Is the human race actualy closer or further from from the rest of the animal kingdom, what do you think?
We are bloody animals. So I'd say we're right on top of the Animal Kingdom
considering we were all monkeys at one point, we are still close to it and the fact that many people keep pets, may suggest something that our 'animal' side, is yearning for the past and finds it in the company of animals. But to answer your question, we have to be further from it to evolve... (and to put a sick twist on things, some people are alot closer to animals than others, and these sick b'tards should be put down.. lets march to stop animal abuse, just because cats have rough tongues, does not mean they have to step in for when the BF's are away..)
OMG lmao thats so twisted dhampir lol.... personally its hard to say, because the arguments for both sides are strong....
every animal on earth has social structure, it has its own way of communication, they build families and communities. as far as i'm concerned the only thing that separates us from the animals is the fact we are the only living thing on this eart that actually kisses lol thats not much of a distinction in my eyes
here's a citation that can enlight this point, and i particulary agree with it.
Human may not be the only thinking animal, but he's only one thinking he's not an animal...
to complete my view, i'd like to say that i hate people that make the distinction human/animal, like there is 3 kinds of living creatures: flowers, animals and HUMANS.
but there is more commons points between a man and even a cat thaan between even 2bugs...
mankind is just a path that life diversity walks on...
annd a man isn't the top of evolution...
he's totally inadapted:he has no claws, no teeth, can't jump high, can't run fast, doesn't stand cold, and his head is even too big at the birth( that's y babies can't do anithing: they aren't over, a baby giraffe can stand and run just after its birth)...
And vampire bats live on blood and blood only..
Also Draculin, a blood-thinning drug developed from vampire bat saliva, helps prevent strokes and heart attacks in humans!
The common vampire bat is the only bat that can take off vertically!
Common vampire bats avoid attacking dogs because canines can detect a bat’s high-frequency sounds as they approach!
i'm still of the opinion than man is not natural to earth.....all other animals fit into their environment....we force it to fit us....we react to nature as though we were a virus
And with all viruses, there's always a Viricide. Chew on that one over breakfast hehe.....
When I go on a tube (metro) or in a train during rush hour, or drive my car in a traffic jam and I see people push and shove and having no respect for other people.. yes I think there is no humanity and I liken people to animals.
When I see, how people can murder, and how they can hurt children and abuse people mentally..yes, I think there is no humanity and I liken people to animals.
When I see, how politicans can cheat and lie to earn votes and send innocent people to fight wars that should not of happened..yes, I thnk there is no humanity and I liken those people to animals.
When I see, how evil people can blow up buildings, like the WTC and kill innocent people...yes I liken these people to animals. How could they be human.. how could there be humanity or compassion.
I could go on in this list.. I see in my own country a place torn because of a lack of humanity and respect for other people. Most of all, I think we can pray that these people (animals) who destroy the lives of innocents will learn how to be humble and have some humanity.
Emmy steps off her soapbox!
thats very interesting.... though i have some reservations in totally agreeing with you emmy.... yes there is no humanity, however, animals dont treat others like we do, which would distinguish us even further from them.... i'm starting to agree with the matrix lol we are a virus, a plague.
My 2cents worth is that we're still part of the animal kingdom, but our brains put us at the top of the food chain. Although some human behavior is worse than some animals, at times humans are capable of great things (like art and science) that lift us above the level of "just another animal".
normally i agree with emmy
howevere....in every instance....she should see the humanity.....it's the animal world who don't do the things she said.....and the humans that do
I think that we are close to the animal kingdom. What I want to know is if it took millions of years for us to evolve from apes (supposidly), What happened? Why aren't we still evolving into something more?
Further as I don't think humans ever were animals and never will be. I have a hard time believing people were spawned from monkies. >.@ I don't like monkies. Though humans often like and worse than animals I just can't believe humans evolved from animals.
I think we missing a very big factor here!! Animals Kill to survive...........
We don't.......
Animals do kill to survive, and back in the caveman days we killed to survive too. We are just more civilized now and there's no need too anymore.
No we kill for fun now, for fun, profit, recognition. THings we really don't need to take life to get ANimals kill cause they have to we kill cause we have little regard for life, well some of us anyway.
For sure there are more human's who take the life of other humans' than animals taking the lives of other animals' or human beings. Go figure.
Then how is instinct such an uncommon occurance in humans.
Because in the course of one's life there is seldom need for it, thats all. Its there, we just don't use it often. Or maybe we use it and don't see it as being instinct, just a habit or something. *shrugs*
our refusal that we are animals and using animals for our own gastronomic delectation makes us more animalistic, becasue we are stupid enough to believe that we are part of the world that we destroy.
i don't believe that we are animals because of our highly developed brains and intelligence compared to animals and our ablitiy to have somee many different languages
from my studies, i do find humans to be something very very special , we seem to have unique properties i can't seem to find elsewhere, they are not properties that can be expained (atleast not by me) but have to be experienced
go humans
hahahahahahaha
my dictionary defines animal as any being other than human and that of human as being of ,relating to, or typical of man. if you need to see the humanity in the world just ask yourself what good deed you have done for another lately or vice versa. war and destruction are unfortunately human traits
