some people here on VR complain about stamping because they say it means that whoever stamps you when they rate did not take time enough to go through your profile
i personally think they are fine it does make things prettier and lets you check out wat neat pics other people have found :)
I like to take the time & read peoples profiles even though i use my stamp. Im always curious to see what everyone has to say whether its good or bad....
agrees with Cinnamon, i use my stamps most of the time so i see nothing wrong , if they look good
I don't like having stamps put in my profile, because it tells me nothing. It may be true that you read it, but it doesn't tell me much. If you stamp my portfolio, I'm okay with that.
i think this has to do more with profile rating more than anything else seems like this is in the wrong forum section
I use my stamp all the time. It doesn't mean that I don't read over a profile. A lot of times, I either don't have the time to type out a response/comment or I simply don't know what to say (which happens a lot). At least by stamping, I can tell the individual that I rated 'farily', who I am, and that if they update and let me know that I will re-rate.
Only stamps I don't like are the ones that are too wide or are incredibly long.
I use a stamp but i also read the profile before i rate it
it doesn't matter to me either way. i figure you're going to do what you want either way. besides i think the stamps are pretty cool. i guess if you take the time to make the stamp you're going to want to use it
I read everything on a persons page and just because I put a stamp on it does not mean that I have not taken an interest in what was stated. I have in fact been known to message someone with a comment or question. The stamp is just for the ease of it all. I don't like leaving personal messages right out in the open.
I for one use my stamp on profiles and portfolios, but I do take the time and read them before I rate, and I always rate.. there is nothing more annoying then someone looking at your profile and not leaving a rate
I don't mind the stamps. I find them to be quite lovely actually. Someone put a lot of thought and time in it and I enjoy seeing them.
Me, I LOVE THEM!! I think it's cool to see what you can do with stamps. I have several and I love to give them as much as I can. Though, if someone requests not to have stamps, I won't, out of respect for them.
i dont mind stamps to me it easier to rate people after you view there profile
I only use my stamp when I see a profile that is wasted space. If you can't be bothered to put something in your profile, I can't be bothered putting an individual message- so anything 3 or less, gets stamped
I dont mind stamps, as long as they dont stretch my profile. I stamp when I feel like it. Normally I dont leave any comment at all.
I like stamps but to show I read their profile I leave a little comment about something
I don't care that much for stamps, because I think that it means that the person that has stamped you has not really read your profile, and some of them stretch your profile. But then again cinnamon makes an excellent poing when she said that any one can just scroll down click a number and write nice profile and the click rate, so I guess you can't really know if someone really read your profile unless they comment on something that is said in your profile.
I proudly use my stamp all the time. Anyone else is welcome to do the same on my profile. I assume, correctly or not, that if someone really wants to get my attention they will send me a message. A quick little quip in my comment box doesn't really get me all fired up to talk to someone. Its best to message me directly. Then again, thats just my two cents.

I leave stamps and/or leave original comments. Whatever I feel like. And for various reasons. It was Cancer's implementation- and a valid means of rating.
i take the time to view the profile and i like the stamps.
I love to use my stamp, I do take time to read some of them, The ones that worked real hard on there profiles,I take time to read, Because It shows that they are dedicated and have something to say,An I also use my stamp to show respect to my Coven.......
Nothing wrong with a stamp
However if you do something special like a make a personal comment then it means so much more
i personally don't mine stamps i have one myself and just because i use a stamp dosn't mean that i don't read the profiles in which i do.
I use my stamp all the time if you rread one profile & apericate what they do , and if the stamp isn`t that big ..
I see nothing wrong with them..
Sleen
i read the profiles but i still use my stamp i dont see what is bad about it
I don't see anything wrong with stamps it's a perk of being a premium member, although I haven't taken the time to create my own yet. The only problem I have seen is when someone uses a large picture and it throws someone's profile out of whack for a while. I think people should be considerate and use a picture of a reasonable size so it doesn't throw the style of someone's profile off that they worked hard to get to look a certain way.
stamps and comments like 'nice profile', '10' really annoy me. I usually read profiles, and use my stamp only when there's nothing to comment on.
i have no problem with them , actually i like seeing the differences people come up with
I do not mind stamps, i have one and use it and i take the time to read the porfiles that i have stamped.
i think stamps are fine, i dont have one yet, but when i see them i like what i see
I like them, but i find it better when people also write some words to it, because just a stamp is like the people really aren`t interested in the pro
I have no problem w/ stamps. I have one, which I love to use because it was made for me by my coven master. I think that it was extremely cool of him to take time out of his day to make one for me (and anyone else in our coven who wanted one), so why would I want to keep it hidden and not use it?
As far as whether or not I read a profile, well, that actually depends on the profile. If you have text that is hard to read, or your profile is so busy that it makes my eyes hurt to look at it, then no I won't read it...what I will do, is scroll down, tell you why I didn't read it and move on. I leave my stamp for people whose profile I enjoy and want to share a little bit of myself with. Besides, who the hell can be creative enough to leave a unique comment on every single profile they look at???
As for having stamps on my profile, I love it. :) I like seeing the creativity of people on this site. Keep stamping! It shows a bit of your personality and shows that you care enough about your profile to make every aspect of it unique.
So, bring on the stamps!!!
I look at the profile then stamp it. If I need or want to communicate something to that person then I message them.
I like when people stamp my profile as long as it isn't one of those gigantic stamps that widens your page.. If someone doesn't like stamps then don't use them. Why anyone would say don't stamp my page is beyond me. Only 3 comments show at one time then they bump down off your page. Let people have some fun, don't be so controlling over nothing.
I do not think their is anything wrong with stamps, just because someone uses a stamp does not mean they do not read a profile, i personally do not care if someone stamps my profile or not...
Looks like this is a no win situation....some of us like em and some of us don't.
I am such a dumbo with coms, if I had a stamp it would be just one more mess to clear up lol
There's nothing wrong with stamping, it's one of the perks of being a premium member on this site. Instead of typing out the code all we have to do is check the stamp box when we rate.
As far as people not reading profiles, well, you can't really tell if someone has read your profile or not, not unless they've messaged you about something specific in your profile. There are alot of profiles on this site also that only take about 2 seconds to read.
people can complain and moan about stamps all day and night but as far as im concerned I have the right to use and I choose too do so I do read many profiles and I give rating based on info layout and other factors so I do rate everyone honorilly.
i have chosen not to use a stamp. i prefer to make a tailored comment to the profile.
however, stamps do not bother me in the least.
people put a lot of time and effort into them... usually they are very creative and personalized to that person. i've always considered stamps another way to get to know people on here. they are little impressions of ourselves we can leave on each other's profiles.
I do not mind stamps, and I would have to agree just because someone left there stamp does not mean they did not read the profile. In the Polls forum there is a Poll asking if people read profiles and from the Poll, most do. I do think there are a few that need to be re-sized as stated here.
i think stamps are gr8.....i mean theres nothing bad about them.....
I am a premium member and have the priviledge to use my stamp when I rate profiles. I read every profile I rate. If the profile says to not stamp, I stamp anyway. It is my stamp and I will use it. IF I come across a truly unique profile I will add a message with my stamp.
stamps are great and i dont mind them. And it sometimes is hard to read everything on a page so a stamp can save a person having to type a thousand nice profile comments
For the most part, it's the same for me as with Trivia...although I do have to admit that I have my days where I'm a stamp-whore and only stop to read the profile I'm stamping if something catches my eye.
Heh...they say honesty is the best policy, but I doubt this'll earn me any friends. Oh well.
I think anyone who is trying to make status is a stamp-whore. When I see a profile with one box that tells about the person...I sometimes just stamp the profile and move on. Saves time!
I dont mind stamps and I have one myself, saying to those who have stamp they can use it is like saying to a person who has pay for discount by bying a membership in a store that becuase you dont like it they cant use it and its wrong for them, I paid for it and thats the reason I use it, as for reading I do read, regardless if there is a little or a lot, I read it all.
I beleive telling in your profile you dont want stamp or you'll block it means you consider that Cancer giving priviledge for those who choose and wats to pay for it is wrong, and that you are above VR's website, since the site itself allows those bying the right for stamps to use it.
Think about it you go to a nice gothic clothing store the woman in front of you has a member card and will save 35% on all she buys, you tell the owner fo the card and the store: DONT USE IT! CAUSE I'LL BLOCK YOU
Honeslty, you would look pretty dumb, please no offence, just that it would not be logical and also would be wrong of you.
Its the same with the stamps.
PLus to me when I stamp it means a 10, so no stamp means less. My stamp is like my own name signature.
I don't like them much because well they are pretty I admit n some are funny but i like knowing peoples opinions on my page n more personal than see a person with the exact same thing on their profile.
Heh, then I guess we're all stamp-whores...that's the only reason we rate, isn't it? It helps the status of both parties, the rater and the rate-ee.
I agree with Crying Mist.
I recently rated a profile. I really nice profile. And it said not to stamp. I stamped it. The person came to my profile and rated me a 1. Then I received a message from that person telling me why I received a 1. Out of curiosity I asked if he had read my profile. He said no.
I think it is disrespectful to downrate anyone for using a stamp. Cancer gave me the right and I am using it!
I can promise you, I do read the profiles I rate.I like the stamps as I think they are an expression of individuality and creativity.
If I see a profile that is exceptional I will make a comment.
i find stamps just part of the rating system and i don't mind but what i hate is when i stamp someone and they rate me a one because of the stamp and not because of how my profile rates..
such as this member did
https://www.vampirerave.com/profiles2.php?profile=Nezumiiro
even though i have no stamps, i don't see anything wrong with them, its just ppls way of saying that they have visited ur profile.
i use a stamp, but i usually add a few little words too. unless the person i'm rating hasnt actually bothered to put any effort into their profile - but usually i wont even bother to rate them in that case.
Yes, I'm a new premium member but I do read the profiles before using my stamp... And by stamping to i think is beter than saying nothing because at least the person can see what they got rated. I enjoy the stamp and i believe it's something good since only premium members can use it, you have to pay to use it ^.^
This topic constantly gets recycled for debate and it always ends with this sentence: it doesn't matter if you like stamps or not. They were designed by Cancer to be a part of the Vampire Rave experience.
