Is there any truth to the study and practice to alchemy. Please post with some information on the subject

If you mean the alchemy that was the precursor to metallurgy, where the main goal was to convert base metals into gold, then no, there is no plausibility in it.

However, there are other types of alchemy that will always be applicable.

The only alchemy I know is spiritual alchemy, which teaches how to transmutate your spirit into something higher...An ascended master.

The alchemy of the physical was an allegorical teaching from changing base metals into gold giving the individual example knowledge on how to manifest the soul to a higher level.

The signs, symbols, metals, and whathaveyou that are related to the alchemical teachings, are there for learning purposes. As each symbol represents a quality, or element surrounding the aspects of the soul.

The question is what are you trying to achieve? General transmutation of something? Or do you just want to play god? Either are fun, and acceptable.

In my opinnion, the most worthy/usefull thing to attend to first is the creation of the Elixir of Life, since that one sounds most amasing! and it would enable the needed time to play with all the other unlimited conbinations wich the idea of alchemy has to offer.

There is no set place to start, but if you are going for transmutations...Transmutations are creations set from the diagram of the mind to the physical. Always go for a amathyst maltese cross. This is the easiest beginning.

Attaining the elixir of life should be the last thing on your list to achieve. As the philosophers stone is needed for such a task.

Wait Wait, so as I get it, or not, you are saying that alchemy should be perfomed with ones inner spiritual being, maybe concetrating on few material sources meant as media, as some sort of chanell?

Half correct, the spirtual side is perfect, but do not depend on media. The typing skills I was refering to was to do some research on the meanings of some or all of the alchemical symbols...As they are allegories for the souls in all aspects as I have stated before.

Each is a tool...Learn to use them all, and you will find a greater advantage when dealing with alchemy.

Its not just transmutation, it is also for learning the unknown. As there is no greater path than that of alchemy, as it combines all magiks into a single category if used in the proper ways.

That is a very formitable meditation technique, but to attain that higher level of awareness may take years. You cannot simply state that you are at that higher level and just feel it.

The voilet flame is another big issue when using alchemy. As this flame grows, so does your awareness.

Quick addedendum to the point while im able to make it.

So many have walked down the path of transformations, with meditations like that, and have considered the spiritual alchemy as taught by Crowley to have those words as all they need.

But you must do the practice, to fully be able to understand the power innate in those words.

You might have the potential to be a godforce. But without the sciences of application to learn how to apply your energies, you are nothing more then energy inhabiting a vessel like the rest of us.

Alchemy is just another form of overall science. There may be some aspects that are not possible (turning something into gold) yet, like all sciences, many things that we may think aren't possible in fact are. There are ways of doing anything if the mind is willing to believe and search for the path to make it so.

Interesting thing is that modern science can turn one element into another. Nuclear science allows for the changing the atomic structure of an atom. Adding protons and neutrons to create new elements. The very heavy elements were artificially created as scientific experiments. The elements are unstable and don't last very long. I don't know if anyone tried to turn lead into gold in a particle excelerator, but it probably can be done. It's just not worth the cost.

The issue alchemists had years ago was that they were dealing at a chemical level, changing states of matter and creating new compounds or molecules, but they didn't understand the atom and how the elements were different at an atomic level.

As far as spiritual alchemy, that is a much more interesting area.

The alchemies are always odd readings. This is what makes the art so hard to understand. If you grasp the concept, then you at least have your foot through the door.

If you move past the pop culture hype Alchemy was simple and honest attempts at understanding and manipulating the natural world. As others have pointed out, it was the precursor to modern chemistry with a blend of mysticism.
