This should be done during a waxing moon. The moon should be in a favorable sign for marriage. A pentagram should be drawn and laid out upon the ground. A banishing ritual should also be done. On the alter should be black (2), Blue (2), and a larger red candle (1), two daggers, and a chalice a quarter full of Blood.
High priest/ess:
The bride and groom, both wearing black and holding a black candle, with which each will light the others candle upon the alter with the others name upon it. Open the rite by ringing the bell, and drawing the pentagram upon the air with the sword of the chamber.
Recite: “ina sumsu etu ilu. In the name of the dark lords, we invite the powers of the undead to bestow their infernal power upon us, and grant this couple to ascend towards godhead.”
The participants give a sacrifice of energy and blood to the un-dead gods and the Strigoi Morte
Under the Veil of night we come together in the name of Love, Loyalty, Darkness, Truth and Passion to celebrate the affirmation of the bond between ( Bride's Name ) and ( Groom's Name ), each being the greatest gift to each other.
On this night ( insert date here ) They offer each other the most sacred and precious gift of life, their blood. Tonight, both(brides name) and (grooms name) stand before and honor the Ancients, the dark masters and mistress of our past, and their vampyric brothers and sisters to consecrate this candle of eternal unity.
Lord (grooms name) please repeat after me : This circle that we stand in and the circle of this ring represent our endless love, protection, health and devotion. With this symbol of my eternal love and devotion i thee wed- Forever in this life and the ones to come. (The groom puts ring on brides finger)
Lady (brides name) please repeat after me, (repeats above statement after which, bride puts ring on the grooms finger)
Lord (grooms name) and Lady (brides name) you may now make your bond.
(Bride and groom exchange kisses & rings)
By the power of the Ancients and in the name of these two Souls, bound forevermore, I now pronounce Lord (grooms name) and Lady (brides name) as husband and wife for all of eternity.
Has anyone ever heard of these rites? What do you guys think about it?
I think it's something way beyond an rpg...I mean...what's the purpose? If you're one of the ones who believe in the mythological vampire, why would immortals need to get married anyway? I mean...who could handle being married to someone for all eternity??
If not, then good luck finding someone who is ordained or possesses powers to marry folks that will do this...seriously.
sounds pretty far fetched.. to me yet hey like it was said if you really think being together for eternity then try it I guess.... just see no point in it myself . Oh well...
I do believe the two parties of the wedding have to both believe in order for this to work..
Well if you believe in something long enough or hard enough it can be ... My question is can 2 honestly believe the same with equal depths, I mean does it matter how much one or the other believes in it that it can make a difference.? just wondering trying to be enlightened and Educated on many subjects. Thanks.
Im talking about both of them believing period.. Like my husband for example.. Hes not a believer, and I dont think a wedding like that would of worked with me..
From the Spiritualist point of view, we who have met or married to our partners, our parents etc. They say we all have met in a former life. Maybe our Mother was our Sister etc. So being together infinate could mean to me somehow we will be together in a different way when we return to our plane.
It rather makes sense to me if I look at it this way.
Sounds like a beautyful cereymony.
I would love to witness one.
why does it have to be being together for eternity? why can't it symbolize a very special union between two individuals that transcends the boundaries of time?
just another person trying to impose there own rules and regs.
I hate that people try and do this, weather it be for magic or anyother supernatural thing that stand's open for discussion.
Take it to the journal, Mate.
well, I'm not trying to impose anything on anyone, mate, I'm just asking for people's opinions on a subject. They can respond as they wish, that's their right. I was just hoping to get people's views and maybe get a conversation started on the matter.
Marix: yes it can be a very beautiful ceremony is both parties are open to it.
LNA "why does it have to be being together for eternity? why can't it symbolize a very special union between two individuals that transcends the boundaries of time?"
I believe that the rites you have posted here are beautiful and poetic in nature. The guestions that you ask above would that be like a joining of the souls through time. Something that would make it to where you would be able to find each in the next life?
I've seen other Pagan and Vampiric wedding rituals, but never this one. However, the topic piqued my interest so I did a little research.
Blood and Roses is a Wedding Ritual Term exclusive to OSV. (Ordo Strigoi Vii)
Gates of the Sanguinarium - Ordo Strigoi Vii
you guys need to study vampyres well before you try to diss us. We're not immortal, that's stupid hollywood shit. And by eternity we mean in soul. isn't that the purpose of marriage, so show your everlasting love for another.
I personally love this and am planning on doing it with my lover very soon. I copied it in my grimoire as well :)
This is real shit right here, not your phony Las Vegas 5-minute wedding just to get a green card.
I actually think its a beautiful ceremony, sort of simliar to a traditional handfasting. I also think that if you and your beloved believe this way, its a wonderful way to begin your lives together.
lol this is very interesting,i have always thought of weddings to be a bit holy,i say why ruin a good thing just have fun and forget the wedding.
cheetahcry, yes it would be more like a joining of two souls through time. but isn't that sort of like most wedding rites? don't the catholics have something like "in sickness and in health, till death do us part" well we're just taking into account the fact that some things transcend this life and go beyond.
exactly :)
the purpose of getting married is because you know that this person is your soul mate and you can't be without them. so the catholics are trying to say "to hell with it" and move on if their spouse croaks?
It would be a very beautiful ceremony to witness, but unless both parties meant it, it would just be another meaningless waste of time and money. Though, I do have to agree with sinora (I believe is the name... Sorry if I misspelled it...), it does sound like something made up by RPers...
I love this ceremony it binds the souls of people together and is very romantic as well.
As with any union, it will only be as beautiful as the souls are commited to making it. This is a ceremony you wont see the celebs jumping in and out of in Hollywood. Far too deep and I'm sure in thier eyes creepy, which gives it two thumbs up from me. I would love to attend one.
Ok now I understand LNA. That is what I was thinking of with the rites and the way they are done. I would have no problem with a rite done this way because of the way the bond carries on. Bonds or ties that carry from one life to the next, to me don't break that easy. Minus the part dealing with the blood this is the same thing that I done with my husband but it bound our souls together in this life and in the ones to come.
The Blood and Roses nuptial goes beyond the scope of wedding/handfasting rituals used by others not familiar with the nature of Vampyres.
To become merged with each other in this life and in lives to come is a vow to truely become immortal together...mortals may be bound by the concept of death overshadowing their commitment to each other.
The invocation of the honoured ancestors at the beginning of the rite clearly defines it a a religious ceremony, it is ment to be taken seriously, and so it is by the participants, and those of the faith.
It is a beautiful and meaningful ritual on many levels, spiritul and physical.

The thing is, who among us knows the true nature of our Souls ?
Can anyone say with any real authority that one can be pledged to someone for eternity ?
well I feel if you believe in it and the 2 want it then it would be a very beautiful in my opinion and the two people whom are doing it is all that really count.
yet myself I do not see it working for us .. as I said it is whatever one believes in and if you believe it long enough and stuff than who knows ..
Eh, to me it is just a revised version of th almighty witch's broom hopping ceremony. Both are pagan in their own rites, save for the Blood and Roses ceremony seems a bit more sacred then a years sanction. Personally I would go with an Egyptian esque ceremony.
Sounds beautiful to me and if each One believes , then shall it be...It is to each their own beliefs so all is well..Besides who is it hurting?
_CelestiaNocturne is right, it does sound like a traditional handfasting, which, in it's own right, is beautiful to watch. I think that anyone should beable to get married in his or her own way, and if it's this way, than so be it. To be honest, I think that this would be a beautiful ceremony. Weddings are much better under the light of the moon than weddings done in the sun._
i love the sumerian opening, its fitting for something like that...but its missing other things...other then that, if you fill in the bits this ceremony is delightfully infernal :) nicely done.
I agree with Nartina,
I also think it is a very romantic ceremony. But, once again I do believe that some sort of religon has got in the way. Marriage is a state of union proposed by religons in order to prove such state. I argue that if the commitment is known by the parties involved why do we need a piece of paper or a festival if you will to announce that fact??
That paper comes in handy for when some people decide they no longer wish to be together.
Stops things from getting nasty...lol
MissSacha: The paper is there for legal purposes. But you're right...Marriage is a state of mind, not anything religion or anything like that should beable to touch.
Hey, I'd totally dig seeing something like this...and who's dissing vamps here? I made a reference to mythological vampires...that was it.
And as far as eternal love goes...
"why does it have to be being together for eternity? why can't it symbolize a very special union between two individuals that transcends the boundaries of time?"
a special union that transcends beyond the boundaries of time, sounds like eternity to me.
Nothing wrong with that though...nothing at all.
Sinora, yes, it would be legal, because you would have to go to the courthouse and sign the legal papers, the ceremony is up to the discression of the people getting married. kind of like non-denominational weddings are legal.
misterstikki, well, i just don't like the reference of eternity, people seem to think of "eternity" as this stupid hollywood cliche and it doesn't begin to symbolize the acuality of it.
Sinora...
Belief in the soul, and eternal lfe cannot be proven or disproven. They are however a part of ones faith.
The legality of a nuptial union is a function of the state to determine, if the proper license is obtained and the officient has the proper credentials, then the nuptial union is legal. There is also religious credability in a union that does not involve the state, but the love and commitment to each other as life partners.
It is a belief among some that the ritual itself binds both parties together, during this life and the next. But then again this is a matter of faith in the existance of eternal life, a factor in choosing this particular ritual.
eternity is in the moment.
Change occurs and then the concept of eternity changes, grows or fades. So in the moment, the union itself is eternal, always for that moment for the couple it will remain. Even if the love fades and the couple divorces. etc.
I have allways thought the ceremony was romantic .Be a wonderful way joining two kindred souls together .
That is a very lovely ceremony. Where did you hear of it? although there are differences it really has similarities to a Wiccan hand-fasting .
yeah, it is very similar to the Wiccan hand-fasting. they may actually have the same root. i actually heard about it a long time ago, don't remember where exactly.
Somehow I find it intriguing but someone mention being married eternally to 1 person. No offence here but....I mean it is sort of not possible.
To love for eternety yes...to be together for eternety..not really.
As for the ceremony itslef it sound lighlty like a draconia banishment ritual and opening ritual to access the astral plan.
Still I like the ritual ( vampyric wedding) it sound so romantic and lovely.
I have heard of such rituals, if you believe that the soul lives after death then the eternity thing could take place
LNA that looks very interesting and I was just showing someone that we been talking about a wedding in Estonia and it was added that maybe doing it on horses at a castle. Would be different anyway.
It does sound romantic, and I would love to see a ceremony like this.
I was wondering something, though. Does this ceremony have to be done with a man and a woman, or can it be two women? or two men?
I know what it says, but I was just wondering if it's exclusively for heterosexual couples.
Any opinions on that?
As far as eternal marriage... Even the scriptures say there is no such thing.
I think that it sounds beautiful!
I don't see why people would have a problem with it, after all it's not gunna be enforced anywhere is it?
It sounds amazing - I would love to get married like that, very poetic ;-;
i'm not sure if it could be done with two women. i would have no problem with that at all but i don't know if it was meant for such things. i guess it depends on the people getting married, huh?
yea i guess, lol there would be hell though if they argued over dresses ^_^
i think yea it would all depend on the people getting married - if it is truly what they want then things will work. if not then hey, they dont work out.
exactly, and even if they were to have a dispute and break up what matters is that they go into the ceremony with an open mind and know that it is meant for something deeper than just a physical wedding. it's a commitment to the other person.
The ceremony sounds cool but I don't think people now a days can handle being together for a couple a years. I see more people on their third and fourth marriages then I see people actually sticking in out with one. If humans can not handle being together for one life time how much chance do Vampires have staying together forever.
Most people can not even keep friends forever let alone someone they have to deal with everyday for the rest of their lives. It is why I am single forever why make a commitment if you don't plan to keep it.
that is very true, although i can see the sub-cultures' feelings towards this changing.
a long stable happy relationship is all anyone wants, but everyone seems to think it just out of their reach..
true, people today don't last in marriages. they don't commit to it. hopefully the people that would go through such a ceremony as the blood and roses ceremony would be willing to commit to each other beyond marriage, if it lasts or not.
LordOfNoctemAeternus
Thank you for answering my question.
Next week when I'm not at work I'm going to call the registry office, I'm willing to bet a service such as the one mentioned here would not be deemed legal in the UK.
Or does anyone here know about UK law ?
i don't understand why it would be illegal... if you can get married at a casino then why not like this?
i have read the blood and roses ritual many many many times an it would be a very beautiful thing to commit to your mate in a way that nothing can compare to is amazing to me ... but thats just my input
i think its great i mean i would love to be with the persomn i love for ever
thats the point of marrage is to be bond to the oone you love if you couldnt be with them for ever then you dont really love them
ANY promise of commitment should NEVER be taken lightly...no matter what ceremony is or isn't being performed ;)
sinora, i actually don't know much about UK law, but i personally don't see why it would be deemed illegal. then again, some stupid little town here in the US has a law that bans the carrying of ice cream cones in your back pocket, so i actually wouldn't be too surprised. let me know what you find on this, i'm very interested to know. i'll do some digging of my own.
I have never heard of it myself, but me, I do not believe in real vampires, only people who live the lifestyle, so I would be hard pressed to believe in a ceremony that was real, let alone a LEGAL ceremony like that.
sounds nice, i like it, is this out of a book? Where is this source from?
In the state of California you may marry anyone of any sex and use the Blood and Roses ceremony for the marriage and all will be completely legal. The law only requires a license issued by the county where the wedding takes place and an ordained minister, judge, or clerk of the court perform the ceremony and sign the wedding certificate. Being an ordained minister means a person who has been ordained by any church, but you can become one over the internet. Blood and Roses would not be that radical of a wedding ceremony in CA, nor would same sex marriages.
There are other places where you can be married, but only two states where you can marry whoever you are in love with.
I have been to a Vampiric wedding once and it was something I found to be interesting. But for it to mean anything both people would have to live in a vampire life style.
well, yes, in california you can marry someone of the same sex in the blood and roses ceremony. the only thing that bugs me is that the minute you're out of california the marriage is void. i hate that you would only be married, legally, in that state. it's bogus.
darkxwhisper, was it the blood and the wearing black that you thought was messed up? do you think the ceremony in general is messed up, and why? i'm very curious to know people's points of view.
i've seen a ritual like this, and a couple wiccan ones, and they were beautiful. my only problem with one was that it was so somber. it was such a joyous occasion and the people did not look like they were enjoying themselves.
it's a happy occasion and i guess it would depend on the people but i would bet you that they're happy and just containing it for the ceremony
I haven't heard this particualr version but I have heard of hte Blood and Roses Vampirec Rite of Marriage. Originally I heard it in Greece.
hmm, i'm a full believer in this.
infact, i would love to have a ceremony like this. its romantic and just.
it may be cheesey to some, but its exactly what i've always dreamed of. a perfect vampyric ceremony to marry the one i love for all eternity.
[and hell, if i doesn't work out... i'll kill the bastard (not really)]
Uk update > When I eventually got to talk to someone willing to take the time to take me seriously ( you cannot imagine how hard that was )
Anyway the answer is that in the registrars opinion there is not one ordained minister in the Uk who would ever perform as ceremony using those words.
I have indeed heard of something like this before. This would be the wedding that I would love to do for my special someone. I remem, ber of something where the groom takes one daggers and makes an small cut on hand and and pour it into the big gold cup and then the brides does this also as well. then both parties are allowed to drink from it and then the vows and rings and then kiss.
Sounds very much like a handfasting to me and that is just a beautiful union of two people.
I deffinately plan to do this with DjMMp. Then we will get our names tattooed on our ring fingers. I know it's stupid, getting spouses names tattooed on you. But we're that serious.
Iam sure that a Vampirc weddings are the same as a regular wedding but a little sexier
sounds almost like a goth wedding i am sure it would be fun and meaningful of course.
I have mixed view on vampire weddings.. I consider weddings as holy and vampires are not really holy.. But i do think vampires should be able to get married like they want..
it sounds darker then just a vampire wedding but in turn sounds like the way i would like my own wedding to be done
Who's to say a vampire would even truly think in the romantic sense at all. I mean they have to harm people just to stay alive themselves and marriage between them seems a bit far-fetched to me.
As long as the two parties involved love each other what matter dose it make how the souls are bound.
I wish you all the happiness in the world Ryu.....do what makes you happy.
Love the words they are beautiful. May use them whenever I get married.
bloody hell i don't think its up to anyone to say how someone wishes to vow their love for eternity to aother but the people doing the vowing i mean come on how are they hurting you , their not! so if you don't like it fine kick rocks but i would love to go to one or maybe have one of my know and as far as laws on the matter shove it
