I find the amount of love spells on the market today frightening.
I Know the wicca training is do what you will harm none and 3 fold law n so forth.
Love spells are breaking everything wicca says I think.
I think Altering someone’s love path to your own path for your needs or wishful desires wrong.
I believe the vampire desire is simply eternal/lost love driving the soul through the ages.
What effect do you think love spells have on this eternity of looking for ones loved one.?
i think that vampires have a nautral need to be loved....and that love spells are a waste of time
A love spell is in wiccan lore a no no! it messes with free will (something that should never be messed with even if you are prficient at your craft) most of these love spells for sale are aimed at teenagers joining the craft alone, and are easy enough spells but they don't warn the user about the repercussions of the spell and what could happen and that as with all spells that it could go terribly wrong and/or backfire.
in my opinion love spells are unsafe and someone would be stupid to try to use one on another.
Mim x
I agree
your one smart english flower.
I have I do and always get what I want, just glad im not wiccan or id be in trouble x 3 lol
Hi Diemos
I can assure you magic works, love spells are so soul destroying.
I guess after a while you believe it is love and when the magic wears off your left holding a broken heart
Love spells are indeed a waste of time. Why? Because no one truly thinks of the consequences before throwing intent into the winds. If it should work, the love you attract will not be whole, as it is not totally of a natural source.
Having cast my own written love spell, I know that they work, but not quite to the level that most people would imagine. Sure, you may gain that person's love, but it's not always a wholesome thing entirely.
Love spells also have a tendency to bind someone to you and you to them. It makes you even more loathe to break the bond that you feel towards another. And if the time comes that bond must be broken, it is unimaginably painful for both parties involved.
I'm not against them. I think they are great when used in consideration for the consequences.
I think that love spells are morally wrong, Any "emotion" felt afterwards simply cannot be true. I also feel that if love is truely love it has to be given of free will and sound mind.
Cryptomnesia, that is true free will is not a toy to play with neither are other's emotions.
Go ahead, Cast a love spell. Then after 10 years of living with the same person, forced to love you, never knowing if their affections are real or not. Gratifing your ego and nasty little habbits. Go for it. Find out for yourself.
Other then that. If you have to resort to magick to solve human issues, then you have my pity. Somethings must be done on a human level, without the use of the art.
lavisbre, thank you for the compliment hin. i th9ink love spells are really silly and childish spells for people who have no idea what they are doing. i have never cast one myself i trust in fate and destiny to chose love for me and they both have chosen well.
I do not actually practice the craft, but the aspect of emotional manipulation frightens me.
if you feel you have been manipulated by magick in any way you should tell someone who you trust (preferably someone who practices the craft) also there are protection spells that can be done to help you feel safer pm me if you want to know more ok.
Mim xx
Oh, no, I do not feel that I've had anything cast on me, but knowing it IS possible it is what gets me.
I do however know that there are ways to avoid it.
Now, now... we are giving love spells a bad name. Given the situations involved, love spells might indeed be justified. I have a hard time imagining what those cases may be, but I don't know a single person who hasn't been tempted to or cast a love spell at some point.
It's in our nature to want to be loved to the point that we cast our affections on sometimes unwilling partners. While one must always be careful, I am not going to say that love spells are always wrong.
Half of them don't even work. And those that do tend to manifest real love if they are of the right intention. Over time, that bond does grow stronger. Then, if said target is truly in love with you for who you are, what's wrong with it?
Love spells in some intentions are cast with the purpose of enslaving another person. Other love spells are quite different. It's important to distinguish intentions before pronouncing doom on those who will cast and have cast love spells during their life time.
But, as always, the potential consequences should not be ignored. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to state that 95% or higher of love spells cast have bad intention.
There are those who cast love spells for themselves, to learn to love themselves. There are those who cast love spells to attract a mate, without a particular target in mind. There are those who cast love spells at a particular target without intent to enslave, but rather to engender feelings that might otherwise be wholly ignored.
None of the above are entirely wrong in and of themselves. Stating that all love spells are wrong is the same as stating all healing spells are wrong because they meddle with "free will" or "destiny".
The truth is that all magic in every form has the intention of overriding the will of another or the circumstances of others in some way. A spell of prosperity to gain a job shuts out the other applicants. All spells are inherently designed to further the self or another and all spells will have an adverse affect on someone.
yes morals are a big problem …..
would it be wrong to cast a spell on someone who you have been dating for a month or so, lets say love making has never been more spiritual, you Finnish each others sentences, you feel completed as one like your soul has been answered … nothing they do is wrong …. You would die for them.
Would it be wrong to cast a love spell on them to cement the relationship magically?
In my opinion love spells are very very wrong. However, that said, there are many different types of love spell and i think we need to break them down into what I see as three categories.
1. The love spell that entices love into your life.
2. The love spell that you cast on someone to make them love you.
3. The love spell that is cast to bring your soulmate into your life.
I agree with the 1st and 3rd types of love spell as they are not aimed at a particular individual so do not necessarily mess with free will. However, the first is most certainly much more dangerous than the 3rd as it does force the matter and find a worthy subject to LOVE the caster, whereas the 3rd just calls the soulmate into the casters life and there is absolutely no force of magick trying to force the love issue.
Mener
And in answer to that last question lavisbre, yes it would be wrong, in my opinion, to cast a love spell to cement a loving relationship that really does not need it....don't you think?
Techinically a love spell is not breaking the law of "harm none", because love is not in and of itself harmful. Quite the opposite in fact. However, a love spell upon a specific target without their express permission does violate free will, and could definitely be considered unethical in that regard.
Love spells always end badly...it's a cosmic law of the Universe....
Love is dangerous enough without adding spells and such to the mix. The emotions run so high in that state anyway.
Good answer Menerfecious
Problem is what is love ? how long does it last?
I know we have DNA markers we look for in the lovers subconsciously, this is why beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I know chemical states and euphoria’s happen, lust is the main sign of this state.
It is limited … then your left with ?
Friendship, a pledge, memories, paradigm shift, marriage guidance, porno stimulation, I wont go on ………
So would it be better to not take the chance and preserve it with a spell or two?
Someone on VR not too long ago made a glorious journal entry about her thoughts on love spells. I thought it was a great. She hates them :)
She explained so well why she hated them... I'll have to see if she feels like coming over here and explaining it for herself.
im not wiccan, and i would never cast a love spell or wish one to be cast in my favor. just my opinion.
as for the whole vampire angle, a good many of us, especially those with psi abilities, by their very essence incite love, admiration and/or devotion without even trying. it just is.
also, if someone is truly starved for a deep love, why would they be appeased by something that was forced on someone against their will?
Have I been summoned? heh...
The very concept of love spells terrifies me. It makes me nervous to think that someone would even try something so selfish, so controlling, and so manipulative to someone else just because they want them for themselves.
It's emotional slavery.
I don't believe love spells work, but I think anyone who would even dream of putting someone who they "care" about through something like that has...more than a few things wrong with them.
It's psychotic, overbearing, immature and controlling behavior and it repulses me.
Yep- that would be the input I was talking about :)
I totally agree with that stance on love spells, Morrigon. Some people just can't get beyond what they want- it's worth more to them than those they supposedly love... it's scary and those people NEED help.
They do need help, if they haven't matured enough over time to see that something that desperate and nasty is unhealthy then they really do need to get help...
Love, real love, in all of its many forms and beauty is untamed, and doesn't always happen in ways that you want it to.
Trying to control it, or tame it, or command it, is like trying to grab the sun.
It's impossible to do...but trying to do it anyway is pretty ridiculous ;)
*giggles* so I guess that’s that
Morrigon hit the nail on the head, I guess from my original post that is part answered … I guess you don’t believe they work so I cant ask you to answer how that would affect eternal love.
Sorry, but I don't believe they work.
I don't really think that is the important part.
And if they did...How would they affect eternal love? well....if they created eternal love then the love would probably never be real.
how could you live knowing that in the back of your head? If love spells did work, how could you ever feel satisfied knowing the feelings someone has for you were created, are a mask, are fake?
Even if rejection is painful, it's real.
I think the adventure of finding real love without trying to force or influence it is far more wonderful, and satisfying, and healthy.
Interesting ….
I have a slight paradigm shift on the matter personally, I believe magic works.
I also believe the reasoning behind the use of such magic the same as you, the worst of all as I place love on a high pedestal.
Too high me thinks as I cant reach it lol
Mortal persuits should be left to mortal persuits. Lust is satisfied by use of spells, procreation, the same. If you seek to arouse desire then that is fine, so long as the desires are there, bringing love from a friendship. anything else, and you are violating the souls, if you hold to morals. IF you are fine with doing this, then yay enjoy the fruits of your work.
I don't feel that a love spell should be done.....manipulating someone is never o.k
I never said I don't believe in magic. I said I don't believe in love spells.
I think something like that is beyond our control and to assume that it isn't seems quite...Arrogant to me.
Manipulation of energy and people is one of the things those who practice preditory spiritualism are good at. It is however inapproiate to do these things for such persuits as lust. But it comes needed when you need to orchistrate an event to occur in a way that could only be accomplished through the manipulation of the persons involved, through emotional, or mystical means, Playing a puppet master of sorts.
As long as you don't use a specific person or name.It will bring the one you'r supposed to be with.
KA
well...if you think about it if you create a love spell for someone eventually what you will get back is heart ache 10 times over again
and not just that but you cant cheat out destiny
love spells are messing with someone else will unless done wiht knowledge and permission of the person and even vampires need love to survive.
Using love spells to win over a person is not just unethical, but can have negative effects on the person who casts the spells. These love spells may live up to their claims, but for a short time only. The negative energies built out of the attempt to bend the natural course of energy affect the caster of the spell. It invalidates the rules of love that are built on mutual respect, admiration and the need for companionship.
I dated a wicca named Midnight. If she put a love spell on me it didnt stop me from leaving when she treated me like shit. Vampire love like any love has to be earned. I was married for 20yrs. to a women who told me she loved me many times each day but in 20yrs. she never once made me feel loved. I was with a girl for 3yrs who hardly said she loved me but from the first time she said it I felt loved every day all day long.
I know someone who did love spells, well he said he did, and heis a wiccan, think its not right, but then again he said ti was just to enhance what was already there to see it true form and make it pure, I think its more a cleansing love spell then a love spells
love spells are a waste of time.
Vampires need love as much as humans do.
we are all ment to for someone.
everyone is ment to love.
The majority of love spells i see are not aimed at making someone love you, now i know that their are lots of spells like that out their but the spells that you see in a lot of the better spellcraft book are aimed at opening a door of communication between you and the person that you are in love/like with, and thoes types of love spells are good because you are not trying to force someone against their will...
I Believe In Love Spells... And Id Do A Love Spell On SomeOne Im With If Wanted.. But Not Go Against Some One Who Is Not Aware..
i feel it is of only ones personal gain to use such spells and in most cases they usually backfire as real life stalkers and even if they do work individuals once they get what they want they come to realize that it is wrong and not meant to be i find that the wicca belief has many bogus love spells that imature teenagers use to fulfill their loneliness..
any spells that use a higher source to work on someones emotions be it love or hate i feel only can have negative impact down the future.
I think that love has it's own will, and trying to alter that is like trying to stop the sun from rising. I think, morally that altering what love has planned for someone is wrong. But it's really hard for vampires, someone else already said it, that it's in ones nature as a vampire to feel the need to be loved. That is a very hard need to sate, considering how long the feeling would have to last for a vampire.
I have to agree with morrigon in every sense of every word she posted.
To cast any form of love spell that actually demands a person to love you, or makes a relationship better or any of those kind of spells is very very wrong and indeed psychotic.
I refer you all back to my original post where i gave 3 categories. Well i have changed my mind. I do not believe that category one is even acceptable.
However, to cast a spell to meet someone special (in my opinion) is not forcing any issues of love, it's just asking that you meet up with someone that could potentially be a future partner/lover/husband/wife.
M
Love spells are a big no no, like it was stated it is against freewill, as for vampires i think everyone is looking for the perfect love and the feeling of being needed in society. Vampyres are the same.
I agree that loves spells should be used appropriately.
I believe that a love spell should be only used to enhance a couple's love, not create love where none exists.
Well it's just adding to what's already there in society, to have a temp sex partner and then once used, thrown back in the sea, no different than what is observed and it's screwing up society, treating eachother as robots, no real emotion is contained there in the hereafter anymore. That's just my opinion.
I think love should be natural, love spells show how weak the caster could be; he is to scared to go up and ask them on a date or something.
Love spells do nothing but cause trouble for the people involved. To find true love, one must be able to love a person unconditionally.
Pandorabox posted:
i dont think you could put a love spell on a vampire. a vampire power is above all that. if i am wrong please tell me.
I reply:
Why would a love spell not work on those affected by vampirism? We're just as human as those NOT affected by vampirism. We have no "powers" as a general rule, although I'm sure that as humans, there are those with psychic gifts.
The one person in my history at using a love spell either didnt or it didnt work. I dont believe its right to alter anothers future. I wouldnt turn someone on to drugs who had never done them. I agreewith Menerficious, If you have interest in someone who"s attention you cant get for whatever reason. A love spell could be like a kick in the ass. and by the way I like the haircut bro.
i think love spells are morally wrong and you should never be allowed to play with someones emotions like that.....it is also very dangerous and should not even been done by someone who has perfected their craft...nevermind teenagers trying it for fun...
as for vampires....i think the can be put under a love spell just as easy as anyone else can....
i believe that love spells are just a waste of time...why try to force yourself to fall in love?
I think casting a love spell is a waste of time. I haven't done one and don't intend to cuz you never know who you could be calling to you. And for all you know these people and never gave a second glance at you before this would just be the spell making the other person and you be together. I believe what many pople have put in this thread that love should be of free will =]
there was asimilar post last week.love spells can back fire.but the need for love can be more intense in a vampire than for a human.due to the outside world sensing theres something different about the person,so the need for that one companion becomes more intense.love is all you need
Vampire or no, I think a person has to believe in the craft in order to be affected by it.
well I think the love spell who helps you to FIND you love messes up nothing
but I think we should let the destiny take it's way... maybe it's worth to wait a lil longer...so the love that you find tastes a lot sweeter
I feel that love spells are wrong Vampires have a mutual need to be loved, to deny someone their own path or will is deceitful.
I agree that love spells are wrong. Definetly not something you should do. Not only does it go against free will. But a big NO NO.
Since i don't practice anything wiccan I don't know if it's doing wrong by that. I do think it's impure. If someone doesn't love you for you because you are you are they worth having? I know, confusing but if you understand that it makes sense I think. Personally I'd rather have them love my personality and values, belifs and reason instead of just loving me because a potion or spell makes them, you know?
I feel if you use a Love spell then you are altering the path of persons invovled and it could cause problems later in someones life when their True and real love comes across their path.
It is just wrong in my own opinion, why would you want someone to begin with if they do not even know you exist or like you in that way?? Der.. Makes no sense to me what-so-ever. I feel it is just asking for trouble later on in your life. because you are changing the natural course of your life.
I have a few love spells that should work. They are being a nice, funny, witty, compassionate (etc..) type of person. If thats not enough for someone, then they are not worth going after in the first place. Just my two cents.
couldnt vampire energy attract love to them ? would it not be the same as a love spell
When my marriage was on the rocks and my spidy sense said my wifey was cheating on me If I had known about love spells, I probably would have tried it. Shit I used to pack the kids up on Sunday mornings and haul them into church. Before Mass I would pick a saint and light a candle in front of them hoping my relationship with my wife would get better. I wanted those feelings to go away. I wanted my marriage to work just for a few more years cause my youngest child was only 9. Desperate situations call for desperate measures. Some people have no game and its not a matter of balls that they cant ask a person out. they need a leg up and the advice tier mom gave them aint working. I say if you know the spell and you know it wont hurt the other person use it to give them that kick in the ass. When you got thier attention dont continue the spell . rely then on your own skills. If it dont work out dont pull another rabbit out of your hat. Just let it go.
I think if your putting a spell on a person to make them love you, that is wrong. but If your spell just opens a door of communication between you and the person you like i see nothing wrong with that...
I don't agree with love spells in any form as i said previously all that will happen is distrust and uncertainty even if the recipient agrees to the spell they will always wonder if you have cast on them either before or after the love spell which causes them to become paranoid too.
I personally think that people should leave love spells (whether permission is given or not) well alone.
love spells are best left alone i think if one finds that special one then thats great but if not then it was not meant to be
a spell is a spell, it can work or not depending on the person against who it is send, if the will of the person is strong then it wont work, if the will is weak then the spell will work for sure
Uhm. No Wiccan I know uses or has ever used any sort of "love spell". Those kind of spells are NOT Wiccan.
Sorry flower wiccan love spell are common, just check out a book store.
I definatly dont agree with Love Spells.. they are taking away a persons free will.. which is something that as a Wiccan, one should never do.. that and - if its a spell.. the person never really loved the other person, they were coaxed into it, which is pointless
Love spells are a no no. It is wrong to try to force someone to love you. If they don't they were not meant for you.
i think it a good idea but it not the right thing to do.
If something is taken without permission or knowledge, it is still wrong.
soul mates will find each other without the casting of spells.
There is something called the Well of Desire, where one calls out.But tis not casting a spell to have the person do something against their will.
A spell that makes a person love you, can backfire on you, that is why you only use a spell to open up communications between you and the one you want, atleast that way you can see if the person you love is the right one for you or if they are the wrong one for you...
i still feel that we are no different than anyone else except for the culture that we choose to live in and love does have some active role to play with each of us depending..
You are most correct in saying that a love spell directed to a specific person does interfere with free will. You can do spells thought that will bring love your way (not bewitching a specific person).
I think it depends o the strength of that specific love. Eternity carries a toll, as does love. Yet, together they both are their own spell.
I personally would not want to do a love spell because I think later knowing that I forced someone to love me would not bring me the happiness I desired.
I've had a lot of friends who know nothing about wicca who have had problems in relationships go out and buy books and books about love spells attempting to make their relationships work without really having any belief. It annoys me to no end that they bitch because they can't get it to work and have so and so stay with them or fall in love with them.
the only love spell that come to mind that would be a good one is the call for the lost love or for love in the future.
how many of you thinks that there is a spell of some sort on you now ?
I believe I once read something that said something about love spells and Wicca...I believe it was something along the lines of, while love spells are not forbidden, you take responsibilty for any person you put any spell on. For example, if you put a love spell on someone, and they were so smitten with you they lost their job and were unable to support themself because they were so taken up in ogling you, it would be your responsibility to then take care of that person until they were "healthy" [so to speak] again.
I'm not into Wicca, and I have no sence of the religion. But, I do believe that Free Will must not be messed with. Any feelings altered afterward arent true, as someone had said. I dont get how someone could even alter free will and not feel bad about it.
Yes, I feel that love spells go against the laws also. but I allways "do" for others and allmost never do anything for myself, unless its a clensing ritual
In my own humble opinion, it would be very narcissistic indeed to cast a spell onto another, drawing their love. What kind of person would it take to prefer the conjured love to that given freely?
Regardless of right/wrong, moral imperatives, it's hard for me to fathom the make-up of the individual who would cosmically tether another to him/herself with no concern for the consequences. I'm not condemning anyone who has or would do so. I just can't wrap my mind around the general nature involved.
Personally, I would never do so for the sheer fact that I would never be able to live with all the "what-ifs" that would be brought into existence by the very casting of the love spell. Not only do you take away someone's free will, but you also in essence replace it with your own, in relation to "love" anyway. That leads me to think...how long exactly would one be able to live with not knowing if their relationship would have naturally progressed? How long could they live with the fear of having created an altogether different reality for their loved one and themself?
The very nature of of observation changes that which we observe. If we change things, the way they happen, just by BEING there, then think just how greatly we change the entire face of a person, a situation, a whatever when we directly apply magical efforts onto them.
Free will, when it comes down to it, is our greatest possession. No matter how bad the decisions we make, they are still ours to render. To take that ability away from someone else would be akin to giving them a homemade labotomy. Do you think they'd whole-heartedly and with open arms allow you do THAT? Hmmm.
I'm also of the mind that the ability to emotionally enslave another is quite frightening. My independence has always been one of the traits that defined me as a person. To have that snatched away, to make me dependent upon another against my will...well, I can only say that I can imagine few fates worse.
i think it takes the romance out of it all. knowing yourself that it is fake and you just tricked someone into falling for you. that is just dumb in my opinion. i would never do a love spell... i have done many lust spells, but that is different. and most likely they were fake... but hey it worked. ;)
I cannot think of any reason to cast a love spell on someone. As you stated, YOU, being the caster would know that the relationship would be a lie, so why would someone lie to themself?
i think love spells are nothing, just to put u together but theres no love no feelings to one another,so love spells can do nothing....
Its good to see no one used them here, I do know the market place is flooded, that means a market is out there …. How sad
I think we (vampires) seek passion in our lives at all times; we are passionate people, and need it to survive as well as blood, energy, etc.
i would have to disagree with you there loves spells only help some one relize there feelings for another
and i agree on the other part though to vampires it is natural
Good point you make, Cinnamon; I have always found that when you don't look for love, that is when it finds you, so why do spells?
so vamp91 you think it's right to do love spells?
im not judging im intersted and thank your honest comments
Love spells are foolish.
no one really thinks of the consequences when using them..
what bothers me is that there are books and articles on all sorts of spells and they are aimed at teenagers and young people...nothing like giving youngsters the wrong directions on their life path. If they don't do their homework they could be messing with a buchabad stuff...shudders
