There are a lot of different versions of what a vampire really is. What is your idea of a vampire?
my idea of a vampire was on the sci-fi channel it sounds like i'm stupid but the guy they were talking about was named Vlad he lives in New Orleans i think it was. He did drink blood but only from his sexual partners. Thats the only thing close enough to a vampire i really believe in.
My version of a vampyre... I never heard it quite put that way. Perhaps one that needs to be social but at the same time removes him or her self from the main channel. They feed off the energy of others and have had much tragedy in their life.
My idea of a real vampire is like dracula, everyone else is modern day vampires...
My idea of a vampire is dark, mysteries. sexy, and very intelligent creature. They have been around for many many years and have changed in so many different ways. They have evolved in a sense some are psi vampires that only feed on energy others still thirst for blood.
my idea of a real vampire is one that love drinking blood, that needs it ... and someone that even when love warm environments can be under the sun... i also believe in those who feed off the energy...
A vampire, to me, is someone who does lead a solotary life, but helps others when the need arises.
A vampire may drink the blood of others or just the energy from others to sustain them.
A vampire also helps new changling into the new world tht thay have entered.
I believe the Vlad of New Orleans, who lives in New York since 2003, is a cape wearing, in need of attention seeking individual...Who wears black even in 95 degree weather. He only states that he drank blood for show. An atrocity of the truth out there, but stereotyped. I knew him personally...A very big lifer to say the least. I do not respect Vlad for many more reasons than this.
I hope you are not offended by this post.
My "version" of a vampire huh? *chuckles* This to me is a silly question, a vampire is a vampire no matter which version you are seeking. Of the children roleplaying, the lifers thinking, or the truth in knowing...Either way, these are stereotypes for use only to endure the nature of that of which lay within each individual...That is, in a sense of getting to know the energies, how to take them, how to manifest them...No, not psi-vamps, as kids tend to call them. I speak of the knowledge from experiance of each individuals life. Blood maybe the life, but the energies within the blood is what makes the essence.
My opologies, just rambling on.
my version of a vampire is He can control and turn into a mist, He can not enter unless he is invited and I think one would be like vlad,
My "idea" of a vampire is in the full romantic Hollywood or Gothic tradition.
However I fully agree with Cade as to the reality of vampires. Even if it seems more than a little parasitic.
I have several views/ideas about vampires.
The original myth type of legend.
The romantic hollywood type.
People who believe they need blood/energy from others in order to function.
The rpg'rs who confuse alot of people by making absurd statements.
It's no wonder that new people on this site feel the need to ask the same questions over and over.....confussion is rampant lol
we are a race of people who take on and give out energy stronger then our human counterparts however we tend to take more then we give becous our bodeys do not give us the energy to sustane ourselves
Well i think that a true vampire would be immortal, would need to trink blood to stay alive, is afraid of crosses and garlic, can not go out into the sun ect. that is what a real vampire of myth is, everybody else that are not these things are just modern day vampires...
A Vampire to me is a Person who has no issue standing up for themselves.. Who has a good set of shoulders and knows the Value of a good friendship and Family.. Has no issue going forth and getting what it is they desire which includes feeding.. Is intelligent and wise in many areas.. They are good natured for they ave nothing to Fear nor are easily angered For they Know Ignorence and it doesnt fase them for they dont associate with it.. Their Moods are stable due to their High Maturity... However is Provoked a Vampire has Strength and Wit about them to easily Defeat their Foes..a Vampire has a Beauty within that makes them shine outwardly this enables them to be so appealling to others making it also easier to find a good feast...A Vampire is a Amazing Creature we should all try to be like
The strength, the romance, the sensuality is in the legend, the myth. Anything else pales (sic) in comparison. If it ain't true then by God it should have been. Like history itself the legend is continuously updated and made more politically correct. Vampires should not be politically correct.
As I have posted in other threads. What I consider a Vampire is the next evolutionary step in the food chain. A predator. Human in appearance. But an animal none the less. You will never see it and realize what it is unless you are the next meal. It is cunning, intelligent, deliberate, and yes Mortal. But a predatory creature whose main diet is you.
I love the way you put that Shadowfever..I could not have said it better myself.
If its tv/movie I want the blood sucking, big fang mystical shadow . the kind thats riping you to pieces and you say ok master. Reality check. More of feeding of emotions of others. Drink blood if you plse.
My idea of a "Vampire" comes from the fascination I have always had since I was a child. From movie's..stories..fiction. I imagine a creature of great strength and paranormal abilities. A creature in need of human blood and energy to continue his/hers existence. A creature that has a sexual desire and passion for love that can never be fulfilled because he/she are the undead.
Ah Vampires......my people are a different race seperate from Nils (humans). Enough said.....
The only vampires I care for are those of myth and legend. The more fictional, the better. Growing up, I always loved the stories, the movies, and the myths about vampires. I loved all the ways they were portrayed throughout history, and in different cultures.
In all the stories they were always different, but they still had a few things in common. They were undead, they were powerful, and they had one purpose: to hunt and devour their prey. Some were romantic, some were terrifying, and some were downright disgusting, but they have always fascinated me.
To me, that is what a vampire is, and always will be. Fictional, but fascinating.
I love the Hollywood vampire … to hunt for my eternal love and foil the stupid vampire hunters and be killed due to short budget of film and lack of imagination from director
My idear of a vampire -- is something made of pure evil , with no remorse . There's alot more to it then blood .
my idea of a vampire is the different types that there are suppose to be psi, blood or otherwise.
my version of a vampire comes from bram stoker, Vlad in Dracula. He turned to drinking the blood when someone told him that his wife died. So i guess my version is a vampire who used to love and turns when people tells lies about their love and goes absolutely insane, lol.
I'm reading a book called Vampires: The Occult Truth right now and it reflects a lot of views on vampirism, from folkloric vampires to modern vampires and how they differ.
I believe in intentional energy feeders, psi vampires, succubi, incubi, etc.
Unintentional energy feeders take others energy unconsciously to ward off impending illness.
I believe in sang vampires, which take blood for sustenance.
The dictionary definition for vampirism is "an unscrupulous exploitation, ruin, or degradation of others."
Well said Lavisbre.....
For me a vampire is an immortal creature who can go out at night and day,and who can see and touch crosses....(without burning or screaming in agony)
Imagine eternal life....To gain knowledge,go visit all the countries and absorb their culture and arts...Aahh!!!And yes bite hot girls and walk around here and there with them.....
The aftermath of such walks will not be discussed here as the forum is supposed to contain only PG-13....
*Winks*
This is just my idea, but my vision of a vampire is a person whom feels the "need" to "feed" off the energy of another person; whether it be by blood, or psi, or sex. It all comes from another person.
my version or what I am is a hybrid. I can survive on blood or energy and of course with neither. But I feel so much more energized with one of the two in my diet..so to speak.
And yes, the sunlight bothers my eyes, i am more awake at night.I don't wear a cape and fangs, but I prefer darker colours.I am empathic, and i believe most of our kind are to some extent.
my idea of a vampire is a creature or person who survives on blood and can live forever.
I believe vampires are people with abnormal abilities who tend to be facinated with actually not so abnormal things such as blood.
"normal" people find it wierd that others like blood, drink blood, or can even stand to touch or look at blood, but blood is a natural thing that even those "normal" people have
