As many have seen this story do you think this is the mythical creature or our minds assuming it is not a wolf or dog? would like to know your input.
I'm not saying that there is not a creature called the Chupacabra; however, the creature in this reel appears to look like the "hairless" coyote seen in pictures and films. The loss of hair on a coyote can be caused by an outbreak of sarcoptic mange (most common to canines), which is an infestation by microscopic mites, that causes thickening of the skin, loss of hair......
That is very interesting,,,, all these strange animals that have come about in the last few weeks,
Its got teeth that kind of resemble a boar and that weird small tall but the head and snout are huge.. Who knows what it is or where it came from.
I am from Texas and fully believe it is some sort of dog.. It is not a Chupa.. People just want t make some money is all.
alot are after the credit and money of the nmyths, a dog possible they give alot of looks like but yet, like he legs and snout. yet it seems alot of the myths are brought back to life with things like this video, and specially from law enforcement who are suppose to make an acurate description, yet seem stumped over this sightning. I do believe it may be some sort of dog yet things in away seem out of place if you watch other versions of this video.
Still looks canine to me. I've been an owner of several breeds and sizes of dogs; their anatomy is not all the same. It's a possibility that somewhere down the line some of these coyotes bred with other lines of wild and domesticated canines, creating coyote hybrids.
And, showing a decaying body of an animal is deceiving--you really need to look at the bone structure and go by DNA.
new types and breed of dogs are coming everyday. I am not saying this is another breed of dog i am just saying i truly believe it is in the canine family..
Monsterquest did a show on the chupacabra from Texas.
They ran a D.N.A. test on it and looked for the lice that causes mange.
The D.N.A. evidence came back as canine but inconclusive to what species it was.
I believe what Is said just because it has not been discovered dose not mean it dose not exist.
This video was released over the weekend, by the sheriffs dept. and many there believ this to be the mythical creature, my thoughts may be infact that or a mutation or cross breeding some say i do not justify, whish there was a more closer pic of the face tho.
well it looks like a mix breed of some sort to me yet unless they actuall take blood and run test on it they will not know for sure so ... yet it is very interesting looking animal, I actually feel for the poor thing and hope people leave it alone unless they are gonna actually feed it and help it . just my 2 cents
It does kind of look like a breed of a coyote, but I would not rule out being a different breed of animal or creature. I never rule anything out in this world anymore.
Not having the sound available I am unable to be coached into what it is I am supposed to see, I find not hearing is a good thing just like the "blip" films, and edited zoom images, I see a canine type animal running..
to me..it looks like its jus a coyote. doesnt look like anything special. until they catch it and study it..i wont believe it. It jus looks like a regular coyote or dog. yea yea repeating myself. but im skeptical of this video

There's a breed of dog that originates from China that looks similar. It's hairless and it's the same breed that has won the Worlds Ugliest Dog competition time and time again. This "Chupacabra" looks like a bigger version of it, that's all.
It looks more or less like a coyote, like Psi said it could be hairless and have mange. When people describe Chupacabra they almost always describe the creature standing on two legs with alien like features. That resembles none of the reports from other regions that say they have Chupacabra activity.
definitely looks canine like everyone else has stated, but i think the chupacabra exists. i mean why not? threres a lot out in the world we dont know about or can comprehend. the world itself is made up of interesting creatures, people, animals, plants etc that weve yet to encounter so far....
the mind tells us it is a (dog) yet we must assume the mind not playing tricks it is some unknown species. for if we take dog out of the equation than we see something else. many species are yet to be discovered, i thought i would post this for law enforcement believe this to be chupacabra and they have seen dogs coyotes before why know release this.
who are we to say what it is...it could be a dog mix but they are always finding new stuff all the time.
Interesting....I certainly can't identify it off the top of my head. Maybe it IS the chupacabra. Then again, aren't they only supposed to come out at night? That video seemed to be taken during the day.
I vote canid not cryptid. It does not resemble any chupacabra descriptions I have seen and I also agree with sarcopic mange as to its hairlessness.
Descriptions
In general, chupacabras are said to appear in three specific forms:
The first and most common form is a lizard-like being, appearing to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back. This form stands approximately 3 to 4 feet (1 to 1.2 m) high, and stands and hops in a similar fashion to a kangaroo. In at least one sighting, the creature hopped 20 feet (6 m). This variety is said to have a dog or panther-like nose and face, a forked tongue protruding from it, large fangs, and to hiss and screech when alarmed, as well as leave a sulfuric stench behind.
The second variety bears a resemblance to a wallaby or dog standing on its hind legs. It stands and hops as a kangaroo, and it has coarse fur with greyish facial hair. The head is similar to a dog's, and its mouth has large teeth.
The third form is described as a strange breed of wild dog. This form is mostly hairless, has a pronounced spinal ridge, unusually pronounced eye sockets, teeth, and claws. This animal is said to be the result of interbreeding between several populations of wild dogs, though enthusiasts claim that it might be an example of a dog-like reptile. The account during the year 2001 in Nicaragua of a chupacabra's corpse being found supports the conclusion that it is simply a strange breed of wild dog. The alleged corpse of the animal was found in Tolapa, Nicaragua, and forensically analyzed at UNAN-Leon. Pathologists at the University found that it was just an unusual-looking dog. There are very striking morphological differences between different breeds of dog, which can easily account for the strange characteristics.
SOURCE
I don't know honestly. I mean it is hairless yeah, but I don't know if it is a Chupacabra though.

Not really.. It's like a horse and donkey breeding. Not really the same breed or type but still able to reproduce because they're close enough.

Not to mention, when I lived in mississippi, I had quite a few dogs that came back pregnant... a lot of the puppies more closely resembled cyotes than the mother and there are A LOT of cyotes in the area.
I think it looks like a dog with a pig snout, maybe some cross breeding lol....

crossbreeding, definetely. Dingo though? I don't think so... way too different looking to have any relation to a dingo at all.
at first it looked like a Kangaroo they look quite similar it's creepy who knows what it is but judging by the long snout I woudl say that it is a carnivour so are many dog or ciuoties this could just be either a deformaty or eveloution to be honest.
I don't think that there is enough evidence to really figure this out, but the closest conclusion that I can reach is that it's a type of dog.
To be honest, it does look like some deformed mix breed of canine gone wrong, perhaps a new breed or species relating to the canine family?
looks like some kind of dog to me also..however i wouldnt want to be around it(just in case):)
Oh cmon. This is not chupacabra. It runs like a canine, it looks like one. Because it seems to be disproportional makes it nothing special, and certainly not a chupacabra What makes one think that it might be anyway? Definitely a wish for publicity.

Again, I'd like to point out that it looks too much like a bigger version of a chinese breed of dog. I can't remember what it's called but the gene that makes it hairless also causes it's teeth to come in weak and they normally all fall out on one side which causes the tongue to hang outside of it's mouth, just like in the picture. The nails are very long and curve in, the front legs are normally either shorter than the back ones or deformed to make them look shorter. They have pronounced spines and look extremely sick all the time. They're super skinny meaning you could count every bone in their bodies and no matter how much you feed the animal it's appearance won't change. the breed has won the worlds ugliest dog contest for quite a few years running so you should be able to look it up pretty easily and compare it.
We pretty much all agree here that it's not a chupacabra and that it is some sort of weird/deformed/possible new breed of canine so I really see no reason for this thread to continue.
this thread was to see if we could determine one if it is what they claime to be and the second on insight of the myth, many species this year have been found and yet it made headlines across the world like the bigfoot eposode. the people like to believe in myth and why.
I understand and concur yet, it just suprised me on the tape coming from law enforcement making this claim, us as individuals take heart in fables and myths to believe in something yet not understood by others, wether its chupacabra, bigfoot or spirits, al so alsive that they are not on tape, i just thought this was so ironic too imagine. myths are what we search for to give meaning and so we hope to catch something to prove it too us. mortals have been doing this from the days of beginning, i shall find someone to close this thread.
I personally believe that the role of this law enforcement officer in this video is to try to more successfully gain publicity with his appearance in this video, which is clearly trying to make an elephant out of a flea.
since this thread seems to have run its course i am going to close it now *smile*
