do you think mediums can really talk to the dead or is it all stage play. if so how can some know about your past and certain things you have done and know about your lost relatives, i went to a medium church yrs ago and on the way there i kept saying i didnt beleive in it. but had mixed feelings when i left. what do you think.

I think that the people who can really talk to the dead don't advertise it

Maybe they aren't really mediums, maybe they're telepathics. Instead of the dead talking through her and giving you messages, they are actually picking up on your thought, events that have happened, things you want to happen, people you have lost and are very emotional towards they pick up on and tell you what you want to hear, or what you fear to hear.

Some I think really can. The ones who are freaked out and don't market themselves are more likely.

I think most are con artists but some are real.

The tv show Medium is supposedly based on a true life story of a woman who aids the police. I have come to beleive that many things we think of as unbelievable do often have a basis in truth.

I think it if highly possible for spirits of the dead to talk to the living. Many of us are not sensitive to this but I think there are the special ones who are receptive.

The ones who are authentic, I think do probably help others...as in the case of the one who aids police.

usually when someone terms themselves as a medium they are generally fakes, i know people who channel spirits and i know for a fact they do not advertise it because of all the fakes most spiritual translaters tend to keep it to themselves or only share their gift with those they truely trust.

Mediums are people who have a special gift that allows the spirit people to give mesages from the afterlife. The objective of a mediums work is to prove survival of the human personality after death and to help the bereaved come to terms with their loss. Sittings with mediums are not for fortune telling but are experimental sessions to provide evidence of survival. Any attempt to communicate with Spirit is, by its very nature, purely experimental and therefore, results can never be guaranteed.

malditamayfair, you seem to forget that a true channeler doesn't charge or create stories to gain money from those greiving people and that most medium's are charlatans who play on others misfortune not all spirits are seeking relatives in the living world some are far older than you could imagine and they are the ones who guide the living in one way or another through being channeled

also most spirits contact the channeler and not the other way round

I believe there are certain individuals, only a very few in one lifetime, have the actual ability to talk to spirits.

Most people claim they can talk to spirits on here.

The "mediums" where probably just empaths trying to make some money. I myself can speak with the dead and I know things about people that I have never met before. But I do not know if I am a "medium" or not.

I went to see one just last week , at a friends house.. she held my watch and came out with some pretty amazing things... so yes i believe her, she doesn't publicise herself prefering word of mouth,

my friend is quiet new being as we work together and doesn't know my past..

so there was no way the medium did...

she read my cards too...it was good , and opened my eyes

I practice the necromantic arts and have "talked" to the dead as you put it so yes it does work and is very real :)

I think like psychics you have ones that truly do speak to spirits and can converse with them and you have the charlatans that end up on TV shows that get your details before hand and make a huge show. There are true mediums and true psychics out there.

Unfortunately, we have to deal with those who have gone before us, and I believe true mediums can help. Trust in those who you know to have that gift, We must remember to deal with those we love around us honestly in the event we seen them no more in this life. I try to keep those who I care about most in tune with what I'm feeling to prevent if possible a need for further communication after I'm gone.

Some can talk and listen while others see pictures and then try to interpret the meaning.

I believe that there are some people who believe they really are mediums just like there are people who really belive they are vampires, r psycik (cant spell)

I think there are real mediums out there and there are those that stage it all

I don't think that Real mediums would sell themselves that some do on TV.TV mediums are just plain fakes,or thoes one that you call on a 1-800 hotline.

I think the majority of Mediums are bogus. I am a medium, and I was a medum for a paranormal group. I didn't not talk to the spirits. I could only tell where and when they would appear.

lol, I think the mediums you can call up are definately bogus. I just don't think they'd try to make money out of their "gift" it seems like an abuse of power to me...

Ive never experinced a meduim in person.. but I think like most things some are real and some are fake... I think some meduims place people in their clowd with the right words to say to make it seem like the connecting to the great beyond, when other mediums are for real and connect not only with the "spirit" but with you... I believe anythings possible....

I once had a psychic reading at a coffeehouse one time. I shelled out $15 for this woman, and she was waaaay out in left field!

On the other hand, at this same coffehouse on another occasion, I struck up a conversation with a girl at the coffee bar, and she started telling me things about myself she couldn't have known, and asking me questions about things I didn't mention.

I have found that most people who ask for money for readings are fake but have met a few who do not believe in asking for money to tell you things have been right on with the things they have told me. I was told by one person who is psychic that a real one will not ask for money for what they do.

I believe alot of it is phoney, yet i believe there is alot we don't know about special powers genuine people have. But I am sure they don't flaunt it off like a circus.

There are some, I believe, who do exactly that. When one discovers they have a unique gift or talent, it's not uncommon for them to showboat.

as everyone else pretty much has stated I believe mediums exist but the good ones don't tend to advertise for mere fact that they don't want the extra added attention brought into their life. I believe that some empaths do have the ability to become mediums, but not all have the ability to do that.

I believe that there are mediums, but what you encountered I just can't say. I do believe that life goes on after this one. Unless there is some unresolved issue involved beware.

I think its 99% fake, but their is probably 1% somewhere that can really talk with the dead but like i said in another thread the fake mediums ruins it for the rest of them...

being that i am one i believe in it and i can tell u that there are some really good fakes out there! so be careful!

I believe people have a hard time letting go of the deceased. If they are willing to seek out a medium in hopes of making contact with a beloved one, then they probably are desperate enough to believe even if the conversations with the beloved are vague.

yeah I believe in it.. althought I think many people fake it.

I believe in spirits and that there are people out there with this rare gift to be able to communicate with the dead. I would enjoy learning more about how they can communicate with them, and what is it that these people sense when they are communicating to them. However, I also believe that there are many people that pretend to be mediums in order to make a profit which is very unfortunate.
