Over the last few weeks, I have had the recurring dreams of people melting like wax, only to be replaced by someone from my past (not always the same person). Even during a small catnap. The dreams have been so real, that when I wake up.. i cant tell if im still stuck in that dream.

Is there anything out there on factual dream interpretation? Links would be wonderful if someone could provide them.

(I should note.. ive been suffering from severe insomnia, and my stress levels are through the roof).

(My apologies if this isnt the right place for this topic.)

I have seen quite a few books on dream interpretation and psychology; however, I have not seen any sites that freely give out this information. I wish I could be of more help. Good luck with you persuit.

As there may be many links and books on such things, I found that only the One who is having the dreams can truely understand and gain the proper insight from such dreams...Each mind is different and their interpretation of each image would have a personal meaning...

Enigma - not sure I follow. I figure they have to mean something, since the same theme keeps repeating itself.

I have tried altering what I read or watch on TV right before going to sleep. however it seems to be to no avail. At this point, im also lucky if I get 4 hours of sleep at night/day.

I thought maybe if I can get a handle on whats causing it.. or whats worrying me.. I can avoid a doctor. *shudder*.

I do not have a link for you, but I do dream interpretation. If you want to message me and tell me EVERYTHING you can recall about the last dream you had like this I will be more then glad to give you an interpretation. When it comes to dreams sometimes it is the small things left out that make the dream make sense so be sure if you choose to do this to give me as much as you can remember.

I realize that you are looking for information online to resolve what your dreams mean, however, there is also a book written by Alex Lukeman, PHd. The name of the book is "Nightmares...How to Make Sense of Your Darkest Dreams". I have read this book myslef and it has helped me as to why I keep dreaming that someone kidnaps my children. Because my husband has recently become a driver and is constantly out on the road, my responsibilites have increased. Therefore, I have spent less time with my children in or to take care of things. My dream basically meant to me, that if I didn't start spending more time with my children, I would lose my connection with them and therefore, lose them.

Dreammoods is a good website for that information, I use it all the time.

When you are talking about those people that are melting away, do they play a significant part in your life. And those people from the past, were they also a significant part of your life?

You mentioned something about your stress levels being up, maybe those people from the past have helped you, and this is your body's way of saying, 'hey you should seek help from them again' or something like that. I'm not sure, just my theory.

actualy kt.. those people from my past that are replacing those melted.. are horrific people I want nothing to do with.. although some are people I havent thought about in a very long time.. at least consciously I havent.

Has anyone here ever had a successful interpretation?

Not neccessarily looking for an online cure.. just an alternative to prescribed drugs.

You'd be surprised at one place where dream interpretation is discussed. The Christian Bible, I'm not trying to convert, only to inform and show you that even the "holy rollers" have experienced it. The book of Daniel in said reference is especially full of dream interpretation.

Interestingly enough, you said that you're under a lot of stress and wax is supposed to represent too much happening in your life. That's a very general description found on most dream journals but when you combine it with these horrible people from your past, the interpretation could take on more meaning.

Perhaps you are concerned in your subconscious that your hectic lifestyle and lack of grounding time is leading you down a path where you could become or your relationships could become more like those you had with these past 'horrible' people. More details could enlighten this theory further.

My advice would be to slow down and meditate on peaceful activities for a weekend. Simple things like puzzles or painting or some kind of relaxing hobby (not vegging out in front of the television or the computer since that typically doesn't actually relax most of us but more or less takes up time without doing anything at all). Relaxing can take effort but I'd like to hear if that would change your dreams.

I'm glad you are wise enough to avoid prescription drugs as an answer - elastoplast for the mind.

I am a trained counselor with considerable experience in dreamwork - i know several people have offered to help, but all the same, i offer you my hand too. contact me if you would like my help. my method is not to offer a stock answer form of interpretation, but to help guide you in finding your own personal interpretation.
