Daemons...

The nature of the Daemon has been changed significantly over the ages. For example the Incubus/ Succubus was portrayed as a non-corporeal fiend... and only recently has become a physical entity... Perhaps due to confusion with the Vampire.

I personally prefer the view that these creatures ARE corporeal beings, that they could be walking amongst us and we might never even know.

Maybe some of us are Daemons... Maybe some of us were born different... I mean we have all heard of 'real vampires' those born into the nature of the Vampire.. I myself am a 'born Incubus'

Any one wanna add... give an opinion, etc...

I believe that there are many different types of daemons...especially much more than listed

I think that both are very fascinating. But you are right I do perfer the older meaning.

That's a hard question to answer.

Logically, all we can do is theorize. Who can prove they've had an encounter with a demon? From there, the definition of the demon, like the definition of the vampire, will change with our aging cultures.

And then, of course, there's the question of the person who would claim that they have sat down for tea and crumpets with a red, scaly being. The question is this; grant that you did eat and drink with something not of this material world, and you video-recorded it and everything, but what proof do you have that anything that comes out of its mouth is the truth? And perhaps the 'demon' image is just a portrayal; another lie. Maybe you were actually sitting down with your very bored and very odd grandmother who is finding the afterlife a bit boring.

Well, anyway, to answer the question; I prefer the Hollywood version of demons. They're so much more exciting.

maybe the daemons are around us ? who is to say that the people who plan mass destrusion of the world arnt daemons ?

I beleive in demons and angels I will admit since I've seen demons at several times and they are crule and destrutive creature who only seek to cause pain and tourment. I've never beleive in other creatues or the night or of the dark side so unless they would come to me and proove without a doubt what they are well i will stand on my position.
I might admit one thing thop, we are all in the essence energy, pure energy so this is the only thing I will agree and that this energy can be negative or positive that woud make one be ether good or mean , a saint or a demon to the eyes of the beholder.

Well I have seen demons/daemons. I have seen those possess by these creatures and I have seen those who fought this creatures.

I know that they are very real and that they are very dangerous. I wouldn't go around picking a fight with one. and I sure as hell wouldn't want one tracking me.

I guess I can't really say anything as I have not seen a demon or an angel. Only heard what they can do, and I have yet to see them for myself.

MisfitChick, I would count my blessing. demons are nothing to fool around with. They are very dangerous. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky.

I have a question. If you are in human form and you are incubi/succubi are you considered a demon or just humans that have a decidedly different kind of gift?

I consider our 'natures' as Incubi/Succubi/Vampire/Lycanthrope to be but a taint or mark of what is our darker side

I was tired when I posted that... but yes I believe I am a Daemonic Incubus... but I am humane in that I have feelings, emotions, morals, beliefs, standards and so on and so fourth...

And Daemons are like any other living creature in that they are born neutral... and that through lifestyle... and other factors may chose their own affiliation...

Personally I do not belive in Good and Evil... they are extremities... and besides they are relative... meaning to that someone traditionally 'Good' Good is good, and Evil is evil... but to someone of a darker nature the poles would be reversed...

It is a matter of personal perception.

but the world is not neutral. any creature that brings harm to others for the that reason is evil. but I guess, that is a personally opinion.

I prefur the older meaning of Daemon. I do agree there is many kinds of Daemons. I dont personally relate to it but am aware of it.

Daemon/Demon I think the first is the older way of spelling it... much as there are Daimon... all different terms for the same group of entities...

An example would be taking my own life... my mother was raped (and I wish no further mention of this) - Now if I chose to go out and slaughter every rapist the world over would this be Good (because of the side-affect of less of these crimes) or worse because 'they' are still considered to be 'human' and to kill another human is a sin?

I myself tend to lean more towards respecting women... because of my upbringing and despise ANY man that beats, rapes or abuses women in ANY way...

I have worked with Daemons for quite some time. Incarnation of evil? I think you have been reading too many bibles or been watching too many Hollywood movies. Not that there is much info out there besides that though.

Yes, downright scarey at times, and other times the most beautiful presence one can imagine. They come in all forms (well many) and all moods LOL.

As far as a Daemon/incubisuccubi being in a human body, I would put that under otherkin and those rules of things. Has to be difficult though if it is a dhuman hating Daemon in this case!

I work with daemons in magick quite often, myself. Yeah, they can be scary, but I've never had a negative experience. But they are also made of different stuff than we humans. And I do view them as objective entities existing on their own, outside of the humanmind.

I believe, though, that part of what has been discussed here falls into the realm of "otherkin", as far as being born a daemon. And that's a whole other can of proverbial worms....

A vampire, by definition, is a reanimated corpse. A demon is an etherial spirit given flesh. Demons were never alive in the sense that most humans understand. They were always spirit.

Incubus/ Succubus are the male and female demons that inter into one's dreams....their intent is to put seductive thoughts into the person....So I guess by your thread I would say older.

It has always been the believe as far as I am aware, that Daemons are corporeal... though they were capable of manifesting themselves only astrally in this realm.

But for such powerful creatures, such ancient wisdoms... it seems odd that they are still trapped and unable to enter this realm in true form...

Also a thought but I think humans may have evolved from Daemons... or deevolved... and that Vampires and other semi-human kin are closer to the source, the more ancient, our forfathers

I think you guys are getting the words daemon and demon mixed. They are two diff things. Has no one read His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman? It has this theory of a world in another universe you can see in the aurora borealis (and probably southern one, too, but didn't say). This guy creates a power wave so massive it connects to it--a bridge to the sky. Well, it connects to our world. But in the world the guy came from; there are these beings called daemons. They are every person's soul in the form of an animal. It is usually of the opposite sex, and it fixates when one hits puberty. The animal and person are attached but two seperate forms. I hate it when ppl call demons daemons as we don't have anything like that here. It is in the young adult, go read it.

I agree with you but one thing that gets me mad is how people mix up lucifer with satan they are two diffrent beings altogether.

I believe that there are no angels, only the arcane. I also believe that daemons are out there, there are good ones and bad ones..but they do exist

By definition surely a Demon/Daemon is Evil

Then again the opposite is considered to be an Angel and some Angels could be considered "evil" as in the Fallen Angel

Would it be possible or probable for there to be such a thing as a "Fallen Demon" ?


And if so would said Demon be "good" or infact more evil than before it was considered "Fallen" ?

I would be very interested in your opinion of how an Angel can be considered "fallen" ?

Surely this implies NOT doing the bidding of their Super Intelluctual Master force and therefore maybe proves that as such free will is possible though admittedly not probable or even likely.

I believe demons can come in all shapes sizes forms and colors.......I believe a demon is a soul that takes any form...
