I"m not so sure what you would call that. It could be a demon or some sort of apparition...it could also be a fake picture...with such technology that we have nowadays, it could be anything.
I live right down the street from this building (pics in my portfolio). The only time anyone around here ever hears anything about Waverly is when some new "ghost hunter" comes to town or on halloween.
I believe, that if you go into this building (day or night) the only thing you have to fear is your own imagination.
I personally don't believe in "ghosts" haunted houses...spirit photos or any of that but I know that a majority of members on here do.In saying that...unless I myself see or hear something...I would try to keep an open mind...but it is hard to.
I have to admit I was influenced by the responses on the blog on the website, but I suspected it was fake anyways so that's my final assessement. That maybe it was lights from inside reflecting off of something and causing that. Could be anything.
We as humans, with flawed senses are prone to psyche, psyche unsupported
is rather sufficent to self convince a person, every cue, or prompt makes the psyche that more intense.
There would need to be an interview with the photographer, and perhaps the subject in the photo. The proportions are rather peculiar.
I live near the place but have yet been. My mom and her friends have and werew freaked. My uncle used to guard and heard and seen so much shit. If i go I'll probably be scared to death.
people scared, or on alert are amusing. As a practicing ghost personally observed a fair amount of people react to intentional effects, and their own abstract extrapulations.
People want to see others spooked for entertainment, as well as with the intent to soothe ( comfort) others.
Again the phrase " Admit it you where scared!" We all have our degrees of endurance to obscure occurances.
This is most evident when sime who insist they have experiences that convince them ghost exist they confront skeptics with " Your Afraid to believe ghost may exist."However after seeing such a person who claimed numerous sightings jump out of her skin when encountering an effect I am rather unconvicted by her fabricated testimony.
You are either "in on it", or a mark.
The place is Mass Hysteria and everyone who goes there is expecting to get scared.
So thats where if any entitys feed in to the hysteria and people see and hear things.Yes It has a bad rep because of all the horried things that happend there. But so do hospitals we visit once in our life times.People die horrible deaths there.Yet no one claimes that St Marys hospital is haunted.Or someone saw demon eyes in the ER room.
The picture is just a camera reflection and it gives the mind the Matrix effect.
That is where the mind puts pitures of simual things in to play and you see it.It happens when light hits a certin way in a mirror or a camera flash on a reflective surface.
I am not by all means saying the place is not haunted but you must realize people are feeding mass hysteria and so it makes it what it is.
Possable Haunting made by people.
I would love to go see Waverly Sanitarium. I would like it better to set up an investigation team there with full security outside to ensure no one is in the building and camera's at every angle.
Devils Lane is another place I would like to see. The Police even have it posted that if you go byond a certain point, they won't go past it to find or help you.
Sounds Like the Bunny Man Bridge
The Bunny Man is an urban legend that probably originated from two incidents in Fairfax County, Virginia.

The Ghost Tale has really taken a dive, I recall reading a Victorian era comic on haunted locations, the Accounts ( " true or theatric") are engaging.
Now I cannot think of the Steve gottenburg, Darral Hannan, and peter otool movie..
The pic is a fake.If i was a demon i would show up on cnn,i wouldn't waste my time with small time things.
I would say it is faked as well, it just looks a little too weird for me. The eyes don't appear to be behind the glass, but more like they were drawn on to the glass.
yeah I agree it looks fake but judging by peoples reactions on the blog, on the waverly website, many people actually believe it's a ghost or demon...so many people easily convinced it seems...
True, but you have to remember how many see the jesus on their grilled cheese as well.
That's true, some people are very easily convinced of the seemingly obsurd.
Hmm...I'm a believer in many things and I'm definitely not one to be a skeptic, but that particular photo looks like someone caught a bad case of red eye from the camera flash, or was wearing contacts and that's why the red seems so dominant.
Depending on the area the pic was taken, it's possible that they were old decorations. They used to have christmas things there, haunted houses, etc. It easily could be reflecting off of some old decorations.
It does look like a fake to me...I don't know if spirits/demons have red eyes...lol I know that I do when I have been drinking spirits!
People are so open to suggestion and on a recent investigation I went on, the crowd were so hyped up that people actually locked themselves in there cars (some even went home) because they were so scared! I was unable to stop laughing, so I went off on my own so as not to offend the scared adults behaving like uneducated children!
I think we spook ourselves into believing something is there when there isnt. Everywhere has buildings that are haunted (so they say) and they really put a lot into these by building websites, pamphlets etc etc. As such we get into this as we all have our thoughts and ideas on the topic.
I do believe in ghost but I also believe that a lot of it is scare tactics to make us go visit.
I've watched alot of specials on Waverly, it looks really scary.
The crew from "Death Tunnel" did a documantary on waverly.
It was very creepy. Almost every investigation team that goes in that place gets evidence of some kind.
I'd never want to go in there day or night.
Before we get to far here, I have investigated the Waverly this past May as well and there is alot of areas there where people have spray painted pictures on the walls. I do have a pic of the background that this picture has and I will review it and see if they match up.
Don't get me wrong I do hope that it is something paranormal...
Waverly is one of the Holy Grails of ghost hunter. I think with it's history and the real life accounts it tends to lean more to the possible. As for the red lights, there are a myriad of possibilities. They could be a reflection of exterior light, orbs, an animals or birds reflective eyes or that of a spirit. Just because there red doesn't mean there manevolent just that there red. I think as the technology improves more answers will come to light. As for Waverly it's up to the individual to decide.
I am not one who gets influenced much or that would believe anything but I am not a skeptic either.
I'm seeing more than just red eyes and a hand, I'm seeing a strange figure, like animal/human and I noticed the black drawings around and backgrounds behind them.
Surely it can be fake too but not necessary. I have a photo where I see strange faces and drawings behind, and the place is not even known as a haunted place nor I did anything to it. However not everyone sees them, I even sent it to a paranormal site and they said they didn't see anything, yet I do, and so some other people but not everyone, maybe even pictures are seen differently by everyone.
I'm not sure how to explain this completely, but humans are prone to picking faces out of ordinary objects. Even if there is nothing there, are minds will tell us that what may only be a dust speck on a camera could be a face. I went to that link that was provided underneath the photo and started looking through the other photos on the site. One photo of a hallway showed a 'face', but if you look at the rest of the dark background there are many other spots that could make up a face. Sorry if this sounds confusing, but if you see the picture I'm sure you'd understand what I'm trying to say.
It's photo number #13 on that website in case anyone was wondering.
sorry to me it looks fake, more like simply the flash of the camera that made the eys of the person standing into the shadow part of the place to apear red, like normla pictures with red eyes, it is the flash that hit it and the hand is the same person just holding on to the side of the entry, nothing special, like palying hide and seek being spoted by the camera flash,
sorry, my two cents.
Yes I agree people can see faces anywhere, anyway real or not I never heard of this place, so I'll read about it.
*feels excited*
Pity I can't visit.
I have always wanted to go there, and I would brave through the night to stay over, and see what happens. I mean come on people you don't know unless you experience it for yourself. Imagination has a lot to do with how you perceive these notations of what ghost activity is. Really do you know that it could be the aftermath of collected energies over the years of people leaving an imprint of themselves? It very well may be that. I believe it to be something to venture out on, and find out for yourself.
well i think the pic is intresting could be some type of demon but im not sure
