So today is Friday the 13th and I was wondering if any of you ever had any bad luck happen to you on this day?

Never had any bad luck on this day. this day is like any other except for the superstition that has been mixed with this day.

i have always loved friday the 13th. and for me, it's a lucky day.

i have the show tonight, then after parties.

my brother and sister were born on friday the 13 . and they seem to think its lucky so it depends on the people what is luck i think you make your own luck.

There's another Friday the 13th movie coming out? And I used to have bad things or bad luck happen to me on this day but not anymore :)

Even though something always goes weird on Friday the 13th, it has always been such a lucky day for me.

Anywho, the meaning of Friday the 13th is as thus: On Oct. 13th 1307 which fell on a Friday, the Order of the Knights Templar were burned at the stake for heresy aganst the "church" by one Pope Clement V. This age, was the time when Robert the Bruce, king of Scots was in power. This should give you a ruff estimated date, since the movie: Braveheart was a couple of years, or decades before this incident.

Anywho, the Bruce had already been excommunicated for other reasons, and was therefore not disposed to pay heed to the pappals commands.

One Jaques De Molay, a Grande Master of the order was one of the first to be burned at the stake. Others soon followed and the order was quickly abolished...Or so the public eye was aware.

Hence, this day is known as a day of bad luck...As according to the "church", you are either with them, or against them in the eyes of their "god."

The Order of the Templar does infact exist...It is the Scottish Rite of the Freemasonic Order. To be a Templar Knight, one would need to proceed through the degrees until reaching the 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite.

Friday the 13th has always been a good day for me. Nothing bad has ever happened to me on this day. Plus i'm not superstious.

well my sister was born on Friday the 13th and well I have always liked the day myself.

my grandfather died on Friday the 13th, hell what made it worse was the fact i had a dream where when i woke up that morning i got a phone call from my mother at 2:35 pm where she told me that my grandfather had died in his sleep do to problems from a staph infection, so yeah Friday the 13th as a day sucks for me

I really do want to go see the new Friday the 13th movie. I loved the older versions and the remake is bound to be good as well.


As for the day, it's not unlucky. Just boring.

The Templars werent burned at the stake on October 13th, 1307. They were ordered arrested on Sept. 14th 1307, and the arrest date was set for dawn, on October 13th, 1307, in France.

Those captured were subsequently imprisoned first, then tortured by the Inquisition, and it's not likely they all died by burning at the stake...more likely some were hung or drowned or just plain tortured to death. But approximately 5,000 Templars were arrested in France and less than 20 escaped.

It's probably for this reason that the date stuck in the minds of people and became a superstition. The Templars were looking to Pope Clement to rescue them, and he betrayed them out of greed instead. None of this could have been pleasant in terms of repercussions in the minds of the French people.

Interestingly enough, just a few years ago it was discovered that Clement had signed a pardon for the Templars, but then he apparently stashed it in the Vatican library.

Yes, I do know the histories of the Knights Templar, as I am a Freemasonic historian after all. But, it was on this day in history that Jaques De Molay was officially burned at the stake at said trials. This much is for certain. But the pardon did go through. Unfortunately too late for Jaques himself.

For the first time it was a bad day I got lots of work, people got on my nerves, been tempted to stab stupid people...wait isn't that everyday?
