I would like to know why it's such a big deal for US to feed and not harm,yet people are still in fear.Why are WE so diffrent yet still classified as killers?

It seems to me that people are afraid of anything that is different from the norm. Not to mention, blood is needed to live. If someone takes too much, they could accidentally kill the donor. Plus, there are those that choose to kill when feeding. How can people tell which ones are which? It's not like the ones that take life are wearing a sign so they lump all blood drinkers together.

i dont think causing a death via vamiric means is okay. And society still has a big taboo about it due to the mythical vampires in literature, and blood born diseases........

I don't think it is necessary to kill the donor, but I am sure it has happened. This is like everything else....people fear (and sometimes hate) what they don't or can't understand. It's always been that way, and unfortunately it will probably remain that way. It's sad, but you can you do?

Killing anyone isn't ok.
Modern day vampires do not need to drain a person of blood to feed, or drain them of energy either.
Killing by any means, that makes people afraid. Being killed by a raging psychopath makes them even more afraid, and to the majority of the world, anyone who says they are a vampire is a raging psychopath.

I wouldn't say that the majority of people live in fear of vampires....being that they do not believe they exist.

i agree with carval on this one. ive opened up to some of my friends and they think im crazy. some of the ones who believe are afraid of my now and dont talk to me much. i think that is because they are big time wiccans who cant stand the though of causing harm.

feeding, of any kind, causes harm at some point. as long as its dont in an ethical manner with consenting adults, then it shouldnt be a problem for anyone.

wow these people have very good points well it all comes down to the movies in my eyes...like in movies we are classified as killers but if they knew how we really reacted and harmless we are they would think different

I don't feel that anyone should judge without the knowledge to back it up. That sort of thing is wrong. We all know that it is harmless but those few who have taken it too far seem bent on ruining it for the rest.

This is a good reason why I do not discuss my "feeding habits".

People are afraid of what they don't know. To most, drinking blood is "unnatural" and they assiociate it with Hollywood monster-type vampires. The vampires that kill without a second thought.
Simply put, people are ignorant about most things. I include myself in this, there are a lot of things I sterotype because I don't understand. EVERYONE does.

ahem people are afraid of just about everything, vampirism is just one on a freaking hell of a long list, but back to the topic killing is a cruel thing, regardless of how its done.

of course, i think we dont want to kill anyone, but some of us when we feed, we need to cut our partners or bite them... and not all of the people want to be a donor...

Because Some gothic and vampires Do kill for blood because of hollywood, hollywood Gave the wrong opion of vampires .

its just ppl fear the unknown and we shouldnt let them know our feeding habits anyways unless they are really close to us and trust us.

well people always fear what they do not know or understand.yet also they are taught that all vampires KILL due to the hollywood movies and clich'es hopefully one day they will understand that not all vampires need to kill in order to feed.

The fear in my view is from a few different areas. Of course a big part of it is that few that are not part of our world understand what we are and how we feed to start with. And there is also that base fer of all (ok most) humans to fear what they do not know or understand.

But sadly the fear is also based in a very real grounding. there are always the nut cases that claim to be vampires that are in truth serial killers ( in fact on a true crime show tonight I was watching one such case.. wish I had noted the name) This is all of the "modern"vampire that a great deal of people ever see.. so they fear those that claim to be vampires as they connect the two.

This is one reason I am one of the people that do not hide or stay cloaked any more .. hopefully the more people learn and know about us the less fear there will be.

You always hear people fear what they do not understand, that is true but it all comes down to what you hear from other sorces, as most have said vampires have been given a bad reputation, As killers, monsters, or worse, My advice, Find a willing donor, and keep them to yourself, not to be selfish, but if you are worried about the reaction of people, then you should keep it to yourself or seriously reconsider your lifestyle, for example most find it perfectly acceptable to eat nearly raw meat, I know it is not the same but, you are the one worried about the opinion of others, I personally see no reason to hide who I am if someone doesn't like how I behave, how I dress, or even my diet, they are not anyone I want to associate with and therefore their point of view is irrelavent to me. Of course I may be wrong, that is how I feel Take it or leave it I hope I helped.

I personally think you should keep your feeding habits to yourself in general, its never a good idea to get sharey with people you don't know. My closest friends have realised what I like and gotten scared- theres only one person I really trust with my ';feeding havbits' but i think its a very complicated and individual thing.

I think first of all, ignorance is a big part of it.Secondly, do not take what is not offered.And this is my own belief system, but taking will give anything or anyone a bad reputation.Its not a game, like some think. What is given is viewed as a gift....
Force nor doing something simply because one can..is not what we are about.Honourand integrity and respect for others..goes a long way..above all...we represent our kind, not a computer game where it's all for fun.

i dont think it should be kept secret among those that do what you do, personal if you dont share some then well your perpetuating the ignorance of people that arent do it as well...

well, im not open with all the people even if i love them.
My family doesnt know that i drink blood for example. I don´t consider necessary to enlight them. they wouldn´t understand...

I do not think their is a need to feed today, i mean modern day vampires do not need blood to survive they drink blood because they want to...

People fear the unknown, I have never killed or never will kill. There a many who are willing to be donors. I feel this issue is personal between to willing consenting adults. And it also really heightens the sex life.

just because someone drinks blood does not make them a bad person it just means that they are into something that is really not mainstream.

i agree with some that the fear or the unknown has conclusively lead to the death of countless individuals for their beliefs and/or lifestyle but the only way to get past something like that is to get the stupid "normals" the knowledge about how its not a threat and as much as like being an outsider in todays world, the fact that i have to be so quiet about what i am really gets to me.

I believe one will know how much they need to drink before they are satisfied. But to be quite honest, with all the diseases out there that is transmitted by blood, who today would want to drink blood straight from someone whom we know nothing about unless they show proof that they are clean? Not me.

I think alot of it has to do with the influence of Old Wives tales, Folklore, and Good Old Fashioned Hollywood. While a vast majority of Vampires feed and not harm anyone, there are always a few that do kill people. So that is always taken and put to the forefront, to scare people.

People think I'm crazy and messed up just because I like blood and have strange veiws on life. They just don't like it when someone is viewed as being different then what society says is normal

I do not see how a modern day vampire could kill someone by drinking their blood unless they are a mental case, and a lot of people really frown upon someone killing a human being...

can a vampire really drink a full humen outta blood?....no they cant....therefor i do not forsee "killings of humans" happing by vampire. the human may just lose 2 much blood, from the bleeding after the bite.
