change the channel" of a dream as part of controling it; and that one time a dream came back and asked why she kept changing to a different dream. hehe

First we would have to establish whether or not it is possible to enter into another person's dream. It would be interesting if there was scientific research done on the topic. One person who supposedly can inject themselves into another dream could try and do so in a complete stranger's dreams. Now this would be done in the controlled enviroment where neither knew each other or had any contact with the other. Then in the morning just quiz the two down and see if the two had matching descriptions of what went on in the dream.

If anyone knows of research done on this topics, I would love to read it.

I believe that things like that could happen. I've had quite a few friends tell me of their dreams of something that has happened and then woke up with marks or scratches or something. They could have easily done it to themselves in their sleep but you never know. The mind is a powerful thing. I've had things happen to myself that I can't explain but I don't know if I did it or something else so I'm still not sure.

I've fallin and was tortured almost to death in my dreams..and I'm still alive and well.I really don't think dreams mean anything but to maybe look into the future at times..maybe.Dream shareing is cool though!
It's when you and someone else shares the same dream, knowing and interacting with eachother.I wish I could do that.
Sometimes when you dream of falling..and
walking..or getting hit..you body jerks about in your bed.

I've died many many times in my dreams, or fallen, usually just keep dreaming after that point, nothing happens to my body. I'm not asking or talking about typical normal dreams, i mean when someone else comes into it, that it might be possible for them to do things to you, not the dream.

I don't believe in someone being able to kill you in your dreams or being able to die in your dreams. Dreams are just a metaphysical state of being, nothing more than that. If something were to happen to you that once happened in a dream, it is sheer coincidence.

I would think that since dreams are a formulation of the subconscious and are carried on electrical impulses in the brain, that it is quite possible to create "Tangible" substance in such a state.
If we think we are ill, and think hard enough about it, we can actually make ourselves ill even if we weren't to begin with. The mind can do some pretty wonderous things, and these things are all equated with the electrical impulses in the brain, and the bodies etheric self.

Oh WoW..

I have never heard of being able to go in to thers dreams.. Well I was once TOLD that someone had gone in to MY dream.. I Said i dreamt about them, they said "ok, that's cool, it worked then" Then they explained that they went tin to my dream.

NOW, Apparently I could be quite good at the Astral Travel, as I could thought associate as a kid (story in my journel)
I lost it as I grew older.
BUT I still seem to have a Sedament left of this 'gift' as I am capable of reading 'feelings' of others (an Empath, I have been told, after discussion)

If there is any information of this I'd just love to know.
Thanks for this thread!!

I dont know about killing someone, I think you would have to be incredibly strong for something like that, but its feasible. As for causing harm, well nothing harms more than a terrifying dream. So its very plausible and reasonable to me. I have heard of people connecting on a sexual level, now that would be fun lol.

There is an old movie called, "Dreamscape" (I think) about this very concept. People are able to enter the dreams of others and kill them in their dreams which leads to their physical death.

This goes under the thought that the mind exerts considerable control over the body and what the mind experiences, it can enforce on the body in physical realm.

However, in order for this to occur, the subconscious, "spirit" body has to leap the bridge from subconscious to conscious, waking mind. Again going with the occult theory of the three bodies/ minds, the mental body that crosses spirit to physical must be able to pass the message along to achieve any result on the physical body.

Some suggest that the phenomena of stigmata occurs in this manner. A deeply religious person who wishes deeply and spiritually to connect to the suffering of christ then crosses the mental body bridge to achieve results on the physical body itself.

The main problem I have with entering another's dreams to kill them goes in accordance with this occult principle. Even if you enact a killing on the subconscious level and the spirit body via dreams, the mental body is highly unlikely to pass that message along to the physical body and mind without considerable ability to bridge from dreams to waking reality. It is this same connection between physical body/ mental body/ spirit body that forms the concept that dying in your sleep means you die in the physical plane as well.

Most people who are dreaming of their actual death wake up before they actually die. The bridge between spirit body and physical body is never crossed.

In the case of those who dream their death and survive, they are dreaming of a metaphorical death as a symbol vs actually dying in their sleep.

LOL no way Jenova your a fountain of information and we love you for it...

I know the mind can be manipulated and controlled to the point that someone can totally believe something is real when it isn't. Like being bitten by snakes or as suggested falling from a building... So it would be easy for someone with the right power to manipulate you into thinking your not dreaming and then death could easily occur.

Interesting concept, LadyWinter. I would agree that one *could* actually achieve murder through dreams. But again, the spirit body, mental body, and physical body are all united fiercely by one desire: survival.

To have the ability to override all three in order to kill someone would require exacting information about the person to not only suggest it at the subconscious (spiritual) level, but to also get this desire to bridge to the physical level.

Morality aside, if one could accomplish this... Wow. Just... wow... I so totally want to pick your brain on the conceptual semantics of killing via the dreams of another.

I've never seen a hypnotist attempt to get someone to kill themselves. If anyone were daring enough, they would come up against a struggle to make their suggestion powerful enough to override the survival instinct. Clucking like a chicken is very different from pulling a trigger with a gun against your own head.

I would like to think that the spirit, mind, and body would retain a degree of defenses against suggestion.

And... thanks! ^_^ Knowledge is power. And nerdy. And cool in its own way I suppose.

One's desire for survival does not mean they can avoid death. Ask any person on the brink of death who desires to live more than anything else, it won't save them. It can only help at the beginning stages, and sometimes even then it can't.

For credibilty's sake, A friend and I do visit each other in our dreams, he visits mine more often, we both can give the same account of most of the dreams we share.

Since the body is paralized while sleeping for it's own protection and i don't have anything in my bed that i can give myself some interesting bruises in odd places. It is possible for physical manifestations of dreams to occur, there's a spot on my back i cannot reach no matter what 'cause of a partial paralysis in my arm, i had him poke me hard in the dream, and the bugger must have been pissed or something 'cause i ended up with a nasty bruise.

I always have to test theories, but i'm not about to test killing someone or being killed..lol

For me, this is kind of questionable. I have had instances where I have had identical dreams with someone else and we were weirded out about it because we couldn't explain it. The most I have ever had happen to me is bruises and scratches have been left on my body from dreams that Brett and I share where he has bitten or scratched in the dreams. When it first happened, it freaked me out because I was in OH and he was in KY but then I just accepted it as normal. I seriously doubt you could kill someone through this method. But anything is possible, I will say that much.

I don't know how much damage a visitor can do in a dream, but I do know dreams can be very tangible. I had one and yes it was lucid or rather it became lucid where I was picked up off the ground by my throat and couldn't breathe until it dropped me. After I woke up my neck hurt (from the outside) for hours afterward.
So I think it is entirely possible that death in a dream could lead to death of a person, however, since no-one that it may happen too has ever woken up I can't really know for sure.

I dont believe you can kill someone in their dreams, the only way i have heard that someone can die in their dream is if they have a bad heart and they dream of falling off of a mountain or something like that, and no one can really know for sure if that is possible either, unless they were testing someone that died while they were dreaming...

The body feels what the mind believes. When someone has a brain issue and it makes them think bugs are crawling over them.. they don't just think bugs, they feel them on their skin. So if you successfully enter a dream, and connect to that persons mind (which i do believe is entirely possible), and kill kill them in that state.. technically.. their body should feel it and shut down accordingly.

I find this subject very interesting, because you can also do something similar while a person is hypnotized, what the mind thinks is real, the body also does.

I think that this is an ability that should be used carefully, and wisely.

If you get the person to believe it is true then it can happen to there physical body. The mind is very powerful and can create wounds or even stop your breathing. There has been many studies and all has point to it not being a myth. To let someone in your mind is to trust them completely.

My other half will wake up in the morning and have scratches and such on his arms.... the funny thing about it all is that I don't have the nails to scratch him with.... I don't know if it's someone doing it to him or what but If he can have physical evidence then I could see it being completely tangible...

I do not think it is possible to go into another person's dream and kill them. For the dreamer, you might put that person in your dream if you are having some kind of situation with that person that may be threatening to you. You also enter what is called a lucid dreaming state where you are aware that you are dreaming but you are still dreaming and you have the ability to contol your body at this point but you still can't move your body. Dreams can make for a fascinating study and I've been keeping a dream journal for ten years. You can use it as an interpretative journal as to the events that are going on in your life. The things that appear in your dreams are symbols that your subconscious is sending you to help you.

i think it is possible that some dreams can cause such things on certain individuals to be real depending on the dream and the circumstances.

Lucid dreaming is hard enough to achive but to go into someone elses dream is harder and then to actually kill them would be almost impossible, I mean it could be possible but not for the average person, i think this is something that could be done by someone trained in magick...

I have never went into anothers dream but i wouldnt want to cause them harm. It would be as if i had personally in reality done it. But i have controlled my dreams and i do think dream walking is possible. One jsut might have to be very skilled and have concetration to do it.

i can also control my dreams, but it really needs a lot of concentration.i don't really believe that u can die in your dream.in fact sometimes when i want to wake up,i kill myself..once a friend of mine dreamt somebody dragging her leg,and when she woke up it actually hurt.It had no bruises or something, but it still hurt.so,i guess who knows?sometimes dreams can be so vivid that they can affect reality............
