Okay the whole word "Genocide means"

The deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.

Now if such a race as your beloved Vampires or Werewolves/Lycans.....or any creature for that matter.

Do you think the human race would commit genocide against it if we humans somehow evolved as can happen and that came out of it.

What do you think would be the Consequences??

Would humans start a genocide if nocturnal beings stepped out of darkness and revealed themselves to a world bathed in blinding light? (so that was a little more dramatic than in needed to be...)

I don't think it would trigger a mass slaughter. The key to a some type of significant reaction would have to be a mass display of force/power/proof of super natural powers as though there is no known genetic marker to empirically prove the existence of nocturnal beings. Most likely I think we could see the emergence of more KKK and Fred Phelps type groups.

I can easily see the legal system being used to sanction denial of rights, property and potential imprisonment for suspected dangerous activity.

You never know the FDA could decide Vampirism or Lycanthropy is a "disease or medical condition" opening the door for big profits to be gained by pharmaceutical companies, holistic healers and counseling professionals to cure us of the demons. The sale of blood or the acceptance of Donor websites (like dating sites) might even become legal, with the assessment of substantial local, state and federal taxes of course.

Seems as though the answer to this would be a case of WWII research. What did you think of the Holocaust? It was basically a mass genocide of the Jew.

How do you think society felt? Well, according to research and the as seen on the documentary channels such as the History, Discovery, Learning etc. More then half the world was devistated because of it.

It really does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that a mass genocide of any race, culture or society would be devistating to a semi-compassionate world.

Because, asking if the genocide of fictional characters is not that much to work with in a discussion. It's too broad. Underdeveloped... and well, fictional characters. Can't say the world would be put off any emotional axis because someone killed of the Smurfs, for example.

Ok if I have your question right, would humans commit mass genocide in regards to vampires or werewolves. I think they would yes. Human beings don't like the unknown or a group that is not on their level.

So supernatural beings with powers greater than that of a human. Yes humans will slaughter them to the last man.

Not all will have that feeling, many small groups would side with the supernatural beings and fight for their right to exist. But the majority will drown them out due to panic and destroy everything they can.

Its simple human nature.

The question is underdeveloped. You have to speak of which kind of vampire/lycan you're talking about.

If you mean vampires like Dracula or 30 Days of Night, yes I believe they should be stamped out.

If you are talking about vampires like in the movie Perfect Creature then, I say they have a right to life. I like to believe vampires would exsist to the benefit of mankind as, they would be a part of it.

Lycans I cannot speak on as I really don't know much about them.

My personal opinion is that I think honesly we would split in half on the matter.

Because we would have people that would want these vast powers for themselves or for there use.

Or even just single people wanting to join there clans or whatever it is they are because of there interest in immortality really.

I want you "the people" to realize one thing I want your opinion of what you would do because although mass would commit such atorcities what a few like you do.

I want to break the parameters of thinking and aknowledgement where are opinions are based on past references.

In such a scenario, people are forgetting cryptozoologists.

As soon as word publicly got out by gossip and trusted media. Cryptos would step in, and claim them as an endangered species until they can see or estimate ALL populations.

They would be studied extensively until proven whether or not that they are a threat.

I honestly, do not think any creature would be killed, unless an attack was made on their part.
