So, I think the subject line basically defines what question I am asking here.
My views on Angels and Demons are as follows:
Angels- Angels to me are souls that have reached an enlightened existence. They exist as spirit guides for us. I dont believe the Christian view of them, I simply believe them to exist. How they have come to exist? I believe they have been through enough life cycles (birth, death, Summerland, reincarnation, repeat), and they have learned all there is to know concering life.
Demons- I believe these souls are ones that are tainted. They became so hurt that they gave up on life, and chose to exist only to cause harm. I dont know (once again) see them as would a Christian, I see them as souls that are depressed to a point they are seeking a retribution of sorts, on mankind.
So... what are yours?
Angels: Created by God to carry out His will. They do not serve at man's beckoning. They were given limited free will.
Demons: Fallen angels who attempted to overthrow God and were cast down out of heaven. Demons hate man and will do anything within their power to keep man from God.
I believe what the Bible says about them. I know these aren't the views of the majority but, I could care less.
I ever most deffinately believe in Demons and Angels. It is whatever your personal belief and religion (if any) that determine if someone believes in them. Some believe that the Demons are the ones that is there to protect them, some believe the opposite. Do they exsist? yes they do. Do they interact with us? Yes again and on a daily basis.
What if they were one and the same .
Time to throw away the books?
Love an Angel and watch his wings grow,
Poke an Angel and watch his eyes glow.
Knight-
I love that!!! Ummm.... acutally according to Christan theology Angels are acutally not as peacefull as they are percived, so yeah that is a possibility!
theres just our spirits when we pass angels & demons dont exist good and evil dont exist there is no heaven or hell its just a concept of our minds when we pass we all go to the same place
we are the Demons of this Earth.
The Angels?? Think they gave up.
I think that angels are the essence of light , beings that are personifications of compassion , love , a creative harmonious force of existence . The polar opposite of such beings are the demons . I think they are the essence of shadow encompassing all that is fear , hate , discord and that they are the destructive force of existence .
I believe that humans are in the middle , and contain both light and shadow . That's why we incarnate on earth to rise or fall and in doing so we perpetuate existence . I reckon both forces are interdependent on the other , light wouldn't exist without darkness and visa versa .
Yea I believe they do and throughout culture they have taken many forms including ying and yang
Angels, and Demons
Angels - Guardians,Protectors, Lovers, Light, Good, Fighters, Warriors, and So much more... BUT Angels are not just good, and Light, and all that Jazz. Angles do have there darker sides. If Angels didn't have a darker side Lucifer would never of went against god. And I'm not saying Angels are just Christian. Oh no no no. I'm not Christian. But I do believe Angels are real. Good, and Bad. Good Bad, Evil Dark Light Fallen. There not just Christian, and there not just called Angels. In fact I believe Angels are just one type of thing like that. I think there are several Species of that kinda thing.
Demons - Dark, Evil, Chaos, Corruption, Malice. When you think of a Demon you think all negative things... But again that is not fully true... And Demons are not just Christian ether, or Satanic. There are good demons as well... There are many types of Demons. Several Species of demon. Dark. Light. Good. Evil. Powerful, Weak... Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Shadow, Lightning, Ice, and more... Some are even types of Animal demons...
There are so many of anything not Good, or not just Bad. Why do things have to be one sided, or one minded... I think it's silly to think that way.
i think most people when you say angle or demon tend to think of the christianized standard that angels are good and demons are bad
my views are angels are messangers and sometimes have work they do on the earthly realm i think they are connected to the more lighter side of energies
demons i feel are like guardians and also can be used in high magick for doing ones own bidding,i look at demons as being the higher more darker energies
I believe both exist in this world, as well as in other realms or plains of existence.
I believe that angels and demons do exesit .
But I do not believe that demons are fallen angels.
I have heard of good angels that do good things, but I have heard of the bad things that the fallen have done.
Demons on the other hand I believe are the pets of the fallen angels. Weather that is true are not I am not really sure, but they demons do not look like the angels that fell .
Oh its all maths/// the middle human numbers, the left are Angels the right deamons...as described from 1-10.
1 5 7 10 The human
the Angel 2 4 8
the Deamon 3 6 9
So what numbers define you? Yes , you already know.
number 6 deifnes me lol
let see my views on angels is that they are souls of people who have passed on and have ascended to heaven, now demons i believe not only to be falling angels but things that satan himself can create also i believe that some spirts that are earth bound take on demonic or angelic qualitys which is why humans feel them around them from time to time.
I saw something on the meaning of this recently and I forgot. Not an infrequent thing with me since I have fibromyalgia. I have never decided whether I think they are celestial or that there is any heirarchy like that in some alternate reality. They could merely be alien intermediaries. I do know that in the original writings of the Bible that heavenly host is heavenly armies. It was changed when translated because the powers that be did not want people to think of angelics having armies but according to writings they do have them. They have enough free will to do what they think they should and form opposing factions. As for demons, well the writings state they are the offspring of the fallen and not the fallen themselves. According to one religious scholar, fallen is referring to fallen in battle and not out of Grace.
Sooo, I believe those we think of as spiritual are thought forms that man has created through their own beliefs and the others were something else. The Nicene councils voted they were not physical beings yet one is having an arm wrestling match in the Bible and leaves prior to dawn which I thought was intriguing. There are other anamolies so quite frankly I don't know what I think in all actuality. Above is just one theory that has crossed my mind. Demons to me are any entity that has been discredited by a culture. They are not the same as the daemon although the word comes down from that one. A daemon was more like the leanan sidhe...inspirational, muse, guardian, etc.
There is too much conflicting information and belief systems for me to decide what I really think about them but enough that I believe they exist in some manner but I don't know if it is as described. Ever go to a party and start a joke at one end of a line of people and see what it sounds like when it gets to the last person? I think much of folklore is like that. When it starts it is one thing but by the time it gets down to our time it is something else. Many of the writings are after the fact by numerous years.
i think there are spirits/angels out there corruption /guidance
evil/good spirits/demons no matter what you call them they surround us
angels are from God and demons are from the Devil. that is what i've always been told at least
angels are spirits that people decide they like, and demons are more often than not an elder god that someone has decided to vilify.
~W~
To say ancient entities/Gods or the Greeks Romans Eygptians and Siberians, who were abandoned, became angry and demonic.
We can understand that, the betrayal of man.
there are so many opionions on what they are and what they are not it depends on how you were raised and such things as that i think but that is just another opionion LOL
To be honest,I am kindof diggin on what History channel's documentary Aliens and Angels says about them.
The Both exist.... I am a Demon, and I do know more Like my self. Weather we demons are good or bad... That is up to you. I think it would depend if Your my Allie or not... And Angels. I try not to be to close to them. I have only spoken to one in my life that was not trying to sway me away from where I stand. Again With angels good, or bad depends on how you look at them.
Angels - white, doin good
Demons - Black, dark, evil.
As simple as that. We need both sides as a positive needs a negative.
in a way you could view humanity as angels and Demons as they are a species that can be good or evil and its usually their fault when a town or other landmarks become ruined (through finances, accidents or gang war) thus creating a "Hell" for those who happen to live there. I won't bother saying about the good...since i don't really like them.
My opinion is:
Angels, how lovely, full of love, and hope, and light, well, sometimes. Some times they question, they have no choice, how can they believe in some thing that even some angels have never had the chance to see? Only getting orders from the archangels and others of high power, thus they begin to doubt, to lose faith and so, fall. Although that is not the only way one can fall, consorting with a demon is another of course. But, there are many angels, therefore many descriptions, some more feirce than others, it depends what their position is. For example angels of war; angels who are to be ready for the apocolypse, for the war of all wars are certainly going to be some what...Iltempered. On the contrary, angels who tend to others are to be most loving.
Demons, they are all dark and evil right? No, not all of the time, yes haha there are certainly your little devils, but some are not as harsh as people portray them to be. They can also love (hints the reason an angel falls), people seem to forget that they are tormented souls, they were once good, until they snapped. Yet, I suppose to be sent to the dark world you must have done some thing utterly horrid, for such a trepeditious place. I cannot say, or claim that they all have a good part, that would take away the whole meaning. there are truely evil beings, ones who love to kill, who thrive on it, who hold no compassion, those are the true demons, not tainted human souls.
I personally go with what MasterBatore said:
"Angels: Created by God to carry out His will. They do not serve at man's beckoning. They were given limited free will.
Demons: Fallen angels who attempted to overthrow God and were cast down out of heaven. Demons hate man and will do anything within their power to keep man from God.
I believe what the Bible says about them. I know these aren't the views of the majority but, I could care less."
but i wouldn't say with limited free will, actually they are the same as us... you have the freedom to do the right things and be rewarded for that, or you can turn your back to God and receive what you deserve... that is what a third part of the angels from heaven did, and they had the free will to do so... and the other angels still have it...
why would you (creator of the thread) took something out from something and distort it to your own pleasure or philosophy? what is the point in that?
they were mentioned more than 5000 years ago... despite the Bible have been written 3500 years ago (the first books of course) those heavenly beings were mentioned many many years before and their stories were passed along from father to son for many generations... so i would we take the credits from where it belongs?
Angels are mentioned and believed in almost every religion in the world, and none with your definition... have you thought about that?
Angels and Demons are one and the same. It is man who tries to distinguish them by their perceived nature.
Demons don't HATE man.
They are jealous, because humans have complete and total free will.
We are capable of being everything that the creator is/ever will be.
A unique creation in the universe.
I think your concept of free will is totally wrong...
you think you have free will, but in the end we are quite restricted to the laws of mens and physics...
for example, with your free will come into my house without invitation and you will see what is going to happen with you... this is not a threat, this is how things work...
your "free will" ends where it starts mine... isn't that right?! :P
Since i'm not religious, yet spiritual , my viewpoints do not contain definitions of what these entities are. People are quick to put a label on everything for identification purposes but that doesn't quite teach us anything at all whenever it comes to the spiritual.
We all recognize energies. We all feel when something is different around us. We get spooked sometimes, much like an animal whenever it senses something not quite physical yet carries it's own presence.
What really defines an entity is by it's actions.
Does it really HAVE to be an Angel or a Demon? Not to me, because I don't allow the religious definitions determine what something is.
I have seen black shadows before, and most would probably jump at the word DEMON. That doesn't make it accurate by any means.
Wow1!! That someone said that demons are haters of men and want to keep them away from "god"? Mm. probably you are wrong, IAW my opinion. Demons are not haters of men, they Love the humans, specially those who follow god, but do something different. Angels,
my views are good and evil. When I think about Angels and Demons that what I see. Not so much heaven and hell.
Angels give mercy to the blessed
And
Demons give pain and fear to the damned
Angels- Christian-Gods first creatures, no free will, love and worship god unquestioningly, gods enforcers, inherently good
Fallen Angels-Christian-Gods first creatures choosing to follow Lucifer who rebelled against God, Technically no free will thus why they were cast out, Hate god for casting them out and choosing humans over angels, inherently evil
Demons-Christian-Fallen Angels followers, Lucifer's enforcers, Created by Lucifer, Hate everything
In this present day and age - I could believe in ALMOST everything.
Angels and Demons - either we go Biblical/Literal OR figurative and metaphorical.
Good VS Evil - always happens.
In this... Doru is absolutely correct; originally... historically... "Angels" and "Demons" were and continue to be one and the same.
And almost without a single exception... every "angel" account has one common and telling element: they all contain direct reference to or purpose of ... sexual reproduction.
The first report of "Angel"-like beings in the Bible, besides those supposedly in the mythological "Garden of Eden" (cherubim), were the celestial visitors who descended from the skies as recounted in Genesis 6:1-4, the "Sons of God," who married Human females and sired children by them. Thereafter, almost every story of "angels" visiting Humankind seem to herald or closely predate ... a birth.
We have the angels telling Abraham's aging wife, Sariah, that she is to conceive and give birth to Isaac, we have the angel wrestling with Jacob that closely predates the conception of Rebekah and the subsequent birth of Benjamin who was the last of the 12 sons (Tribes) of Israel (Jacob). And that is the last "angel" we see contacting Humankind until... we have the angel visiting Elizabeth announcing the conception and birth of John the Baptist and lastly, of course, the angel visiting Mary to announce her "divine" conception and birth of Jesus.
As for "Demons," once again the first legends of such come directly from the later vilification and literal demonization of the same "Fallen Angels" (as they were erroneously termed) following their having been unjustly blamed for what was actually an ancient large regional flood later mythologized as a world-wide flood (Noah's Flood). From this point on, all "demons" found in Jewish legends are specifically linked to these "Fallen Angels" and their supposed evil-spirit children.
Then, a century or two prior to the Christian Era, the "Book of Enoch" was written and reached great acclaim (despite the glaring fact that this was written not by Enoch but by an unknown author thousands of years after the events described, and thus could not possibly be true!) in which the "Fallen Angels" are seen chained underground in a fiery underworld that is to be their eternal abode. This is the actual origins of what the Christians later called... "Hell." Thus was the precursor born for the Christian "Satan" and his "Demons."
And Islam, which arose and was directly derived centuries later from the Jewish and Christian scriptures and beliefs, adopted almost entirely these same definitions for both, as well.
Thus... "Angels" and "Demons" are, indeed, one and the same in Judeo-Christian-Islamic traditions.
Hopefully, however, for the discerning few and as my profile here goes to some length to explain... this common historical thread regarding these un-Earthly visitors points in an entirely DIFFERENT direction as to the true nature and purposes of whoever these "Angels" (later falsely vilified as "demons") actually were... and perhaps still are.

I wont call one person right or wrong (when it comes to their beliefs/spirtuality), thats just not how I work.
Anyways, I personally dont believe in the Christian concept of Hell (or for that matter Heaven). I dont believe in Satan, and I dont believe the Demons have a leader. Nor do the Angels. They are just their own entity/being.
But at the same time, I cant seperate the two beings. I have my own set of beliefs(which I wont go into here) , so basically they are one in the same, but they are like "yin and yang" if you will. There has always been and forever will be, a balance between "Good/Evil" or "Light/Dark".
Angels for me are the Army of Heaven. Demons are the Black angels of Hell. One day, those two army will confront each other for the ultimatum battle between good and evil. Yes.
There is no Heaven nor Hell in my beliefs, no ultimate evil either. There does exist evil in the world as well as good. Demons and Angels are no different than the Fae in my eyes; they have their moments; good, bad, neutral and everything in between like everyone else. We have all been taught to fear what we do not understand. I too often see people point out that demons appear as twisted with darkness as their deeds, but what of angels? Imagine such an example of supposed pulchritude committing actions you would find inconceivable.
I believe there is nothing in existence that is purely of one behavior or another.
I believe Angels are just spiritual creatures that God made to carry out his will, as stated from the bible. Angels can be good or bad.
Demons- tainted spirits of those who died or angels that turned away from god.
angels are not only messengers of god but also protectors
demons well my beliefs are there are evil and neutral i know for a fact that my bloodline has demons in it my mother was a succubus and she had me which could mean that i am one as well i thrive on sexual energy for at least a month or two before i need more but i only take the energy if the sexual contact is consented to but otherwise i do not take the energy unless it is nessacary but my mother however was evil in more ways than i might know however i do not know how many of my siblings where ever they may be are the same as her or at least myself. i am neutral however but that doesn't mean i also don't thrive on drama in my own home so if you think about it there are so many definitions of angels and demons how people precieve them is a totally different story
i may have a different take on things, but i dont follow the god of the israelites. i suspect that the angels/demons are a set of minor gods or spirits that were once worshiped as such before the israelites became monotheistic.
whatever they are, i just consider them spirits...no more wisdom than we possess , and certainly much less power than the gods of folk traditions.
~W~
i fear that the subject must come down to what we choose to believe since we cant capture one and identify it...
but i do find the thought intriguing.
how would you capture one?
(and i havent read the book or seen the movie...is it about this subject?)
~W~
well now i think the better question is more: how would you go about finding one let alone capture them?
I have a profile on my views concerning angels and demons. :o
To me it's all just a fantastic story and nothing more.
There's also a book on Angelology about someone who saw angels/captured Nephilim. It's called [Heart stopper] Angelology.
It's also one of the worst books I've ever read, but that's just me.
This is my opinion.
Angels-
I believe angels were created by God, to serve Him and do what needs to be done. I believe there are different angels for different tasks- guardian angels, angels that play music, angels to protect mankind.
Demons-
I believe that demons are angels that chose to rebel from God and therefore good ways. I believe they're the true opposites of angels, corrupted by evil, taking pleasure in doing harm.
My views are honestly pretty much what the Christian Bible says. I definitely believe in both wholeheartedly. But that's just my opinion, there are a lot of really interesting views :)
I believe that for every angel there is a demon and vise versa
Well if you open this link below and watch this VIDEO it seems the video shows that an Angel is back in town...Oh nooooo... here comes the fireworks me thinkst...
Runs into his cave and covers his ears...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1378901/The-Dome-flying-saucer-Rock-Mystery-UFO-seen-Jerusalem-holy-site.html
To the people that say humans have the demons or angels within- Isn't the world supposed to be one big Purgatory?
demons are mainly oposant to the divine to me, rebells that cause pain and wish to destroy instead of help and built, as opose to angels who are gardians, protectors, savors, guide there to help and support.
I believe that both do exist and are quite similar to one another. In my opinion, the biggest difference is their own individual personalities. I believe that those that we typically label as "demons" are more mischievous and possibly more filled with malice. On the other hand, "angels" are kinder and more giving. However, neither angels nor demons are completely black or white.
I dont really believe in either, i do however believe in good and bad which many believe is what Angels and Demons relate to.
My thoughts...Angels and Vampyrs are possibly the same. Those we call "demon" from what i am told, have always had a place here even before our Angelic figures came around.
Biblically speaking, this would be correct.
Some believe that "dark forces" are growing because they want their 'home' back, as they have been driven somewhere else so to speak.
Most of us can relate to that for the same forces have been driven here on Earth as well, on our plane of existance whenver it comes to religion and it's effect on the masses.
Angelics generally work with the "Source", using the knowledges to help the world and the people within it, versus harming.
Demons to me are just as powerful but use their energies towards other things with other purposes.
I believe demons are highly malicous, malevolent entities. That are out for themselves with no consideration to any living thing. They are everywhere. There is a demon for everything just like there is a saint for everything.
As for angels. They do not heed to man's whims or will. If they do interfere with human affairs its because God told them so.
If you read between the lines of the bible. We are not the first he has created. That demons are beings from his previous creation that were sent to the void along with the fallen angels. That demons (previous sinful creation) possess people. Not fallen angels. Demons are without bodies. Angels fallen or not have bodies. And a physical body cannot wholly enter another physical body.
my views are that we are the DEVILS and... we are the ANGELS, relected by our behaviour.
Well in my opinion...
Angels and demons are the two faces of same creation...
Angels are good to good peepal and escape from peepal having bad mind.
Demons are good to goodness and bad for the bad mind.
Third one is you. how you treat them with what inner your inside...
If you are good person universal, everyone will be good to you, and if you have bad thoughts about person to person, demons will take the toll on by boosting again and effect will be as per the law of karma...
Very good Venum. This much I relate with and understand. The inner you has a lot to do with what kind of people you draw towards you, be it demons/angels and otherwise.
with all things you need a possitive and a negative. That is just what angels and demons are a positive and negative.
I'm not sure I really believe in either. Both seem to be used as a way for us to project our own sense of meaning or causality on events where none exist, or as a means for us to avoid the uncomfortable idea that we do bad things on our own accord.
We beleive they are one in the same. Everything is capable of doing the so called good things, and the same as doing evil. Its a choice on a day to day feeling of emotions. So Angels and Demons. We think they are just that. An Angel one moment, and a Demon the next. All depends on what the situation calls for.
My views are related to my religion:
"Angels" as humans call them would be Astrals that have passed to another plane of reality to be free to travel space and time at will
"Demons" as humans refer to them would be the UNDEAD ONES that assist us Living Vampires in our Dark magic. Also called upon as the incubus or succubus to torment in nightmare spells such as 3 nights of hell.
Again, just from the views of my religion and my interpretation.
so glad u posted that i LOVE angels i feel like i know them, i believe angels of light were created by God as guardian angels (to protect mortals) messenger angels (carry messages to other angels during an angelic war or to mortals) healing angels who heal mortals and angels hurt in war and ect.
demons are fallen angels or dark angels they follow lucifer the once angel of light who was brighter than all the other angels, he is seeking to destroy mortals, and angels and God (even though kicked him out of heaven faster than a lightening bolt-go Zues!)
hope my input helps
As a pagan I'm not sure the terms angel or demon applies, as they're christian concepts. However, are there benevolent/malevolent beings out there/ Quite possibly.
Every religion has its angels and demons some by different names then others, most views are the the same but when it all comes down to it, after you peel off the layers and layers of stories and fairy tales we have been told about them, it boils down to this...
Angles = good
Demons = evil
Now were my family stands they way my grandfather showed me angels are those souls lucky enough to have been so humble and so loving in life, that when they died they become what i call Watchers. They make sure those that need help and are being attacked by those I call Spawns {not the peeps called from the comic}
Spawns as I call them are souls that were bad in life that hurt and killed people. When they die even if its old age its a painful death and even in death they can not get away from the pain. So they torment and try and taint those other souls around them.
Angels and Demons are entites of the same aspect. The differences is that the demons reflect the nessecary aspect to drive man towards certian goals. If we are not strong enough to resist, or we become to complacent in our lives, demons are the ones who enfoce the status quo of breaking us from the path, or driving us to ruin should we not regain control over our own lives.
In my oppinion,
Angels do not really exist. They are what people have made them out to be.
Now demons on the other hand.Demons are men and women alike. Those who lurk in the shadows, truly never feeling anything at all.I would know, im one of those people.
Angels and demons and equal and yet opposite. Angels are abstract extensions of God's will. Demons are angels who have detached themselves from God and by doing so, have allowed themselves to be infected with darkness.
I'm not really all that religious, but I like to think theres such a thing as Guardian Angels.
I don't think there are necessarily Angels and Demons but forces that are good and bad. There is good and bad in all of us. It is which we choose to follow.
Furthermore, we are all human beings and tend to make mistakes. Therefore, we all are bad at some point.
I do however firmly believe that there are Guardian Angels that watch over us
