what do u guys think of the t.v. show Ghost Hunters? is all that stuff real or fake?

I think some of it is real but alot of it can be fake.. I have been in a few situations myself. How ever your beliefs are in tv shows and such it is the person that must believe.....

I honestly think that more than 9/10 of the show is put in after editing. Most of the time you can even tell they are all acting.
Its a scam on television to make money. Just my opinion.

The ones on UK tv are garbage...indeed one man, cant remember his name, was proven to be a fake.

I really like the show because they approach everything from a scientific perspective. I’m not saying that I doubt psychic abilities but it is neat to see the scientific 'proof' to back it up.

i personally believe that it is real because they are always trying to disprove hauntings not prove them, and they barley find anything

I'd be more convinced if they were "live" and you could actually see the things they are reacting to. Usually someone screams and then the camera moves around and you can't see anything. I do like the show though there is always that doubt factor- that it was a member of the crew with a broomstick pushing stuff around right before the camera swish.

Oh I believe it's real. They have shown to many epsiodes that are unexplainable . Especially the one one the Sharon Tate Murders with Manson . I love that show and watch it all the time . But I'm a big beliver in Ghosts cause I have seen them and had to many experiences not to believe .

I think some of it is real, but I dont really watch ghosthunters, I rather watch Most Haunted Live, which is based on real life, it is really differcult to say, but I have seen a spirit myself, so I know that spirits do exist. It depends on the beliefs of people that watch it.

I think the little that is real is over-dramatized for effect.

I think its fake. There are shows that are nothing but fake. Give me the propper equipment and even I can figure out a way to make "ghosts" as they say they are finding.

They have had some pretty freaky shows that show things that cant be explained .

well i don't know about Ghost Hunters, but if its anything like the show Ghost Hunt - made in new zealand - it'd be great! Anyone ever seen that?

i truely enjoy the show...but sometimes i believe that everything they show is a little dull and there has even been episodes where nothing appears and if it does then jason and grant feel that its nothing...ive only seen several episodes in which they clame there is actual paranormal activity...

i like the show very much but one cant believe what is seen on television...i would love to say that all of it is real but they are also after ratings and in a rating war with the travel channels most haunted... :)

I belive that if I walked around in the dark for long enough with a camera I could have scare footage too.

most of it is real ive been on a few real ones and most are real.

I watch this show alot and I really like it because they go in to disprove instead of looking to find things. They are plumbers by day, and they search out reasons for drafts, pipes banging, water turning on by itself, doors that supposedly open by themselfs. They check very thoroughly in my opinion. They carefully analyze everything and have even found things where other people have messed with their equipment to make it appear to be a ghost. If they were out to make us believe things that weren't true, they wouldn't have pointed out the truth.
This particular show was on a ship called The Queen Mary I believe? In California. Anyway, the camera showed the covers being pulled back and down and no one was there. They were excited at first, and thought they had found something till one of the tech guys noticed that the camera had been toyed with. Basically someone would stop the camera, go move the cover back a little, start it back, and so on till it appeared that it went along way down the bed.
They were upset at this, but no one watching that show would have known that if THEY had not pointed it out. They could of left us believing that it really happened and they didn't. They do things like this a lot.
A lot of their shows its true, things do not happen, but that just makes me consider they may be authenticl. Also, you have to take into consideration that Ghosts and Spirits may not show themselves the time GH happens to be there, they don't get to stay a real long time at each place.
The Most Haunted, I am not as sure about, I don't know what it is, I just don't get the same trusting feeling from them. The psychic Derek or whatever makes me feel like most of what he says is bs. They scream at every noise and he is "talking" to spirits and some of the info has no basis, because it tells at the bottom of the screen if a person by that name ever lived there. Usually the names do not match up. They go in looking for things to happen and trying to find things, where as the GH group goes in to disprove or find logical reasons why something happened.

I am just waiting on my night to stay at a haunted closed Prison here in Ohio.. waiting list up to 2 yrs.. wohoo.. You can actually sleep in a cell and they tell you to bring extra batteries and such for camera..

What's the name of the prison? I want to go to Waverly Hills Sanatorium in KY but it is HUGE. It was the place where they treated Tuberculosis, and 63,000 people died. Its sad, they had a body shoot because so many people were dying they were stacking them up and just shooting them down this long tunnel, for the families to pick up the bodies.

I've watched the show, and I think that some of it is real. Especially since the point is to disprove that the places are haunted. Some of it probably is edited and all. Most tv shows are. I believe in ghosts and spirits so I think it is entirely possible that some of the stuff they show is real. I've had enough of my own experiences to know these things exist. I guess it's all in what you believe. If you don't believe ghosts exist then you would probably think it was all fake.

some of it may be bassed of true stories...but who really knows...there is so much that is fake on TV now a days...

The wife and I presume it is fake, mostly since none of what they do is the usual I want to talk to the spirit stuff, and we always count how many times they say Sh*t. Always around 50 times or so each episode. Fun drinking game actually.

A good tv based ghost show is the one where they try to proof the haunting is a fake. That is some good watching.

I never believe what is on tv, all tv shows want is rateings, so i can not be 100% possitive that they are real or fake, but it is a good show to watch...

On that note, the only things I watch on tv now adays is wrestling and maybe the learning channels ie. History, TLC, and the Discovery network. Among CSI and Soundscapes on the music network.

But you are absolutely correct, they are all in it for the ratings. Just think though, of how many more individuals in the world are employed. Think of it that way.

After reading this thread we went to tvlinks and looked for it. After seeing all of 30 seconds I can tell it's just gonna be like Most Haunted - big crew, loads of footage of them being scared, and not much about what they're scared about.

hmm... i think i've watched it, once.

but any tv show on ghosts & ghost-hunting just has to be edited at some points. i mean, it takes months and months to establish constant contact with a real ghost... and ghosts don't usually appear on camera, filming/photographing ghosts ain't *that* easy. and mostly, messages from ghosts happen only in ones' mind. well, a Geiger counter or something of that kind can be used to sense changes in magnetism but mainly... that's all an "outsider" can see. you know? i think tv ghosts are 60%-70% fake.

I haven't seen the one your speaking of, but we have had an aussie version of ghost hunters. At times you can tell they were putting it on a bit, but other times you could clearly tell that it was bonafide and real.

I got rid of my cable but when I get the chance to check out the ghost hunter show they are fun to watch.Kinda hokey

I watch it all the time and I do believe that alot of it is real. Yeah I am sure some of the stuff could be not so real.

Ghost hunters are the people who hunt for the spirt of the ghost and the beginning of where it started. Once they find the sorce of where the activity is they rite a documentury and then studie it .
Also they hunt ghost where ever they are called or feel cold .

Well I have got to say that Taps are 100% real because I have met them and they are a real cool group of people. I met them last year at a old hosp. were it is said that over 63,000 people died from tb. and i also went went ghost hunting with them there but it coast out the ass, but it was all real because with the gifts I have i saw them and they did not but they knew that there was sumthing there with me even telling them. So they are real 100%

Well ghost are real. I like taps because if you ever show that one were they was at the hosp. called waverly hills. then you know they are not fake because everything they saw was real because i have been with my own 2 eyes and everyone knows that place is haunted and they all also know that a little girl looks out of the 3rd. window. So I know that they are not fake and that they love what they do.

I have to agree with darkwiccan that some of the stuff you see is real on there but some of the noises are or could be from another member of the crew which they do try to sort out what is real and what is not real.

I believe in ghosts, i've seen one but most of the t.v shows are people just freaking and screaming over nothing when the lights go out, it's human nature. most haunted is one of the worst offenders. Even if they are geniunely trying to 'hunt' ghosts, ghosts don't come to a roll call, most of the sightings are pure chance.

i agree with the one above me i think what they are doing is to prove or disprove the woories a bout haunted place and trying to help the people involved

That is true you always see these ghost type shows talking about everything but they almost never really show anything, usually it is them talking for 25 minutes then they think they see or hear something for the next 5 minutes then they talk for the next 30 minutes about what they may have heard or seen then they usually come to the conclusion that they will never know if it was a ghost or not or that they are sure it was a ghost. i really do not believe these types of show, but again they are alright to watch...

Most Haunted is an awsome show, and they both have some believable shows that look really real to me .
