how did you come to find out that you were a vampyre?

i recently discovered myself to be a vampyre. at first it scared me and made me tweak because i had always believed that vampires didnt exist.but thanks to some nice people, vampire rave and google, i got enough information to know that i AM a vampyre.
but i am curious to know how you all found out and when.
(if this topic has been discussed before, im sorry.)

A dear friend of mine says that I am approaching my "awakening."

I was terribly depressed for over a month, and now suddenly I know that every idea, thought, belief, and every aspect of my life (even my career) is about to come under review and be challenged.

I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and I'm bouncing these ideas running around in my head off of as many people as I can find.

My moods are more intense, and I am thirsting for any bit of new information I can find. I know that if I were to just ignore this, life would find a way to bat me upside the head in a much more abrasive way. (For example, if you don't manifest a new career when you are supposed to, you find that you end up being laid off instead.) Personally, I'd rather be in the driver's seat then metaphorically get "kicked out of the moving vehicle." So here I am, on a quest....

It is a very scary time for me right now.

I have always been fasinated by the subject and had a taste for blood, but if I had to say when my full awakening was only recently, when I finally met some like minded people and immersed myself in it.

Throughout my life I always knew I was different from the other children I was around. I was always craving something, thirsting for knowlege and this...thing that I knew not. It wasn't until a few years ago when I had my first taste of blood that I realized what I truly was, a vampire.

I found out for myself. But information you seek is not always correct. People you know who are vampires then ask them to give yourself the correct knowledge because maybe the knowledge you recieved isn't correct. I'm not saying that none of it is true I'm just saying some of it might be false.

I was awaken about 5 years ago. I found the experience truly changed my life..In all things..My sire is a wonder guy.

to some of you my aweking might sound like out of a book or a cheap vampire movie, but it really was like this and im glad it was like this.

My awekening was five years ago at the 23 september 2000, I woke up and saw the sun rise. It was different from the times before and I felt strong and powerful, but the sun was like an enemy that tries to take my new power away from me.
Yet I didnt realize what had happened, because I felt like an addicted after takin his drug. My mind was thinkin of ten thousand things the same time and I started to see things another way. Suddenly I realized that my hands were red. There was a strange taste in my mouth and on my lips, but i really liked it - BLOOD.
As i turned around i saw her. She was breathing and i calmed down. I watched her sleeping, watched her breath and watched the spots where i had bit her. She was so beautiful and all over covered with blood. I caressed her hair and her face and she woke up - smiling. "My blood shall be yours, you shall own me!" I never heard someone talk like this, but it was like she said what I wanted her to say. I cant remember how much I had drunk that night, but she was too weak to leave the bed. I loved her and wanted to brink her food. Instead of letting me care for her, she turned around and showed me her beautyful white neck. I kissed her and hold her in my arms, when she said: "I know you are thirsty. I belong to you. Drink if you want."
It was instinct that had made me bit her and drink her blood last night and it was instinct that made me do it again. I kisserd her neck - tasted the blood - then bit her - drank again - felt the rush - stopped, although I wanted more. "Your weak, my love. I want you to become strong again and then I will feed on you. You shall be mine and I shall be yours." She was anemic for almost 14 days and all the time i cared for her, while she waited in our bed. That was my second birth. This day i was born as a vampire. An unknown power that had lived in me for 15 years was set free and it started to grow.

an awakening is anytime you come to your senses...when you finally come out to be something different then you were before...some believe you are born a vampire..i think you are made to be one...by yourself...it is the darkness w/in you that makes you good or bad..but that is just me.

I have always been different. I started going through my awakening as a teenager and finally became completely aware of what I am over a year ago. I was lucky to find a House with some very helpful members to help me out.

I also believe it is very important that you listen to your own feelings and not let anyone tell you what you are. It is fine to be guided but never let anyone else rule you!

I dont think i'm a vampire i'm more of a donor. I've always been drawin to people who are different and eventualy got pulled into this life. I

I am not a vampire. I do like to consume blood every now and then. I think it helps calm my animalistic side.

My awakening happened about 4 years ago, when I was 11.....It was as though I had not realized why i was different from everyone else my entire life...it's odd going throught the process of an awakening as a teenager, as well as the daily crap that we have to deal with already like school and dating....But now, I'm happy, but without a donor still, as well as without a house...someday, I wish to know others like myself in person...But I wish you luck with your awakening, and also note that Tylenol really doesn't help the headaches go away, I've tried....and cravings suck....

my awakening was about two years ago. i have allways been fascinated by vampirism and had a taste for blood and finally i realised this and i love it

Some people who come to a realization to their vampirism does help them awaken, other people need help for that extra push by experiencing their vampiric side by the taste of blood or the sudden drainning of another's life force.

well when we say awakening we mean finding the vamp within ourselves(which i what i see) but my friend which is a wolf says the first time she saw me she new i was a vampire. I reminded her of a cat.*lol*..but i also needed an extra push to awaken.I meditated and got some freaky responses. I dont know if awakenings are suppose to be physical but mine was.My teeth looked sharper at first and i became violent. I wanted blood most of the time. My friend says she doesnt trust the things inside of me.But im my meditation i also recieved that i had python in me and now my movements are like a snake. Is that possible? (i really do wonder).(sorry if i got of topic. ;-)

When i was 15 in an underpass near a haunted village called Blist Hill. Its one of very few memorys that i havewhere i can recall every little detail even the wind on my neck

well as for my awakening it seems like a little fucked up. i warn u believe me or dont .i dont care anymore of whut people say to my story on how i became whut i am today.

As i waz growing up i realized i was different from my family and the people i met.
When I was just a freshman in high school i started to get major mindgrains and couldnt stand the lights from the ceilings, the sun always hurted my eyes so i had to wear sunglasses to school but took them off when i got indoors.
Then I decided to look up my favorite subject which was about vampire which i did a whole research on them and i found out a few symptoms of being a vampire. Now mind u this is when i waz only half awakend. (yes i did just say half awakened) but it took me years to realize whut i am and try to bring it out fully.
As the years past i began to try harness my vampire powers but it didnt work as well as i thought it would. I couldnt stand the smell of garlic to the point if i even ate garlic all i would be sick to my stomach. I found someone (that later turned into my b/f then fiance' then into an asshole ex of mine) helped me full awakened my vampire soul as a birthday gift to me on my 21st birthday (long story on how and i dont want to bother with it since its a very bad memory of us being together). To this day he regrets helping me since he himself is no longer one (long story please dont ask).
But as a grew into my vampire state i noticed my teeth got sharper somewhut when ever im mad or pissed off and as for my eyes they changed depending on my moods. I also feel very tired alot since i am a psi vampire feeding alot but transfering out the bad energy which is always making me tired or giving me a mindgrain. Then i noticed not only did i have a vampire soul but animal like feature which turns out to be another soul of a cat form more like a panther but can morph into a human cat (if u want to call it like that). so here i am a psi vampire with a cat like soul also still trying to harness the moves of a cat but the purring and meowing is good to go! :)

ive always thought i was different. i remember asking my mum in her car "why cant i look at the sun, i just cant do it" she never answered me. it had always bugged me and scarred me into thinking id never be able to drive a car because of my problem. i went to the opticians and he said it was just hypersensitivity but i knew there was another reason. i finally knew when i tasted my own blood for the first time. the mettalicy taste that i just couldnt get enough of. i thought i was obsessed, but then i found this website and knew this was me. finally i fit into a group i am proudto be in. this is how i was awakened and ive never looked back since!

awakenings are not just for vampires .. werewolfs have them as do witches and anyone that comes to a higher relization about themselfs.

Some things just couldn't be explained. I was different I knew that, but having been adopted as well, things just didn't....fit.

I was drawn to a certain path, reflecting on it, and after being somewhat Awakened about 8 years ago, I continued to strive towards what I was.

Only recently have I had what I consider a 'Second Awakening,' and many things have happened in just a few short, very recent months.

Many things I like to keep to myself unless others have questions. It's been the way I've always been-- informative, but only truly to the right people.

I don't think i'm ready to tell other people about it, i haven't told anyone i like to keep emotional and personal things to myself. Plus i haven't had much, actually any experience with sharing this with anyone. Because you just know how they will react and i love my friends i do but they don't know about vampirism only sadly to say what they have seen on Buffy LOL
Anyway its not upsetting to me it doesn't bother me that much i get on with life and don't expect anything from anyone other than what they give freely I know its a thread about your awakening etc; but what i posted previously is all that i'm comfortable with sharing Lol really sorry if its very cryptic and i dont want to come across as trying to be all mysterious but there are just something that you're not comfortable with sharing and that relates to any aspect of your life.

Well, i know for a fact i'm not a vampire but i think that i could come to an awakening of who i am very soon.

I do not know who I am. I know that I was born February 9th, 1989 into the name of Miranda Kay. I know that I am a psychic by blood, and a witch by heart. Vampyre or Lycan? Maybe...but I do not know. I'm in the process of finding out who I am...and what I do know about myself is what I have discovered through years of life experiance.

i awaken on 9/29/2002. it started out as a bite as odd as it sounds. and it opened up some doors so to speak. it was as if i was reborn all over again. there are so many things that i did not know of or understood. and its kinda funny cus befor then, i didnt even beleave in vampiers or had any interest in vampires. but now i am what i did not beleive in and much more but i'm not going to get into that here.

i my self was born a vampire i didnt know i was one till i was 10 aparently over the years i have come to adapt my life style to being a vampire was hard to deal with at first but now i have a strangle hold on things

very good q , well for me it came or rather i found out from a stesful time in my life i was not real in to them before hand , and i was not all like in to at first i did qustion it i ask qustions and read books and so on, and then i had to ask me if iam one and the anwer was yes i do not know if this helps cause i still ask my self this qustion , but the feeding cravings i guess are indecater , but i knew i had to ask thow i think it isa person to person thing everyone geose thrw this a lil diff ya know.

I believe the experiences you will hear of in cases of awakenings will be as unique as every person. What I hope for any one is that when that time comes they are able to quickly find someone who is a reliable mentor to help them through this time. It can be a time that is difficult to metabolize mentally as well as physically. I do hold the belief that awakening is a biologically triggered event however and can be predicted if one is educated. And sharing this education with one who is awakening can help make the transition easier.
