Have recently read an interesting member article by Aoibheal about Nephilim....the sons of heaven.
They were said to have found human females attractive and sired children.
If heaven had sons why not daughters ?
Can anyone shed any light on this please ?
But honestly.. I have no ideas.. Sometimes people just don't have girls.
I am not trying to be a smart ass.. but maybe becuase Men wrote the bible and most of those books and one of the things they were trying hard to do was wipe out the Goddess worship
that and it does kinda back up that female evil and bad and weak thing that I see in alot of the Christian stuff.. you know that whole apple thing
Thats what I mean by sexist people. Only I hadn't thought of the goddess worship, good point.
Genetic manipulation.Think about it..
The original intent was to impregnate the "Daughters of men" with the seed of the Elohim.More sons with this seed to impregnate more daughters,so on and so fourth...I believe I spoke of this in another thread, with plenty of suggestions to start your research on this .I have found you simply cannot look in one place. One leads to another and it is all inclusive.Math, science,Physics, microbiology, genetics,Geometry,Chemistry ,theology..the list goes on.Message me if anyone would care to talk about what I have found.
I agree. It was probably the trying to whipe out the Goddess worship. That seems the most realistic and logical route to that question.
I disagree. But rather than go into I feel about it in any kind of authoritive way,
I would rather share what I have found and save you about,oh a few yrears of footwork? Seriously, have alot of stuff that I had to really dig for that I would not mind sharing so you can research on your own and form your own opinions .If you are really serious.
I am not sure if I agree with ruling out the whole Goddess thing yet, you do not hear of any female desciples or angels they are all men. I just think that they out numbered the women Of course anything is possible.
I do not discount that either completely, but I can present a number of theories as to why and why not one thing or another is going on.Thus,my reasons for extending my invitaition to disscuss it with others.
But not in a public forum ,there is simply too much. .And see,it goes much farther back than gender.Zeropoint doesnt have the ol frank and beans if you know what I mean.
And seriously,we can not really KNOW the truth, but sure is fun getting as close as one can to it.Doesnt hurt as bad when you take the recoil.
Thanks Oceanne will message you later.
Save you keep posting lol
so, yes blatant sexism makes sense.
But before they visited earth, these sons of heaven.....were there no sisters ?
As far as I know there is no mention of the following, Lilith, Nephilim, more than One of the Fallen in the Christian form of the bible. Now in the Jewish texts, all are included, and yes slightly chauvanistic were the men of old. It is quite possible they had daughters, but they felt hightly unlikely since all Angels were considered Male.
Also, considering they are Angels, we have no idea what Angelic swimmers were like... maybe their Y swimmers were just better than their X swimmers... we don't know.
(and yes, being funny, haha)
This is kind of weird but they were probably jelous of girls and they probably didn't like girls.....
This is a simple question to answer and i agree with some who have remarked about the sexist infidels who have been trying their hardest to blank out all worship of the female form.
However, in creating such sexist crap, they have actually highlighted the very important role of the female force (the role of creation) which has led a great many philosophers to summise that god could only have been a female as men (according to the biblical textx) are able to create only conflict whereas woman can create such beauty in the generations of children that are always being born into mankind.
M
menerfecious does have a good point. Women are the ones in which children grown, and are created. This situation highlighted female's important role, but think of all the other times, in more recent history when women were segregated and persecuted. Did the same thing happen there? If you think about it, almost any time a group has persecuted, or segregated another certain group in our history, it pretty much backfired on them.
maybe the its simply to make the text less heavy, you know like the masculin in a text by default to make is simpler
I have to agree with Stabb. It is historically proven that any type of worship that focused on the female was discouraged.
it was discouraged to worship women I agree, maybe because they were afraid that the women had alittle more power over the men so they did not want the influence from women.
Which is kinda crazy you cannot have one with out the other and women are the ones whom teach love, nature etc. more so than men.
In my book,Both Stabb and menerfecious
are dead on .And as I stated before Stabb, its a hit on the genectics. But as hard as they have tried, they havent quite been able to ever get rid of "Sophia", in that name, or any of her other names now have they.So really the sexist thing becomes moot, because it is just too easy to get around .Untill you bring in the Hermaphodite. Then it really gets fun.But I'll tell you,Im so tired right now I cant really think straight.
So if no one minds,I will just listen and maybe throw something in here and there till I get some rest.
For a change, being raised as a christian has it's benifits.
GENISIS 6:4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went in to the daughters of humans, who bore children to them. These were the heroes that were of old, warriors of renown.
Now, back when the Bible was written, women were considered subservient to men, and thus, not worth mentioning. I believe this veiwpoint is derived from the tale of Adam and Eve, where Eve was made from a part of Adam (a rib) FOR Adam. They believed that since woman was made from man and for man, that she is lesser than man and it is likely that anything that was done by a woman, credit for her actions would probably be awarded to the male she was associated with, be it her father or husband.
I have recently come across a tale about Lillith, being Adams first wife, created in the same way as himself, and thus equal to him, left him and soared off into the heavens, and God made Adam a replacement for Lillith (Eve) when she did not return. There are of course other aspects to the tale but that is the part that relates to this thread. Too bad the christians out there that have so much influence over the affairs in this world are never taught the entire truth about what they believe in and even their teachings conflict with the Bible they hold so high in regard. And still to this day the church has most of society pushing the female status down, and probably don't even realize it because it's just habit and nobody says anything about it to correct them. Originally men and women were equal, and despite the biblical evidence that woman is subservient to man, that will continue to be the truth.
Well, I've started ranting here, and am starting to get slightly off subject. We were talking about the Nephilim, not just female omission in history. Just look into your mythology, all the gods that interact with mortals ARE the Nephilim, and they in turn created heros such as Hercules (the only half-breed I can think of, sorry).
funny - with the Sidh it was the other way round - their race was doomed because they had daughters but no sons. that's why the females were often seen as incredibly beautiful. but the males were wizzened and old.
As Phoenixnigthinggale mentions that the nephilim are found in Genesis but never mentioned or explained again in the bible. Another way to look at it, is the translation, many phrases in the bible defer to the male pronoun when tranlsated from Hebrew and Greek but could have referred to "he and she" or "they". One example is the word "alephoi" which literally means brother in Greek, but could mean "brothers and sisters" or the "group" in some contexts.
well i have to agree with an earlier statement. In the past men were concidered god's so anything involving creations, developments, or ideas will not involve the woman. But thats the past time but their are some people in this world at this very moment who think like that still.
You're right Pepper, but they are indicated in the Sumerian codex as well as mayan gliphs if I am not mistaken.
Thank you Pepper I never even thought about translations.
I'm wondering now if it wont be too long until more female oriented works are actually brought to light.
One should also remember, that The all male church had the bible translated, then still into the 15th century the printing press invented made many bibles but still by a Male dominant society so I can guarentee any translation not liked by men would be changed or omitted.
I agree with FelineDraco.
The bible was written by men and they did want the worship of other gods and goddess's wiped out, so they said and wrote things in a male point of view, and a point of view where everything was bad if it wasnt what they were doing or what they believed in. I do not believe in the bible but for those that do if their were sons then their had to be daughters to...
Agree about the whole men created the bible and that thing about us being a temtping evil with the apple and that women can't be goddess and blah blah. I think its all bull, just to make men seem suppieor(sorry bad spelling) to women, to make them feel strong and good about themselfs. To mostly be incontrol of everything.
the nephilim were suppose to be the sons of angels that found the daughters of earth desirable not the angels themselves
Nephilim - powers of an Angel with the soul of men. nephilim are long lived and hard to kill.
the bible is full of Nephilim, male and female. there are stories of people living one thousand years or more in the bible and performing miracles.
if Nephilim are real.....and i think that they are.......they could have been all of the ancient Gods of old. such as Greek, Roman, Norse, Egypt, and so on.
when God flooded the world he did so because all of the Nephilim became willful and wouldn't listen to God any more so he killed them off and made all of the Angels return to heaven and the Fallen to hell.
of course this is just a theory.
Stabb...I think you hit the nail on the head...
under transubstantiation, you become mortal....it doesn`t state you become human.
so maybe while the parts work right from the male side...who knows from the possiby female side, also one male can impregnate many many females in a 9 month span....so if the focus was to further a specific bloodline..then males would be the more likely choice, if it could be assumed angels had choice as to male of female...and personally I feel it likely that there would be a certain androgeny to such a creature..
Quote:
The old testament is full of God not only punishing mankind but his very own angels as well. Including wiping out the whole world and starting fresh again. These Nephilim stories are nothing more than stories to keep the young Jewish males in line. And not to lay in bed with a female outside of the Jewish community. It's a great story but that is all it is.
end quote
There is geological proof of a great flood, which is what was supposed to have wiped out the nephilim....so who`s to say that it sits outside the realm of the possible, for someone who does healing by invisible energy you are quick to discount the possibility of something considered supernatural.....
i think it could be possible that heaven could have daughters i find most things written by fellow males usually are more orientated towards sons but also maybe he had only sons as not to lose the dominant genes.
That's like this question:
If Adam and Eve were supposedly the first people on Earth, why is it that they only had three sons? (Cain, Abel, and Seth) How could they procreate without having an Oedipus Complex or incest relationship?
Adam and eve didn't stop at 3 sons...just the stories kind of leave them behind at that point
I agree totally with FelineDraco, it`s typicall for the men who wrote the bible that they just let them have sons, to avoid the worship of the goddess
But maybe the Nephilim saw the flood coming and jumped on the Unicorns and went to some other dimension. Anything is possible. Don't you just love stories.
Yes I do like stories....and thanks for the info Billy.....though feel you may have tempted providence with the flood question lol
I hav e found a site that lists names of all agels and a t quick glance did mention at least one female angel
Charmeine
Angel of Harmony
Charmeine wraps a deep feeling of harmony around us like a
blanket of love from the Mother. She is charged with leading us
on the journey to harmony through self-love.
Gabriel
Angelic Messenger
Gabriel, an archangel and one of the two highest ranking angels in
Judeo-Christian and Islamic lore. Her name means "strength of God".
She is a unique archangel in the sense that it is almost certain she
is the only female angel in the higher echelons, although some believe there are no female angels. Gabriel fosters joy, truth, justice and love. She grants wisdom in interpreting our dreams and visions.
Gazardiel
Angel of New Beginnings
As an angel who holds dominion over the rising sun, she encourages
awakening and enlightenment.

i think the whole wording has been mis-construed. 'Sons Of Heaven' was to include women too, but the 'male' dom attitude applied.
To properly analyze this legend, it is first important to find its source and examine that. Just as the Garden of Eden and the Great Flood began as Sumerian myths brought to Canaan by Abraham, who was himself a former resident of the Sumerian city of Uruk ("Ur of the Chaldees" in the Bible), so also were the Nefilim -- the myth sandwiched between the two aforementioned ones -- also of Sumerian origin.
They were known as the "Anunnake" ("Offspring of the Heavenly Prince"), numbered among which were females, as well. The greatest of all Earth's goddesses and precursor to Egypt's Isis was the passionate Inanna. Only thousands of years later with the advent of the male-centric patriarchal system of Sumer's conquerers, the Assyrians and later the Babylonians (during whose reign Abraham was born), were women written out of both history and power due specifically to the perceived threat of females' inherent sexual superiority over normal Terran males. And that fear and intimidation has been perpetuated upon women ever since: because of women's potential for endless sensual expression (multiorgasmic capacity, to be frank), Eve -- as representative of all women -- was accused due to her sensuality (desire to "taste" of "forbidden fruit") as being faithless, disobedient and "weak." And throughout history in Semitic religion (including today's brand of Christianity), women are still perceived likewise. All of this began only following the conquering of Sumer's extremely pro-female and pro-sexuality culture and supplanting same with the patriarchal system of Sumer's conquerors.
Abraham chose to continue this devaluation of women in the new culture and society he created after migrating with his family to Canaan. And thus, as the religions he started have come to dominate the Western World, have things unfortunately continued ever after on this planet.
