The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

If vampires, witches, fae, dragonkind, and a plethora of Otherkin all take in, manipulate, and use various energies of differing "flavors", is there really any essential difference between them? If so, what? Or is it all in the manifestation of how the individual chooses to understand and present themselves?

i think that the energies do have a basic common dinominator but i think its a personal thing on how one chooses to use these energies that is best suited for them upon the personification of which character they can take on.

I now personally do not think there are different energies.

In the duality of Spirit thread I mentioned an event which seemed to me to prove this.

So that is why I think energy simply is, and we ourselves manipulate it to our needs and wants.

No I have no scientific proof of this.

It is merely my personal belief.

I believe it is a matter of how the person wishes to manifestate the energy or energies... though they may or may not vary...

When it comes down to it, energy is energy...in my opinion...

i think the difference would be in how it is used. like say you give 3 poeple a steak and one grills it one eats it raw and one totaly ruins it by puting it on the stove. they each used the same kind of steak but in different ways. it could be the same with energy

like i have mentioned before i still feel that this is a something that has to deal with each individuals personal prefference.

I think it depends on
1. personal opinion
and
2 what that person was raised with.

Each individual is going to have a different preference.

Some will choose based on how they were raised, while others will choose to their own liking, what best suits them.

There will always be different recipes for everyone. Compared to how you would cook a certain dish...

Very well stated. Along with since no two beings on a cellular level, their basic make up is the same....they might be an oak tree, or human, or rosemary, or a rose. It still remains, that apart from cloning nothing is the same.

If you then go from this, and accept that the individual is an individual, it is where and what that individual finds he or she comes from. Be they the first creation, second creation, third creation, spiritual planes, elemental planes. It is what their awareness is about their origin. All is from the Universal mind (hermetic concept) or Chi, its just a matter of self recognizing the currents that flow in oneself and others, and what the corresponding energy is in the macrocosim.

This is of course, as far as my research has uncovered.

But witches and fae are strong in ways werewolves are not, as are vampires, magick flows through them all, and vampires balance the scales of things, however in their own rights so do witches, fae, and werewolves....is it so cut and dry as all that?

No the energy is all the same, its just the difference in how its used that makes it different.

I also believe the energy is all the same, it is up to the individual as to how that energy is manipulated and used. It all boils down to personal choice.

i would have to agree with many others that the enrgy is the same it is just what the indivi8dual chooses to use the energy for and to what extreme they need to use it

i think you can look at it like at people.. they are all very similar, they have a common fundament that they share, but a lot of things are differnt... every people has its characteristics and its the same way the the mentioned creatures... just that the differences there are more visible then with people

I dont think we are all the same. That is like saying that a poodle is the same as a saint Bernhard. What makes them different is the different forms of energy they use and the way they use it.

Especially the werewolf one. In folklore when some would be tried for being a werewolf the sign was cannibalism but some attribute that to vampires too and not all vampires drank blood. I think it has been over-blown in the re-telling and when it got written down that was all that was remembered and the scariest part of it but they are talking about walking dead beings anyway; superstition.

I believe the energy would be the same and perhaps and only perhaps they would metabolize the energy differently to account for whatever reason they needed it but I haven't heard of others than vampirics needing energy in this manner. I have heard of energy signatures if that is what you are meaning. I have heard of Psions that wield energy and others that use it magickally beyond those that might be termed witch which is ambiguous at best. I think some can tap into energies easier than others but that is like anything...some are better at things than others. Even healers work with energy.

energy is energy. the difference is in the soul.

vampires take a life force to survive witches dont they make do with the power they have or the evil ones just take it

i find that the differences is how one perceives themselves in the aspect of what being or Alter-Ego personification they take on.

Depends on if we are discussing the sociological boundaries of the differant stereotypical words.

That was nicely put whisper, each has their own way depending on how they were taught and raised as each has their own way of how they live like in tha example you made.

I think that there could be differing "flavors" of energy, but as one that is VERY inexperienced in this, I could be wrong. I know that vampires and otherkin manipulate energy in differant ways, and aquire that energy differantly, but depending on how you get that energy, does it "taste" like anything?

For example, sang vampires drink blood (we all know this, just humor me) and they say the blood has a taste. Like it's sweet, metallic, salty, or what have you.

So I ask again, does the energy "taste" like anything, depending on the type of otherkin you are?

By that same token, one could argue that everyone and everything subtly uses or manipulates energy in some fashion. Perhaps not on the level of a Reiki master but who's to say things like empathy and intuition aren't forms of the same energy sensitivity.

well we do manipulate energy, just look at our computers. perhaps not the same degree as is meant, but still proves it possable

I believe it is baised on which being they connect with the most and how they consume and use the energy.

There's no real difference to me in this fictional vast of beings. Just the physical state and motivation.
