ok i had to re do this forume, and hope this is better,

in the psoting there is a small story about how there could be a possible vampire god, after you have read, has any one heard about a legand similar to this, and i am not claming this is true but i do belive this could open up a better discussion then the other

i dont weather i find this completly true, it dose sound like a fairy tale but then so dose the bible and only storys i have heard other then this one have to do with cain, and lilth

While this story has similarities with many other vampire creation myths. It seems to follow a standard set pattern that can be found throughout many cultures. Someone beloved and powerful commits a "sin" and is punished with eternal damnation and drinking blood.

there is no damn Vampire God,I read this story when you posted lastime.Even If there was a Mighty Vampire God he would have been powerful enough to overthrow any God instead of being banished.

This is an interesting story. Despite the fact that he would indeed remain here on this earth, and the other vampires are a pale shadow to him.

That would be interesting, The old world has yet to truly bare all the mysteries as the they had different ways for working, living, and the magick was alot more raw.

well, don't really believe in any god, but I find the story quite interesting, who is to say it isn't true? But I think it sounds more like a story someone has made up, no offense to any one.

who is to say that other gods would not have their own defenses...perhaps he is not strong enough to drain them....

I have to agree with OniKumo here on that this story seems so cut and pasty from other mythology stories that are around. I would like to think if there were a Vampire God his/her story would be more original then that. I do not see Vampirism as a curse placed on a set group of people that may be descends of others with this gift. Or that the first person that had this gift was given to them because of some sin they committed so some God that ruled above them cast upon with eternal damnation and drinking blood. But I have read that in many works of fiction and its a plotline that just gets so old... someone needs to be a little more creative then that.

Interesting read, but it sounds like to much of all the other stories thats out there. Not everything is the same, but it does tend to stick to the basics of someone "sinning" then being banished with some affliction to another place....

as in many origin stories and religions I think there is a bit of truth in all of them and not one of them is completely right. That is why there are so many similarities in all of them because there had to at one time be a basis for all of them to come from.

Well I know for a fact that the vampire goddess is lilith the dark goddess. she is my goddess 100% i have her for a goddess sence the age of 14 and she has always help me out with my vampire powers and stuff.

I find all these posts interesting. Maybe I am just set in my ways but I believe the Gia theory. But who really knows what IS ? There are so many stories about how life began. I guess we can believe what we want and just take up the information and make up our own minds....Claire

Maybe there is a vampire god, maybe not. How do we know that what one man concieves as a diety is real? If ten people believe it so, is it? If a million? Where do we draw the line between thought and reality?

Fantasy... That's all. In my own personal belief...that's fantasy. Don't anyone get their bloomers in a twist because I don't believe. lol The only God/Goddess I really believe in...are the ones inside me. No, I'm not a split personality. I just believe that I make my own Fate. When I light my candles and I talk to the God and Goddess...I'm really just talking to those aspects of me. I'm looking deep inside me for the answers I seek. I don't look outside of me for something else to blame when something goes wrong...or to praise when something goes right. However, this is getting into religion and that's not what this thread is about.

aren't all gods vampires? well psy vamps at least. but why should there not be a god of vampires? there is a god of blacksmiths, a god of gamblers, a god of drinking. there is a god for everything.

the story is a good read. yet i see all the disagreement about there being a vampire god. a god is someone you worship and fellow. it might not be the same for your neighbor. if we are here 2 judge then maybe we are on the wrong site.

well i have got to believe in a god as well as a goddess because all my family are wiccans and pagans. but i am the only one in my family that is a vampire. so that is way i am just a witch.

Sounds just like a blatant mix between the plot behing stargate and the dhampir myth.

Sounds sort of like the strory behind the Kindred, how the oldest was the original, commited a great sin, and was punished for it, there are all sorts of legends and stories with this theme, Cain, is an example, he commited the murder of his brother abel, and was cursed with, well, its not really specific as to what his curse is but the point is, these kinds of stories are abundant, and you are bound to run across similarities eventually.

If it were possible, I would give a totally unbiased, uninfluenced, neutral opinion on this subject. However, being an opinion, it cannot be.

That said, if there were gods, some would be tempted to "allow" themselves to known and worshipped by humans, and some to be tempted to physically interfere with them and the lives/pattern of life when it came down to how the humans lived.

Knowing this, it is possible to see one, if not more, committing some sort of sin or breaking some law set down by the other gods and being punished to live amongst the humans with some sort of lust or hunger to punish them in some way.

Along with this idea, it is possible to see the humans taken by the fallen god to be given, accidentally or otherwise, similar powers of the fallen god when fed upon, however it was done. Once obtained, the powers gained by the humans, along with a similar hunger or whatever you wish to call it, would compel them to take others, expanding the number of those who have "inherited" the powers of the cursed and fallen god, but in a water-down effect so to speak. Along with this comes the idea of differing species of vampires, spoken of in a different posting here.

But having said all of this, you could say I agree to a degree with OniKumo and Isilmea, but then again, there is the fact that the exact story posted at the beginning here does sound like a modern version of what may be a true story, but to me it sounds like someone came up with their own version. If there is a true version out there, someone has yet to find it.

Only when someone can prove that this idea is entirely true or entirely false can we come to a decision on this subject.

I don't think that it is true I think it is just something that someone has written.

The story itself does sound as if someone has written it, and who is to say what it sounds like. If it sounds made up, then it probably is, and I'm sorry to say so. But despite what some people say, some stories are made up, and others aren't, no matter how they sound.

I hadn't really heard of any vampire god except the one they made up for the "Blade" movie. Saying that vampires were punished by being turned into vampires is like saying that African Americans were punished by god with a darker pigment. I think that evolution is more truthful here than a vampire god.

This story does bring up a good point. While I don't agree with it entirely, there's always a "God" ruling over each person, creature, etc. whether they believe in it or not. Who do the vampyres turn to when they cannot face problems on their own?

It would be very interesting to find out if that vampire still exists today.

The only kind of vampire god I've heard of would be Lilith, who is the Mother of Night, head Succubus, Adam's first wife who had sex with fallen angels to create a whole new league of demons, incubi, and succubi.

it is basically the same story that has been told a thousand times by thousands of religions. It is common for mythology to have a good vs. evil theme. Good wins out, and evil is punished. When evil was punished here he was made into a vampire. When the Christian god punished lucifer he was cast down into hell. These themes can go on forever.
These are tales of MORALITY!!! Do good and you will live a prosperous life. Do evil and you will be punished for it. It was how ancient people taught morals and social mores to their children and kinsman.

I agree with the last post. In order for the ancient to cultivate their childrens' mind and teach them right from wrong, they created various myths and legends.

Yet, it is true that such a story does not seem to me less realistic that all those "fairy tales" discribed in the Bible.

I think that like all other vampire stories this is just that, a story. It does sound interesting and I might be inclined to read a novel written about it. I love vampires and the thought of vampires. I don’t believe however that there are now or ever have been real vampires. It might have been easier to believe a hundred years ago when technology was not what it is now. I honestly don’t think that there is any way that a single or more than one vampire could exist unnoticed in today’s world. Since there is absolutely no proof that vampires exist I would have to say that all stories and legends about vampires are just fiction.

A god of any kind is as real as the people who believe. That doesn't make the story true or the myth a fact, but there is no proving or disproving, and for the believer none is needed.

Vampire God....now who could have come up with that one. Anyone could invent one and post it. The OSV use the name Elorath as the name of the "great vampyre essence, and the Undead Gods". However there is little to suggest that this is any thing but another made up term, as is the myth in question.
For myself I do not believe in Vampyre Divinity, but do pay homage to Lilitu and Set and Sekhemet as my personal deities. By their attributes they represent the spirit of vampyre beliefs.

The only god that I have ever heard about even being related to vampirism was Bacchus. But that I am sure was not even close seeing how he is the Greek god of wine and intoxication.

i believe in many gods but i believe Lilith to be a vampire Goddess/Demoness, which ever they mean the same thing.

well as with all books , stories and legends about gods ofany kind they were writen and interprited by man... and man creates things as he/she sees fit... as was the vamp-god in this myth. and btw i see my gods and goddesses as perfect.

i have to say some things here
1) in many myths not commonly seen the egyptian goddess isis is considered to be a vampire
2) the above mentioned myth is also considered the basis for the anne rice vampire Akasha
3) in the bible of christianity there are many referances to a grand council of dieties that most of the worlds christians have chosen to ignore the "Heavenly Host " is refered as a group in the lost book mentioned in other post threads

so with this knowledge who is to say that the heavenly host did not include a vampiric or vampire-esque diety

It is an interesting story, however I don't believe it is true. I have heard of there being a "first" vampire who had no weaknesses and didn't have to kill innocent humans for blood, but rather they offered it. I don't remember where. Just a theory that I heard of.
