do any of you think the old stereotypical vamp clothes are outdated? (the cape, white shirt etc) or do you think they rock? what should/shouldn't vampires wear? okay, get discussing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think some things they have come up with these days are ridiculous. I think we should all go back to making our own clothes..
make our own? oh dear, i'm gonna look stupid walking around in old potatoe sack
I love the old cape's from the hammer horror films... and the dress of the vamp ladies in the 70's films.. but in this day and age, if someone was to walk about looking like that.. they'd get fitted up for a straight jacket..
The old cloths are romantic and seductive i dont think they are out of fashion anyway since when did us vamps care about fashion, except to hide ourselves from the real world.. lol hmm altho i must admit i havnt wore any victorian style cloths in some time... i like a mixture of both.
I have always been found of the medieval renaissance cloths. Satins and big shirts with frills on the sleeves and chest. I have the shirt I speak of.
yeah those cloths are so good... how much did you pay for yours
i definitely agree with you boundsin
one of my favorite styles is from back in the middle ages, i absolutely adore it, also victorian clothing, in fact anything victorian i love....
the way it makes your body fit, the curves, the detail to the fabric, lace, everything.....i LOVE it...if i could i would dress like that everyday!
I have a white and a black the white was like 70.00 and the black was on sale about a couple weeks later for about 20.00
pretty keul dude... i used to were the top hat and i had a cain at one point its a shame really i use to go to all the balls but now.. all my stuff has been taken from me..
The only time I got to wear it was to a prom and at the Renaissance fairs
hey go 2
www.sanctuary.ch
then go to the gothic balls u'll love it
i used to go all the time... but its expensive..
well, i love the cape...i personally have a black velvet hooded cloak that i wear all the time, i even went to a bar with it on one time,
i definatly agree with boundsin. i also love the cape thing. a have a silver velet one i break out for ren fairs. i also love the morticia adams look but hey thats just me.
Why you want to mess with a good thing?
The old style is awesome.
I don't know......
I feel as comfortable in a medieval dress as I do in my jeans and tees. It is the person that makes the clothes.
Hmm I'm not sure what "fashion" I like.. the old is good like in the movies but some of the new stuff is ok like the top hats and cains..
the fashion rocks but some posers kinda wear them alot i llike them as long as they do things
I think the old clothes are great, but I also love to see a modern day vamp in black, red, and leather!! Tight leather pants!! OOO!! um,er, sorry about that!! BUt then the frilly shirts and capes can be just as exciting. A friend I used to know who is a vamp and scottish used to wear his kilt. Talk about hot!!
I love old clothes with modern twists! I also love making my own clothes!!!
I rather like capes-- especially my black crushed velvet with black pin-spots. :D
Otherwise, I'm not very formal-- a black shirt or crop-top is fine, along with a pair of jeans.
Charity shops are the best for finding old and unique clothes and the chances are the come from dead people......
must use capes!!! comon its the cliche classic... we should let the humans have one right idea bout us... Plus when do we care but the style. I thought the point was to look ancient, not modern. That is kinda the difference old vs new?
I agree with VampyOne 100% (except for that part about kilts anyways...) Both the new and old can look sexy if worn right.
I personally enjoy the older things, Such as Rennaisancian (I'm sorry for spelling!) and Victorian clothing. I actually have a red cloak, big black frilly shirt, and leather bracers that I occasionally wear... and in my opinion, the shirt is the most Comfortable thing I have ever worn.
However, some of the modern stuff can be exciting as well. In the end, they are merely material clothes and mean very, very little if anything at all. Ehh, well... i hope so at least.
My version is a clash between modern and classical vampire:
For guys: dangling right cross earring, a white long sleeve polo with a black trench coat, black tight denim pants, black socks and leather shoes. (the shirt's a little bit unbutttoned).
For girls: silver cuff earrings, black long sleeve cotton turtleneck, black tight and flared denim pants/ black above the knees denim skirt, high heeled zipped leather boots.
Neat or not? Well for me it is. I wish I could draw it or could someone sketch it for me, because I donit have any time in my hands to do it.
I like to do with my clothes as i do with anything, keep people guesing.Sometimes i'll go old stereotypical but most of the time i'll go modern.......It's always fun to be dressed and talk to someone then smlie and watch their eyeballs almost pop out of their head...........I LOVE BEING DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!
I love the old stuff, Its the best of the best, cape and all
A crisp white long sleeve shirt with gathering in the front with a black hooded cloak over it and some tight black pants........ummmm! Sooooo Sexy! *daydreaming*
well I went to art school for 15 years ... so I made my own canes and some clothes and other jewelery and stuff. But damn when this latex and PVC stuff came out I could barely keep up .... I'm a buckels and laces and eyelets type of girl lol and working with that stuff is scary compaired to materials cuz it rips so easily!
i LOVE period clothes thier so beautiful, with such depth, so many materials and texturs i wish i could where period clothes all the time
I have to say I like the old stuff. I also love leather.......lol
Mmmm...leather and lace; that vinyl clothing scares the hell out of me (lol)
could u not have a mix of old and new clothes, the old style had a certain thing about it where as so does new style.
idk i more in the "vintage" clothing line and im going crazy trying to decinde what to wear to the res fair in augest.
Well, Im naff at sewing, so fi I was to go out in handmade clothes, id be arrested after about 20 minutes for them falling off :-P
SOme clothes do seem a bit outdated, but I like some of the revivals of old ideas. I suppose it all depends on the person.
I like the old type of clothing but the new is good too.
it totaly does ok wow no more drinking so heavely lol like omg becky did u see that lol oh god somebody shot me
na it really does matter on the person lol i remember i went into the city me and a couple of my friends went in to go see rocky horror picture show hehehe and these 2 pretty b*tches where like fucking freaks lol one of my female friends i was with turned around and said what and just decked (puched) one of them right in the face and we kept walkin it was funny as all hell sorry lol
Misfit, did I hear that right? You saw two girls who looks like 'freaks' so your friend punched one in the face and you found it funny? Are you serious???
From head to toe...
No hat, let my hair flow in the nights breeze.. Long black leather jacket, good protection and deep pockets for "tools". cheast, crimson shirt (60/70's frilled at cuffs and collar, unbuttoned half way.. Also, i'd have a light duty Kevlar vest, not gonna be spiking my heart with that protection.. Bottoms, boot cut dark, ripped jeans, got to be comfotable to run in.. *grins*.. with some new rock boots, with modified spikes from and back which expell at a click of the heals.... and on hands a couple of well selected rings.. the piercing type... *mmhmm*
I am quite comfortable in a poets silk shirt. *shrug. I am a seamstress by trade, meaning I am a fourth generation sewer. I love making gothic bridal gowns!!
For some they may be outdated, others for Ravers they are cool. Depends on your taste really.
In Salem, however, you do on occasion see the gentleman walking with white gloves, cane in hand and a top hat. *shrug.
I think the old Vampire clothes are by far the best. Todays style is ok, but not really what i wanna wear.
I would have to say some of the "typical vampire dress" is incredibly corny. It's the same there as it is with a lot of things, when it is done with care and such it looks good.
