Which is your favorite vampire and why? He/she can be from movies, TV, books, or other.

For me, I think it's Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I love her because she was beautiful, creepy, weird and she was never slayed.

Lestat 'Anne Rice vampire stories' by his humoruous and free-spirited personality.
Viktor from 'Underworld' by his character & loyalty to his beliefs.
Mick St.John 'Moonlight: the series" by his character & loyalty to his beliefs as well.

More of the older movies would say christopher lee, great potrayel of dracula.

New selene from underworld. strong yet with a sense of grace and beauty.

Christine Feehan's vampires for the men not only being attractive but protective of their lifemates which grounds them from turning into monsters. Their families are close and are able to manipulate weather and can shapeshift among other interesting qualities they possess.

The vampire's from JR Ward's series: The Black Dagger Brotherhood. Particularly Wrath........bigger than life, as bad as they come, but totally devoted to their 'shellan's', or mates. Incredible group of vampires. All of them are unique but extreme in their own right. Wrath is my favorite, but they have all made their way into my heart and soul!

For one single reason...These three portray vampires how they should be portrayed and not like the blood sucking fiends of old. Not the classic romantics, but with the political tenure and intelligence one comes to expect from such individuals.

Marius from Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicals. Because he created both Lestat and Armand two more of my favorites. Not the ones from movies but the books because they describe so much more that cannot be conveyed on screen.

hazuki the vampire loli from moonphase.she is a very comlicated personality and always leaves you guessing what she is really like and wants.
princess lilliane from princess resurrection.shes bitchy and a dom but also kindly and when she has to be ,heroic.

The Trueblood series? I get the feeling that I've seen that somewhere...though the names of the books aren't coming to mind, or the characters.

I'd have to say Stefan from Bloodbound. Although he is, in essence a creature of the night, he still tries his best to help Mercy in anyway possible, and...surprisingly, gets along well with the werewolves that follow Mercy everywhere. He is a great, eccentric vampire, but still true to the legends.

Count St Germain in Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's novels; he is very ancient,wise,and compassionate. He is always saving people that are sometimes on the fringe of society.

While I enjoy many of the new shows, movies and books and though Dracula was not the 1st or original vampire, he was the one that made them famous. There were several stories and at least 1 movie before Dracula as portrayed by Bella Lugosi, but that is my favorite. Everything since is because of that one a true classic. On a side note many have mentioned Moonlight and while I enjoy that show it is almost a carbon copy of an earlier movie & show called "Forever Knight" about a vampire cop named Nick Knight as opposed to the new show about a P.I. named Mick St.John. Both with almost identical plot lines in that neither wants to be a vampire and their mentor in both cases doesn't understand why not. Hmmmm lets see.... cop/p.i., nick/mick, and doesn't want to be a vampire wants to be human again/ditto, coincidence? I think not.

My absolute favorite vampire is Zsadist from the Lover Eternal book series. He was a slave who endured torture for many years and therefore has a bad boy kiss my ass attitude. They describe him as having yellow eyes, hes bald, buff and has a crap load of tattoos. MMMMM MMM sexy!

haha. Edward Cullen. Because R. Pattz is pretty hot.

Seriously? I don't have a favorite. In fiction, they are all fictional. As far as real vampires, there are several living ones that I respect and admire for their thoughts and insight.

LESTAT. hes so brave, and relaxed about anything. he wants what he wants, and he will go through any extent to get it.

and hes georgeous and funny.

ARMAND,,, i also love him cuz hes absolutely stunning and very sophisticated!

Marius didn't make Lestat. Lestat was fathered by Magnus, an insane Vamp from Armand's Clan of wraiths under Paris, who killed his self after turning him.

And definitely, Charlaine Harris's Vamps AKA The Trueblood Vamps. I like the diversity in her ranks.

Well for me it is Louis the misunderstood and self tormented vampire Lestat made for his confidant! I loved the portrayal by Brad Pitt in the movie (Interview with a vampire). I think he looked so beautiful!

Varney The Vampire. Written before Bram Stoker's Dracula. He had fangs, punctured necks of his victims, had hypnotic powers, superhuman strength, was able to go about the daylight, and no particular loathing of crosses or garlic, can eat and drink in a human fashion as a form of disguise. He is pretty much human until his feedings come up. He is a vampire who loathes his condition but is nonetheless a slave to it.
I gotta give my kudos to Varney. lol

EDWARD CULLEN BECAUSE HE IS SOOO HOT!

Lol. I'm joking. Sorry if this offends any fans out there. I would say Marius from Queen of the Damned because:

1) I love his voice. It's such a cool voice.
2) I love the clothes. Nice style.
3) The best for last, his personality. Like in the beginning when he and Lestat were walking on the beach, and Lestat was eating some sailor, and he had such a chilled attitude. I loved it. ^•^ GO MARIUS!

Varney the Vampire was pretty cool...when he decided to end his life, he jumped into a volcano. Now, if that isn't badass, I don't know what is!

Mine is Dracula from Bram Stoker's Book


He is handsome but not stunning, he is evil but has a soft side, he is in love but still fends for himself, he is protective, he is witty, he is passionate and brave. He is beautiful.

I'm not sure I have a favourite. It changes every time I read a new book or see a new movie.

In all honesty though, I do love Edward Cullen hahah. But I loved him more in the books.

This may change because I've just bought myself two new vampire novel series, so I'll have to get back to you.

I'd have to say D, the Vampire Hunter. Even though he's only half vampire. He has this sense of honor and at the same an extremely vicious side to him, all the while holding ongoing arguments with the parasite that lives in his left hand.

I like True Blood as well but my favorite is Eric. It is an adaptation from "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" by Charlaine Harris. He has that hardedge but sort of a droll "I don't give a damn" attitude as well. Besides the fact he is extremely good looking. I use to always watch Forever Knight and really liked that character as well. My favorite Dracula is Frank Langella. I love Lestat in the book and played by Stuart Townsend because there was a lot of background and you got insight into how he felt and what he went through as a vampire, but I hate Tom Cruise in the part even though I liked that movie. I just started to watch Moonlight and I didn't like it prior to reruns and it is rated by reviews to have been a mess with very bad scripts and acting but now that I started to watch it a lot I don't agree. I loved Julian Luna in Kindred: The Embraced. I liked his low key manner as a vampire and how they mixed sort of silently in with the humans as viable parts of society yet there was that hidden side. He was strong and acted in a very sensible way. He wasn't portrayed like a mindless beast. They had a code of honor.

Mine the vampire Arucard from the hellsing series (Manga ). He,s borders on insane he revels in the carnage so much . His laugh and his pure delight in finding situations that challenge and amuse him , allowing him to cut though swathes of undead , with lashings of blood and gore . His powers are just to cool . He turns into a black mist of eyeballs and dogs heads and sometimes centipedes , No matter how many times he,s shoot to a pulp , or dismemberd he keeps comeing back . He puts pure fear into his enemies before tearing them apart .

Also vampire hunter D is one of my faves . He,s the opitome of beauty and refinement . The strong silent type .

Marlow of Thirty Days of Night because he's not the pretty boy vampire type, and is evil, fierce and menacing.

Also I like Lestat (Queen of the Damned), although he was pretty, he was also deep and intrigueing I thought in character and seemed to have more layers than other vampire characters.

I would say also that Valec from Carpenters vampires was my fav. Powerful and on a mission. Gave another version to the old days of Beligosi and Lee.

Mine is very different.
I would have to be Zoey Redbird from the House of Night serires. Although she is only a fledgling, she is already very powerful and respected by not just her peers, some of the adult vampyres as well.

I'm also partial to the 'True Blood' and 'Moonlight' versions of vampires. They seem the most believable to me. Or at least, what I personally want to believe.

Asher from Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series tops every wicked creature I have found.

He is terribly, brutally scarred and moody as a woman.
He is also bi-sexual, loves cats, and BDSM as long as he gets to be the dominant. His bite is orgasmic and can even have flashes of recall when he is not near you that feel like the real thing and feed him even if you are only thinking about it while he is away.

He is a master vampire, though in the beginning of the series he is a slave of Bella Donna, the head mistriss of a sensual line of vampires whose powers resemble incubi and succubi.

He is European. Oh my Gods the accent alone would do it for me...not to mention their idea of actual sex and foreplay.

He is very tempermental, but when he has need of it can be highly diplomatic and intellegent. He is an aggressive fighter, but would rather not have to fight at all if there is another way to solve a problem.

I loved Jean-Claude until his sexy rump swayed into the storyline trying to kill Anita (only to love her). I hope she never cuts away all of his scars. I like them right where they are. Gorgeous god on one side and rigid flesh on the other...How could he get more perfect?

My two favorite vampires would have to be Dracula, and Carmilla.

Dracula because the really started it all, the power, the lust for life and for women. The hunger.

Carmilla, her sensuality is incredible.

Count Dracula...and i especially like the portrayal of him in bram stokers dracula. he is a creature that has an elemental power, he is evil...but also has great love. i find this combination to be incredibly powerful. combine it with fred saberhagans book "the dracula tapes" and you will appreciate him far more.

Pandora from Anne Rice's 'Vampire Chronicles' would have to be my favorite.

Simply because she is one sarcastic blood sucker.

Mine is Henry Fitzroy.. He is my favorite due to the fact he is smart, stong and he tries to help mortals with the killing of demons.. He tries to help..

The vampires from trueblood are likely how it would be if vampires existed, is the most coherent and realistic storyline of vampires among humans, in terms of sociological point of view, as well as in Moonlight.

Kiefer Sutherland int he Lost Boys is absolutely my favorite because personally I loved the character and actor.

Lestat...I love his entire persona, attitude, mind, etc!

I adore Jean Claude from the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series written by Laurel K. Hamilton. Even after reading all 17 books in the Series I still find him mysterious, he has a romantic side to him but ultimately he is calculating and ruthless.

I Love Anne Rice books because of the she can bring her vampire chactors to life and when she write her stories she really make you believe that you are a part of that book . And my favorite vampire has to be louie because of of the most sexy ones in the book

From fiction, I would have to say Nosferatu. His image still exists as one of the scariest, disturbing vampires in cinema. An amazing feat considering the age of that movie.
