Reincarnation is a possible thing, so many do believe this. However, how do you think that it works? Do you think that when someone passes away that their soul lingers around for a little while to see if it would be good to go into a unborn child or to go a different direction? And Why?.

I believe you get one soul. Rather than going into something else, I think it remains with your spirit to watch over your loved ones.

This is something that is I have been wondering about for a long time and I am interested in hearing what everyone has to say.

Speaking for myself , I believe that we all get one soul and one soul only.

I think our soul travels though many different bodies durring different generations..

I think when our body dies we go to a higher place where we are re used so to speak and re born . I think each life tells your soul something new so it can go on again into another life.. I think eventually after so many re births you soul retires and you live in the here after..

i thank that reincarnation is a form of pentince for bad deeds a way of changing ones soul to the better learning lessions on the way

I think that when we pass away, we review our lives and based on that review we have a hand in deciding on what lessons still need to be learned etc.

Depending on what need to be learned and how....we reincarnate.

It's so easy to say that, when we die our soul gets reincarnated, but, is there truly any proof of this assumption?

There are numurous books outlining past life memories etc.....

There are many many people who can recall vivid memories of experiences in past lives. I myself get "flashes" from time to time of living in medieval Britain, as a very lowly serf. As I am in a service oriented job at present I find it fascinating that I am doing what I did so long ago, in a manner of speaking.

I believe in reincarnation, I think that once we pass on that our spirit is automatically put into something else like an unborn baby or something like that. I am not really sure I could be wrong we all could be wrong because no one really knows what happens after we die.

I believe Faith makes reality: Which means for hose who believe in heaven that is where they will go and those who believe you have the choice will have the choice. Those who believe in nothing will die and will have nothing.

My personal belief is that your soul decided when and if it will return. Its not a forced thing. We live lives to learn lessons and as long as the souls wishes to try we can keep learning.

What happens to me after death? Reincarnation, eternal life, heaven and hell, they are all answers that humans use to comfort themselves because they can't stand the thought of there being nothing beyond their few moments here on earth.
Some people claim to have been reincarnated numerous times and many of them claim to have been the same historical figures in a past life. Sorry, there haven't been enough people in the past for all of us to have had multiple lives.

I'm not sure anyone can say that the math for reincarnation does'nt add up.

Nor can they say that it does add up. It is still a matter of personal believe and it doesn't matter how much reason or science you apply none of us will ever be able to prove it one way or another. It will reamain a matter of opinion.

i believe when our mortal bodies pass our soul is passed into a different dimension, to look after the life we lead and the ones who surround us. to regain or pass into a new soul, hard to ponder, for a body born without a soul waiting for a soul to enter heh. a lifeless body in otherwords. a puzzle to ponder. right now i would tempt to say no on the choice of entering a new body.

One of my theories is that when our bodies die, our soul will never die or be destroyed, however, there will be an afterlife for it and it can decide to stay or return for earth to right the wrongs done or just b/c it's enjoys to reside within a body.

I think that the spirit of someone who passes stays for awhile. I am not sure if the spirit stays to watch over loved ones or if they are just waiting for something to open up to be reincarnated into too. There are many possiblities as to why the spirit stays and where they go when they do go. I think the only way that we will know for sure is when we, ourselves, pass and become spirits. Carpe Noctem

Life is energy. The fact is that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only change forms. So whether it is a question of going to heaven or hell, being reincarnated, or hanging around as a spirit, the fact is that something continues after death. Whether any of us would recognise it is another question.

I don't believe it does either. But I'm not sure I truly believe in the soul either. There is something there, energy, a force, but is it what we usually think of as a soul. I just don't know.

When one thinks about it, though, it does make sense that reincarnation is a factor of our existence. What else could possibly explain why some are so wise, and some seem to have no concept or common sense as to how to live life?

Im not sure if i believe in recarnation, and if it is possible i believe the soul chooses its path whether to live another life or not.

I think that everyone is allowed one soul and one choice, to live or die. Your soul is your own and no one elses.

I was raised Christian and have often wondered what happens. It was a pleasure reading everyones opinion.

I hope it works in the way that the soul gets recycled so to speak but wonder if it is not just that our energy lingers after we are gone.

I personally do believe in reincarnation. I don't think that you reincarnate straight away when you die however, there may be a "waiting period" so to speak. Maybe your spirit wants to watch over the people it was closest to in this life for a little while. Maybe it is called to act as a guide for another person. Many things would temporarily halt the reincarnation cycle. However eventually you would reincarnate as another being in order to learn and fully experience everything that life had to offer you.

I like to think of substituting terminology.
Given "souls" and "spirit" is similiar.
Given that some believe all things have spirit.
Each thing could be said to have a soul. experiencing existence for a time as that thing in whatever capacity...
There is no relation to past lives or number of having existed.. nor do I Think that we have to limit the reincarnation to a linear time line that we are understanding of .. or even .. * gasps *

I don't think you have a choice.Not much of a choise on what you are going to be alive as what you look like and so on.When you die..it's just the body that dies.Your spirit and lifeforce goes on to just become a higher being,another state of exsitance.
No one really knows..what happens to become another being living on this earth.I'd like someone to answer is to IF they remember -how- they got there body.Someone must have rules that you fallow into what you do and how you live after your life here..as well an earthly being.

i speak as one who has been reincornated many times and yes its the souls choice to linger but they can't choose wich infent to got into once they choose to return to life they are born into the next availible body.

I believe that most souls are once-borns, i.e. they live once and then stick around to watch over their loved ones.

Some, however, choose to come back lifetime after lifetime. They see it as their duty to protect the balance of the earth and the cycles of nature.

I am not sure about the soul of a dead man becomes what . And i think one's soul transmitted into other one's soul .soul never destroys, it always live among us.

Depends on the basis of your religious belief. The Bhagivad Gita states that your soul is re-incarnated in the body of an animal, depending on how you live your life.

I don't believe at all that after you die your soul can go into an unborn child, even if you wanted it too.

My thought on this is that you get one soul. I believe that through your life time maybe your soul takes different shapes and forms with all the life experiences you go through..so along with every major change in your life your soul also changes..something like dieing and being reborn again because you are different with every change? I know it sounds confusing but it makes sense to me. :)

I would be speculating here, only as "no one" knows what the other side offers. I use the term no one in parenthesis as some could and do, just choose not to come out into the open as ridicule from society would deem fit to justify with citiques beyond measure.

All souls have their journies, regardless the outcomes. For many, it is to live in another time, another life. Others it is never to be reborn, but to serve where the need sees fit by universal law. Again, this is speculation.

But one thing I do know for certain, that in my previous life, I did live in the city I live in now. In this life, I chose to live in this city after I knew I lived here previously. My old house I am still searching for, but it is quite clear in my dreams. Most places in this city, I can describe to a T, without looking at them, this is the vividness of my dreams. This is not clairvoyance...Simply past life regression at its finest.

Believe which you choose to believe, but remember, it is all very real, and very deep. The body may die, but the soul is indefinitly eternal.

Yes Soul and Spirit are words that are sometimes interchanged.

I call the Soul...oversoul a kind of puppet master if you like....and the Spirit as a part of that Soul.

If I accept the idea of reincarnation as I do then it follows that it may indeed be possible that our Spirits also animate bodies on other realities.

Though I know that idea is a tad 'out there' for some people lol

i truely believe that a soul stays with you and when you pass on you actualy are reborn same life same choices and you are stuck in this patteren until you get it right

They wait to see what direction they are going to go but as always there are un finished business for souls and spirits

I believe we choose to come back...Choosing situations to be born into that will best help us learn the lessons necessary to fulfill our spiritual paths.. We do this as many times as needed to learn and evolve...

I do not believe in reincarnation. Has anyone seen John Edwards? There are a LOT of psychics out there who I believe are more psycho than psychic but he knows things that very few to no other people could know other than the deceased he is speaking with. I fully believe that after a person passes to the other side, they are still around. If they have lived a good life they watch over their loved ones. For years, both myself and my mom have felt hands on our backs during times of depression or need. I felt it as a child and never realized what it was, it actually scared the heck out of me. There is only one you, someone else born can not be you again, maybe some similarities but never the same.

Your right we are not likely to come back as the same person., but our soul could have the same mission..

I believe you only have the one soul but it is so immense and grows continually as you amass knowledge and grow. I also believe that only part of your soul can inhabit a body at one time so its possible you can be here for a short time in another body if you so choose to as a Karmic obligation or to help someone else out with a lesson they wish to learn in this life time.

I believe your soul rejoins its higher self and then you decide where you want to go to next until you have learnt all you can and can pass on to other levels of existance.

I think/feel you have the choice. Also you pick what you wish to learn. ex. tolerance, willingness to help others. So you work on what you need to reach a higher self.

I'm not sure about the whole reincarnation thing. I think some people have past lives and may have dreams about them or even think like them. I don't think I personally have a past life because I think my spirit is my own, but I think a few souls reside inside me. Fallen souls...

i believe that if when you died it was a wrongful death, you come back and right the wrong. but if your death was the right time then you pass onto the next world

I would like to think that our souls watch over our loved ones. But I am a "show me" type of person. So, I can't say it to be true. As far as reincarnated, I can understand the feelings behind it, but that has also not been proven to me. I would love these questions to be answered for me. But I guess it's something none of us will TRULY know until after we die. Right?

Well I believe the soul makes a choice when it moves on from life to life, whether to sit still and assimulate all it learns, fulfil karmic obligations made for others or to return and continue its journey.

I think we all tend to think in the concept of time, and time is an earthy aspect not a spiritual one. When the soul rests in limbo there is no time minutes or centuries could pass and it wouldn't know, it returns and resumes its journey when its ready and know when it is right to.

I like the point wensala makes. I don't know that I believe in reincarnation but if it exists then I think, as she says, when we come back it is with the same mission. Otherwise there is no need to come back.

I do belive that souls do get passed arround in a figure of speaking. I think that all souls are sorta stuck in a limbo that until the right host/ person comes along for the soul to be reincarnated. I dont think it would be just like the person the soul inhabbited before. because of diffrent time changes, yota yota.

I believe that the soul decides what lessons it needs to learn, and from that, compiles a list of possible lives to live.

I also believe that my soul made a very bad desicion picking this life. -_-

Over time I have come to accept reincarnation as a mechanic that "souls" operate under. One soul through many lives with the ultimate goal of ascension or an enlightened ethereal being. Life is kind of like school. :)

Human souls and animal souls are on separate paths. No Human will come back as some animal. It takes time for most Humans to regather their soul essence after they cross the veil. Then you need time to recoup. After awhile you will enjoy what you experience on the other-side. After which you will be brought to a council of twelve. It is here that your life will be reviewed and decisions will be made for your next journey. This takes a couple of hundreds of your years at the earliest. It has been done this way for aeons. It will continue to be this way again for you.

I believe that when we die our soul is reborn into another body so that we can see all aspects of life and once we have seen everything and done everything in this incarnation we are reborn again...

I believe re-incarnation is just what happens when a soul goes from one host to another and not only remembers their past but projects that unto their host which then does things to make other people believe they are someone from the past
