just was wondering what theories you all have on crop circles...i do believe that some are hoaxes...but also that some are formations made by Mother Earth...used as a message to let us know that we must change our ways...does anyone really believe that these crop circles are really made by aliens?
Many have admitted to having made the circles as fraud in the night, and there are those that have not. Its possible both ways that mother earth is trying to tell us to take care of her, and it is also possible that aliens are visiting us. The Universe is vast, and we can't even see past our own solar system. The Earth still holds many mysteries, many wonders for us to see. We do need to take care of her, and perhaps in her own way she does try to speak to us, when the wind blows, when the water crashes at the bottom of a water fountain. Or the simple sound of leaves blowing in the wind. She is calling out to us to take care of what we have.

.. research shows that crop-circle crazes are fueled considerably by media attention, says Joe Nickell, an internationally known "paranormal investigator" at the Committee for Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) in Amherst, N.Y.
Please note that the title includes Claims of the Para-Normal, if one was made in front of your face, would you think the people where possessed by aliens? Or by the spirit of mother nature, what is a crop circle appeared as a religious symbol .. would you believe it was divine inspired?
The explainations that I have gotten and read about, they are man made.
A joke that people has bitten into being of another planet theory.
The process is now done in an artistic way.. teams challenge each other.
Source Wiki..
On the night of July 11-12, 1992, a crop-circle making competition, for a prize of several thousand UK pounds (partly funded by the Arthur Koestler Foundation), was held in Berkshire. The winning entry was produced by three helicopter engineers, using rope, PVC pipe, a trestle and a ladder. Another competitor used a small garden roller, a plank and some rope.
I believe many are fakes, but the real ones I feel are made much in the way of cymatic patterns. Most of those "real" cirlces incidently ,manifest on top of water aquifers..Frequency + water =crop circle.
I have some stuff about them in my journal under the nature of magic. I think it is a natural phenomenon.
https://www.vampirerave.com/journals/journal_section.php?section=stories&journal=Oceanne&page=June%202008
Ive been researching sound and its relation to magic for a while now, and should have something published pretty soon.... if interested.
Pushing the crops down to form elaborate circles is time consuming but can be man made. I personally believe most circles fall into that category. However in some instances the crop circles are accompanied with radiation and metallic particles not native to the region. To create those features would require a lot of time and extreme effort to get the machinery to accomplish the nonphysical affects.
There must be a lot of bored individuals out there then!
A few nights ago I saw a program that depicted MIT students trying to duplicate a crop circle over night. It turned out to be a difficult process, but they were able to complete a pretty basic geometrical circle and duplicate some of the nonphysical affects that crop circles boast. If your interested in reading about it, here is one such story on the MIT class project.
I believe that it would be far too time consuming to be man made...plus I'm sure someone would notice it being done.
Still unexplainable phenomenon in my book though.
yes it would be time consuming, but i like to look at them as another form of artistic expression, no matter who made them.
they can be beautiful or artistic, but i dought alians are to blame for them. A lot of them are hoxes, I think you are right dark, some maybe messages from mother nature, but i can not see an alian being the cause of a crop circle.
havent heard of any recent ones... hmmm makes me wonder 2 things... are they a hoax and if not why havent they been as frequent as they were b-4....
i belive that most crop cirlcels are a hoax as well... since the first ones, in which i think could be real, people have tried to make money and become rich n famous off of doing them themselves.. so people would think that aliens dropped ship onthier land ... im not denying the existance... im just aying some people are more than greedy..
thats my opinion tho lol
from something i just read there was a report of crop circles as far back as 1678 in England Of course this was before a camera was invented so this was documented in a wood cut...and that most believed this was the work of the devil..well like the book i was reading explained though, back then anything that couldnt be expliained was always considered the devils work.
Aliens have carved beard circles in my beard.. how about a parking lot.. I could do a parking lot, I could do a real brain pleaser.. as a matter of fact I can land a UFO in a parking lot, and when the team gets to the trianglated spot there would be a scorch in the asphalt.. and then for a finale I would point to the UFO zipping its way into the sky..
i think some are made by kids playing games but some may be true and made from thigns we cant not expline
Im with you darllessons as in some have been hoaxes and some not
I think that some are really made by aliens, but most are hoaxes
Anyone in this thread ever happen to look at the effects of elctromagnetics or sound has on water ?
i think it might be a act of nature but i could be wrong
I've seen lightning strikes and wind sheers do some weird shit out on the plains.
from what I heard and saw on tv, it looks as though it is a very easy thing to go out in the middle of the night with a couple guys and all you need are a couple planks and some rope to do it. you tie one end of the rope to the plank and hold the other end in the center and flatten the crop on the field working from the inside of the circle out until its the size you want, and continue until all of the circles are made. If you do it fast enought you are typically done before morning.
because of this, i have absolutely no reason to believe they are not anything other than man-made
did any one ever think that aliens did it? maybe not all of them but hey any thing is possible, mother earth, if she was saying any thing, it wouldnt be a warning, it would be a death sentance, the human race sucks
I think there hoaxes if it was real you think it be more see I mean if they can fly to here sure there not going to be to shy now
I agree Train. I mean I'm sure there are other beings out there. I'd hate to thing we are a freak of Nature *looking around the Rave* Then again, maybe not. lol
Some can go with the alien theory,Im sticking a little closer to home...What I dont understand is that anytime man achieves something great,or something fantastic occurs in this world,it always has to be attributed to aliens or "paranormal" There are many here who claim they worship mother earth and all that..why not try to learn a little about her and the energies affecting her..It is so much more fantastic than so many realize.
There is a ton of evidence that lends to the fact that these circles are simply products of energies that occur around the planet. And honest,if back in the 1600s where there really drunk dudes out there making these type of designs with sticks and ropes? If so,then I stand corrected.
Incidently there are significant differences in patterns that are man made and those believed not to be.
One of the theories that I have heard is that these images are pagan rituals. However, I have never seen or read about anything to document religious excursions to create the images.
The electromagnetic field opens up natural causes as well for the circles. Of course this is more likely in the traditional circle as opposed to the intricate geometrical designs.
Meeper,Ive heard that too, and I really believe that happens .I think it all depends on the circle.
Now all the ones with the binary codes and that? Im really not sure whats going on there, but all of the sacred geometry patterns and such, frequency has been prooven to create.Frequency is the universal language..spoken by the universe. It would stand to reason that it would manifest in pattern.
Oceanne makes a good point.
However after seeing a documentary on Uk tv a couple of years ago I was amazed at the lengths people go to, to fake these things.
There are competitions between 'cropsters' here in the Uk ...as someone has said...how bored do you have to be lol
They really do Sinora, and thats what makes it essential to determine which is which. But ,there are distinct features that exclude the real ones from the fakes.
Any theories on the binary codes that have been imprinted into some of the more recent circles other than aliens? I tend to be skeptical about aliens living messages for us in crops as a prefered communication method.
Oceanne > any chance you could post a pic here so we could all take a look ?
The Chilbolton crop phenomenon is anther with coding and I think quite a bit more fascinating than the photo I posted from UK. I would advice anyone interested to click here to read about the image.

Beat me to it,nice link Meeper..also here is another on the circles in general if interested..
http://www.cropcircleconnector.com/2008/barbury/barbury2008a.html
Also, here is a vid I pulled from my journal pretaining to the binary code.
Now this person believes they have found the answer..I dont know about that, but the vid has some pretty good depictions and comparisons, done in an artful type of format. You will notice alot of spinning in this vid..there is a reason behind that.Anyway he feels the messages pretain to 2012 as well.
There is also some footage out that supposedly captures the phenomenon in formation.
This vid speaks of eletromagnetics and how the circles are blueprints for a starship..
I do not believe crop circles are made by aliens. The things I have seen regarding this phenomenon, is they can be and some actually have been explained by humans, being creative!
Crop circles have always fascinated me. The hoaxes as well as the unexplained. One of the aspects of crop circles that I find interesting is that they have been doing soil samplings of the circles, and what they hae come up with, is that the soil has unusually high quantities of nitrogen after a formation has appeared.
Also, as several articles explained, "..there are significant differences between normal plants and those taken from crop circles, leading the team to conclude that the observed electromagnetic changes are impossible to hoax through mechanical flattening of crops".
Here is some interesting information regarding crop circles, as well as information about the crop circles that have not been able to be explained through the hoaxes.
Please do read as it is very interesting as well as informative.
An article showing geometric theorem linked to music through a crop circle. Something never heard of prior to this:
Several years ago, astronomer Gerald S. Hawkins, former Chairman of the astronomy department at Boston University, noticed that some of the most visually striking of the crop-circle patterns embodied geometric theorems that express specific numerical relationships among the areas of various circles, triangles, and other shapes making up the patterns (Science News: 2/1/92, p. 76). In one case, for example, an equilateral triangle fitted snugly between an outer and an inner circle. It turns out that the area of the outer circle is precisely four times that of the inner circle.Three other patterns also displayed exact numerical relationships, all of them involving a diatonic ratio, the simple whole-number ratios that determine a scale of musical notes. "These designs demonstrate the remarkable mathematical ability of their creators," Hawkins comments.Hawkins found that he could use the principles of Euclidean geometry to prove four theorems derived from the relationships among the areas depicted in crop circles. He also discovered a fifth, more general theorem, from which he could derive the other four (see diagram, left). "This theorem involves concentric circles which touch the sides of a triangle, and as the [triangle] changes shape, it generates the special crop-circle geometries," he says.Hawkins' fifth crop-circle theorem involves a triangle and various concentric circles touching the triangle's sides and corners. Different triangles give different sets of circles. An equilateral triangle produces one of the observed crop-circle patterns; three isosceles triangles generate the other crop-circle geometries. What is most surprising is that all geometries give diatonic (musical) ratios. Never before have geometric theorems been linked with music. Curiously, Hawkins could find no reference to such a theorem in the works of Euclid or in any other book that he consulted. When he challenged readers of Science News and The Mathematics Teacher to come up with his unpublished theorem, given only the four variations, no one reported success. In July 1995, however, "the crop-circle makers . . . showed knowledge of this fifth theorem," Hawkins reports. Among the dozens of circles surreptitiously laid down in the wheat fields of England, one pattern fit Hawkins' theorem based on the stringent definitions, on the rules established by the circles over the period 1980 to the present. The Circlemakers responsible for this old-fashioned type of mathematical ingenuity remain at large and unknown. Their handiwork flaunts a facility with Euclidean geometry and signals an astonishing ability to bend living plants without cracking stalks, and to trace out complex, precise patterns, most under cover of darkness, with a few notable exceptions during daytime.
NOTE: The circlemakers' fifth theorem has been published in the Mathematics Teacher, the magazine of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The following article compares two leading theories of crop circle formation. The "plasma event" (usually "plasma vortex") theory invokes an electromagnetic event which creates a rapid heating effect, causing patterns to be imprinted in grains, snow, sand and other media. The "mechanical flattening" hypothesis assumes that human artists create all formations using rollers, boards, rope and an array of other technologies.

More interesting information regarding scientific studies of soil, affects on plants, etc.. from crop circles. Includes a couple of photos of the damage done to plants that have nothing to do with the process that hoaxsters use to create crop circles.

Ahh yes,the Stonehenge mathematician himself..
nice one Vespers.
Thank you Oceanne. :) By the way, after reading your posts on this thread, I thought you might find this article interesting: it refers to scientists inventing a way to write on water using waves. The article is here:
http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/25/researchers-using-waves-to-write-on-water/
This topic on crop circles intrigues me - although there are many instances where crop circles have been manufactured by man, there are just as many that have not been able to be explained through the various mediums used by people in the construction of them, i.e. hoaxes. That, mixed with new math theories discovered through crop circles, soil contanimation, and the strange affect that these circles have on the plants seriously can make a person curious to the origins. Particularly since this isn't a new nor modern phenomena.
I too find crop circles amazing.... I don't believe they are formed by aliens, but from the little I know on them I don't think they are made by bored humans either (not including the hoax's). There beauty and accuracy is what gets me.
LOL..water,it remembers every word you say.;) Thanks for posting that.I think if one looks closely, one can see how water and some crop circles relate.
i think the ones that are ral have a messge or a code that we have not be abel to brak but when we do there no tellign what we can find out
UFO theory? Blah..!!
I think they were created by a bunch of wiz-kid students who decided to do something a bit more challenging for a change than to see who could drink the most beer or smoke the most dope before passing out! ;P
i'm not gonna deny that there could be a mystical reason behind crop circles but many of them are people trying to create hype and get attention.
most of them are made by high school kids wanting to puul a prank and stur things up for people
i've actually never met a high school kid who could make a crop circle. it takes more than half a brain to do it.
Well, I do believe in Aliens..
But I dun think they did it.
I mean, why would you wanna talk to us??
Come on.
We do we know that they wouldn't??
There are many crop circles that cannot be explained because the crop is bent over 90 degrees or more and are not broken. Like everything ppl see this as a way to make money and make stories up about them. And as such hoaxes make ppl think twice about what is happening out in the real world. I cannot say what really makes these things occur as I have never seen one or been around when one is made. It could be a natural occurance or alien involvement. I tend to keep an open mind until it has been proven wrong.
I think due to the number of sheer hoaxs over time, it would be difficult to ascertain, if any were true markings left by visitors beyond..as metioned here, many have invested time and resources into creating man made works of living art - and been caught later on.
However, it is a possibility that few are authentic and true, so I will keep an open mind until otherwise.
However or who ever are doing this have to be very good at art. Some of the circles are awesome and would end up in an art musiam if they were on canvas. Like everything that cannot be explained everyone as a different idea and theories behind it.
It is because of hoaxes and far out theories that peeps are quick to dismiss. That is why it is so important to investigate,to see which ones harbor the tell tale signs of real and natural energies at work.Which again, thats what I feel is going on with certain ones.
yes, some of them are quite perfect but that still doesn't mean they can't be man made. I've personally seen a very beautiful crop circle being done by a couple buddies of mine and the only things they used was a piece of two-by-four, rope, and three guys. it's quite possible.
I certainly don't believe they are made by mother earth to tell us to change out ways... Thats just too funny to me
I have read it started around WWII. A couple of soldiers owned up to it then. Since then it has taken off all over the world. Some can be explained being down by a human, others cannot be explained.
Did you know there was a guy that wanted grant money to translate crop circles? He "translated" two found near a collage, to mean a catastrophy was going to happen in 2000, shortly after his translations a local frat announced the frat row house that got the most PR for their circle.. he still puts out books and morons still buy them.
I believe they are messages from other worlds or aliens, if you like. The funny thing is Steven Hawking - the greatest mind of our time - believes this as well. Since crop circles are geometrical designs and geometry is consdered to be part of the "Universal language" Steven Hawkings himself has been trying to decipher what the messages are within the crop cirtcles.
Sorry - can't remeber the name of the tv show but it was on the Discovery Channel about 2 years ago.
That is a false source report.. I have heard it, it was off of a misquote related to the earlier case I mentioned, he mantioned that if they where Alien messages that he could not see how anybody could decypher them, that they appeared to be related to common doodles.
I saw a docimentairy on how they do those circles....so sorry but I don't beleive they are from aliens
aliens might exist but I am sure if they wish to speak they will use something better then making circles in oat feild.
microwave laser technology

The ones that are not crafted, are the foot prints from Gods new Tennis shoes..
without an army of tractors and grass cutters to create a fair sized crop circle you would need a good hand full of people, and as for the over night, one of these have been over a mile long and that i doubt unless the person was bored and could calculate the size and symitry of the circle then i dont think that could be possible without air support.
actually, you don't need that many people. if one person stands on a spot and has equal size bits of rope and two helpers, you can create a huge circle in a couple hours.
Crop circles are just well shaped plan being laid out by smart mathematical people who know how to plan. I do think that some of them can be done by groups to express something but they are groups of humans. If you look at some of the crops circles they represent some Wicca symbols and they maybe done by coven group to bring awareness or to celebrate a special day in the year.
When I first saw pictures of Crop Circles it brought me back to other geometric drawings: The Nazca lines which are a series of geoglyphs (Terrestrial Graphics) located in the Nazca Desert.
All across the Nazca Desert, situated on a plateau near the coast of Peru, etched out in the ground is some of the most remarkable ground art that has ever been seen. Truly an enigma, these drawn figures simply exist there, their origin unclear and their purpose unknown. Even more importantly, how these Nazca Lines were made continues to baffle us.
Since their discovery, the Nazca Lines have inspired fantastic explanations from ancient gods, a landing strip for returning aliens, a celestial calendar, used for rituals probably related to astronomy, to confirm the ayllus or clans who made up the population and to determine through ritual their economic functions held up by reciprocity and redistribution or, a map of underground water supplies.
The same goes for the Crop Circles--Where and when the earliest crop circle occurred is controversial. Some say it was in 1678 in an incident called the ‘Mowing of the Devil'. The legend goes that a farmer's field was visited by a devilish entity that trampled the crops down in a circle. Others believe that crop circles date back to biblical times.
Many people think crop circles are made by humans. But others argue that some have appeared so quickly, it would be impossible for humans to make them.
I leave myelf with an open mind n this subject.
Here's an interesting read om the subject:
A Brief Education
Of Crop Circles
http://www.cropcircles.net/
The current findings have drawn a picture that the Lines where Highways digs along the lines have produced plenty of evidence to this, at one time the research was inconclusive, so the "Astonishing angle seekers saw this (just like the Triangle) as a way to speculate the bizarre and write books, when those books were read by learned studied scholars and called poppy cock, the writers questioned them "Well what is it?" at that time they had not gathered enough research to be conclusive so like any respectable oligist they made no case at the time. Leaving the writers of notional speculation to say, see they don't know, so this must be right, "Give me cred!"
crop ciecles are man made,i seen it on a show not too long ago, there are no aliens, people go into the fields and have boards and they use the boards to make the designs
In no way do I believe that aliens make crop circles. I do believe that people make them themselves to get more attention.
Looking at some of those images, I'd put money on it that they are man made & not extra torestrial!
But dont you just think that the more complex, the more detailed ones could be? the possibilities are very slim but theres still that possibility there.
Trep What purpose does "accepting" the possibility that aliens, or some para-normal source makes them? If I told you I had a video footage of a possible alien craft making a crop circle, and asked only 150 pound would you buy?
Hey Dab..by the same token, would you spend the 150 if I were to show you how water and frequency account for some of them?
dabbler if i could afford 150 i would yes because i am curious along with many other things, the 99% that you have no footage what so ever is great and you just want the money but theres still that 1% that your proof is real and like i said if i had the money yes i would.
I just think some talanted person out there is getting a real good laugh at this.
I think some are man made and some are made from other biengs.. I don't think we are the only ones here really. But i do find it hard to belive that they come here to draw in corn fields or whatever they draw in..
thats right Foreverseeking2 they are man made,if there was other beings out there, the telescopes and other stuff in space would have caught them by now
I don't believe they are made by aliens no. But I do believe that most are hoaxes. Not sure if there could be or is any truth in them at all.
i would like to ask those that have created crop circles how they came about their design ideas.
i wouldn't be surprised if crop circles were made by aliens but i don't believe that every single one of them is. actually, i think that most are made by humans.
yeah, they are homan made,i dont know where they come up with the designs though
Actually,Im getting a laugh out of this thread..do you guys honestly believe that all crop circles are man made?
There is plenty of evidence to the contrary.
And it is not extra terrestrial in nature. It IS nature. The natural language of the universe.
music/math
Electromagnetics/physics
Infrasound/ultrasound.
Energy/manifest
For everyone who thinks they are strictly man made- why do you think they are man made?
There are very few people who admit to ever making crop circles and the ones that only have bent crops as opposed to the electromagnetic changes as well as the metals left behind. If the ones on land are man made- what does that say about the formations that appear on the water from supposed USOs?
