The title may not sound like it is what it
means, but it is in a way if you think
about it long enough... I was just reading
a post on becoming a vampire, and I
started thinking, if *according to fiction/myth* vampires can be either made OR born, then what would honestly happen if you were already born into
vampirism, and then you were bitten by
another vampire... would you die, or
would you just simply not be affected at
all?

I thought that this was a pretty
interesting thought and I figured I would
post it, to see what others think might
happen...

If you were already born a vampire, and you were around other vampires, they would probably cause you to awaken depending how old you are, and your power

I've seen a movie or two where vampires are having sex and bite each other, it didn't seem to cause any kind of change. But then, that's in the movies.

I say you hook up with another vampire and give it a try.

I don't think anything would happen. It's kind of like if you already have AIDS pumping through your system, could you really get it again? Of course not, it's already there.
If you're born a vampire, then it's already pumping through your blood.

The belief is usually split so that this doesn't become an issue. Most people who believe that vampires are truly born, that they awaken to their power throughout life, don't believe that a bite turns people into vampires. And, those that believe that bites turn people don't really believe in born vampires. So, to my knowledge, it's a moot issue.

According to Hollywood, vampire sex involves biting, and nothing happens then. I don't think they would die, I don't think it would affect them at all.

This is deffinatley worth thinking about. I think that If the vampyre hasnt been bitten awakend to their abilities that it would awaken them. If they're already affected then they would probably just enjoy it. but I will definatley have to look more into this.

First off, I must state that I have never, in my life, met a vampire who could display anything but a desire for blood, bad taste in clothing, and an insistence that they were, in fact, vampires.

Now, there could be a global conspiracy preventing me from locating any, but who knows!*grin*

What I have managed to garner from scattered reports is that there are the vamps who are born to it...which I have big issues with, purely because a vampire is, above all things, a walking corpse, and it's a touch difficult to gestate a child in a dead womb. Now, I am certain there are those who will argue that point, but the fact remains that if you want to call yourself somehting, or be somehting, then you need to follow all the rules of it, not just pick and choose as it suits you. Again, PURELY my own opinion, if you have any evidence to refute it, I would dearly love to see it, as few things thrill me more than expanding my own perceptions.

As for the biting type, even as far back as early reports in the 1800's of Vampirism, is the concept of draining the human, and transmitting some of the vampiric blood into the subject. This, to me, seems far more likely a cause, on every level from the genetic, to the mystic. I cannot imagine the transition from living tissue to necroctic ressurection cannot be a comfortable one.

if a vampire gets bit by another vampire the only thing that should happen is that their sould will be awakened and unless they are cursed then nothing else should happen to either vampire

i dont think that if your born into vampirisim that if you were bit by another vampire, i dont think it would effect you.... but i think that it might wake up those sleeping powers

is this an RPG question, or real life? coz if its RPG, then consult the rule book, but if its real life there are a few things that need straightening out. firstly - what do you mean by vampire - its a word used to describe many things. do you mean a haemavore, or a blood-sucking ghost? in both legend and most fiction, the vampire does not kill with one bite - it returns to its victim night after night gradually draining away the life-force / blood until it dies - or goes to another victim, leaving the first to recover. the bite itself is not poisonous, if death follows, it is due to exhaustion or exanguination (or insome cases plague). the concept of the victim of a vampire becoming a vampire is not widely accepted - it would lead to an exponential plague that would end up like a George Romero movie. its badly thought out movie fiction - being bitten by a vampire will not turn you into an undead fiend.

On the TV and in movies, when one vampire bites another nothing happens and they do it in a sexual way.

If the symbolism towards the psyche is understood in a manner which causes a reaction, in releasing endorphines through psycho-somatic attributes, then sure, why can't a vampyre be awakened from anothers blood letting?

If both are knowledgable about the subject and process and attach the proper significances, then it's almost as with any other form of magickal ritualisation.

very interesting thought . . . i think if a vampire is bitten by another vampire then the two vampires will exchange energy with eachother. for example, if the vampire that bit the other one was a young vampire and the one that was bitten was an older vampire, the young vampire would absorb some of the older vampire's wisdom and experience once he bit him. does that make any sense at all? it just kind of popped into my head and i thought it was at least semi-logical. lol.

I think my wife already had it in her though she had never been bitin before me...I can't really explain it but it was a strong vibe from her when I first met her and then I found out she was already interested in vamps plus had been doing a lot f reseach about it for some time....anyway...when I bite her she felt energy and could feel my essence running through her body...so I still wonder if she was born into it...

IMHO, one cannot be bitten and made...thats fictional hollywood jargon...you are either born to it or you aren't...one can be born and be aware of it their whole life, or it could indeed be latent, in which case awakening is just a matter of time, either on one's own, or aided by another kin.

Myself, I always knew..even as a kid, but being a kid, I didn't add the bits all up till I got older, and by that time, others like me introduced themselves to help answer questions. Now I believe a soul is a soul..alive or waiting for an incarnation- if your kin, it can pass from lie to life...or you could've been another type of kin, say a therian...it all depends on your souls lessons needing to still be learnt.

As far as biting another vamp, well thats dangerous- from infections to passing diseases should you have blood to blood contact, it's a risky step that only fully informed, tested adults who consent should consider. For me it has created a bond with the other person, as well as energy being absorbed from each other in exchange. Most people who feed sanguinely do it from cutting, needles that are clean, or containers..tho thats icky cause it congeals so quick. Other methods like from sex or from element or even from people psychicly is ok too...they all have their different perks. When it all boils down it comes to prana. Energy, period.

As far as a vamp being dead and rotting, I think thats bs...the whole myth of vampires being that way started mainly as a result of the various plagues, when people who weren't quite dead got mistakingly buried and then somehow got lucky enough to dig their way out. Any normal passerby would freak at that and talk dirt..hehe.

AS far as being immortal, well if your sould is Kin, and you've had a few past lives you can remember, and no I don't mean talking shit about being some famous person for fun, well then, isn't that, having that soul, in a way immortal????

I remember lives as far back as Egypt thousands of years ago. For confirmation so I know I'm not crazy I have met MANY people in this life who confirm my memories with the same exact ones of their own.

I'm sorry Simon but when you refer to clan, do you mean rpg White Wolf junk, or real life....cause the only Clans I know of in real life are familial...such as Scottish...the whole Ventrue, Calmae thing is fiction. no offense...just trying to decipher what you said. I've heard more of Houses, etc. or covens as in pagan/witch. than people saying Clan (other than here which I was told was merely a membership thang).

I would think it would be a better ex[erience for the bitten vampirebecause they are not naturally born to vampirism... doesn't mean that I've said anything that holds truth, just speculation

Nothing would happen, except maybe you become attracted to them. Many vampires enjoy being bitten and sharing their blood with others as they do the same for them. Sometimes it is better than sex.

Perhaps the original forum thread is similar to the question of "what came first the chicken or the egg"

well lets just say that i am a firm believer i was born a vampire. i was born dead and was resusitated. i was around vampires when i was about 12 and thats when i started to become precognitive. i believe that another vampires bite wouldnt be harmful because just them beinfg around can awaken you

I don't care about bein born into it, since I know I wasn't. (I'm more of the fallen angle/kitsune type.) But if I was a vampire, I'd probably just be thinkin' about different ways to have kinky...vampire...sex....that's it for me....

I do not see how it would affect you if you are already one, other then the sex may be outragously incredible, as long as you do not kill one onther.. LOL! Seriouly how can you change what already is? unless it just intensified your powers or awakening...
