It is commonly believed that Vampires are stronger, faster, and stealthier than most men.
My question is -- Why is that so? What exactly would make a Vampire stronger than a man?
well there are different possibilities.
1.They are already dead thus wont tire, a normal human tires
2. other then hiding from the sun a vampire really does not need rest. However when day is up how boring is it to sit in a darkened light protected room with no one to converse with lol
3. vampires only need blood to sustain themselves pending on the myth you go with. Humans need water for hydration, food for nutrients and protein. along with proper hygiene so not to get sick.Vampires being of the dead variety most likely other then a wooden shaft in their heart or some other random myth of the way to kill a vampire not much will sicken a vampire.
Vampirika, can you perhaps give us a few more details? *wink, wink*
Details on what? The power and agility of vampires? I do not know this..but I have heard many rumors that vampires are stronger than men.
by stronger I would say since a vampire of the undead variety does not tire out they are not stronger or faster. It is the human who gets weaker and slower through exhaustion.
If you go with vampire of the living kind.
I do not think they are stronger or faster they just have a longer stamina and have the ability to control their adrenaline, in preparing for something. So not to tire as easily.
Fictional Vampires - To make them seem more sexy, tougher, immortal.
"Real Life Vampires" - Same as "normal" men.
RazaelRiezen says it all in the first post, vampires need blood to survive, humans need water, oxygen, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, protiens etc.
then some myths about vampires say that as long as they keep to the night and feed regulary they are immortal thus stronger then the ageing and decaying human.
humans are only at there peak of life for 3-5 years, then its a decline, but vampires are forever at there peak...OMG MY HEALTH CLASS IS USEFULL
Its not so much vampires are at their peak, due to they are not. If a vampire misses a feeding they will start the natural cycle dead things usually go through, Decay rigormortis etc...Where humans from birth have a declining
and thus will always decay in their bodies. With Vampires as far as known can not contract most illnesses, as a human could this concludes one reason a vampire is stronger then a mortal being a mortal during a time of sickness is at one of their weakest points.
Fictional vampires can do many things. While people who claim to be or believe themselves to be vampire's are human.
That said people can be trained to do many things included being stealthy, vicious any number of traits shared by fictional characters for the entertainment of the masses.
The appeal that grows like a disease... making the vampire stronger and ever expanding lore...
I think that vampires are stronger for multiple different reasons . They live forever number one . They don't need food . The steath , charm , and overall charisma makes them tougher than humans.
we are stronger then humans becouse our spirits are awakend thus when we feed we pick up others strenths
i am not really sure what makes vampires stronger than humans, might be because they are dead and have hardly no weaknesses,or might be something more,i dunno
i would hav to say that the blood would make them stronger the sun just makes us weaker
the fact that they're dead...hard to kill something that's already dead..
oh yeah..and fictional. Gotta add that in:P
the fact that common sense is not used by the society of the mundane.
I believe that the vampires genetical constitution makes a vampire stronger in many ways + the constant consumption of blood, wich is constantly evolving the vampires ever expanding potential.
Vampires dont get tired like living humans. Also, the get their energy source from alternate means. Their body can absorb the energy from blood better than ours. Once dead, muscles tigten up. Which explains their agility.
hollywood makes them stronger for the affect of the movie
Why is it that people believe this? It is believed in African tribes that drinking the blood of a freshly butchered cow gives them stanima and strength, does Human blood do the same? I believe it does...
However, Humans can obtain such strengths and stealth through training and persistance, A human can become stronger and faster....
Some African tribes drink blood mixed with urine.
I think you have to consider the source of some of these things.
wow so many has stated the same thing over and over again in this topic,
maybe what makes a vampire stronger is they ate their Wheaties. hehe breakfast of champions.
Nah seriously. This is an awesome topic in my opinion the main issue though is honestly since vampire is not a scientifically believed species.Or disorder of any form there is no true way to determine other then those who think they are vampire, know they are vampire, do not believe, or simply believes opinions of what makes a vampire stronger.
I beleive that it is a sterotype made by hollywood. Wouldn't it be more entertaining to watch a movie on vampyres who have special powers other then one where they have none?
I've always known it to be that the older a vampire was, the stonger his powers are.
this is a question I ask to all who proclaim hollywood is the result of something, can you find anything that does not predate the holly wood film era.when it comes to myths of vampires? majority of the myths used in film and used the stories are predated to a much earlier time.
Ok I am not sure what would make them stronger maybe they work out now let me ask every one a question does any one truly believe that a person can come back from the dead to live off of humans?
I found the most interesting article that has a great explaination of how vampires are stronger than humans. it's a bit too long to post here but it's a quick read. Article
well, despite all the opinions, the type of vampires that i know are possessed by seven powerful demons... and it is those demons who give them more strength... one of their supernatural powers is to levitate, and they can walk around levitating for a while, but they cannot fly... and no, this is not my opinion, and i never read this in any book... the source? a real vampire...
Good link Polishsiren. Thank you.
Can there be a species of vampires that are weaker than people.
I would say that only fictional vampires are stronger and faster than humans. The reason behind it? Because what author/screenwriter/etc. wants a hero or villain (depending on the vampire's role in the book or movie) that is easily defeated?
I'd have to agree with what TDW said.
Real 'vampires' are no different from normal humans.
Vampirika - interesting read huh? it actually makes sense with the rationalization behind it. IMO
Talking folklore here, I think its the fact that they don't die and are so much harder to kill. Also, most of them are usually portrayed as very old. Who's to say that you don't become weightless at random times and can fly or turn into a bat as soon as you hit 500?
The immortality bit has alot to do with it. Also since they feed on blood, that makes them stronger too. Also those vampyre's with specials talents such as mind reading and what not, that keeps them one step ahead of the mortals as well. Also they are beautiful and humans can be intimidated by that, hence the vampyre comes out on top. I think when someone is turned into a vampyre, they are kind of reborn in a sense its a new being....errr as well as kind of an ending. I don't know, its hard to explain. I mean they aren't really human anymore. Grrr, I can't explain it. It makes sense in my head :/
I would think it has something to do with being immortal. They wouldnt need to worry about breaking bones, breathing etc.
I would have to beg to differ on that Rogue.
Even if you use say a zombie movie break their knee caps or break their shoulders can they use those limbs ?
the answer is no, Why human mechanics.
Break the area in which all motion starts and that limb becomes unusable, Same would be with a vampire. Break its knee cap.
Yes it probably heals faster However it will still take its time. Making a vampire a little more vulnerable.
The fact a vampire either does not tire, Or simply has a much higher stamina base then any average Olympic star.
Would be the primary reason as the normal human exerts more energy to try to defeat the vampire. The vampire simply stays at a constant pace even if the vampire speeds up his energy exerted becomes lesser compared to a normal human.
Thus, using this simple equation for human movement mechanics.
force + action = energy loss
We see where a vampire say they do have a higher or endless stamina it goes into this equation.
Force + rejuvenation= energy retained- action
Its amazing what you can do with special effect these days..lol
The "fictional" ones are stronger because they go through a change..their body dies and thus is born anew a life that is not living nor dead.
Real vampires are not stronger in the sense that you are refering to. Mentally perhaps...but can die as easy as any normal man.
What makes Vampires stronger? Being born at a later date, perhaps. ;)
Vampires are another species which happens to be better in certain ways much like we are better than neanderthals.
They are supposed to be un-dead so they would have a greater physical body
But neanderthals aren't really a different species than us..
mastsomethingoranother-
Everyone has blood. They're nothing like fictional vampires.
All the things we have been told are based on fictional characters therefore vampires take on the abilities that the author chooses to give them.
Taking things into your body that contain energy then your body uses the energy to make you stronger, whether you are a vampire or a human, or any other animal....
