With the new status system, should Cancer raise the level to open a coven to Great Sire. Ive been thinking about it over the last few days because the status system now fluctuates between levels. The only way you could be 100% safe with opening a coven is if your base score is both 100. But some members will use bonuses to get there. But their is no certainty with the bonuses that you will stay Sire when you submit your coven for approval. With Great Sire the member will still be a sire when they submit their coven for approval.

So what are your thoughts on this?

Do you think the level should be raise?

I like this idea, and concur with it's findings, I am in full support of this idea. It would balance things out a bit in my humble opinion.

That would be pretty pointless. People are barely able to get to the regular 'Sire' as it is. And some of those who were Sire under the old system aren't one now.

Unless someone talks a lot of jibberish in the forums and tries to get everyone to add them, its unlikely it'd take any shorter amount of time to reach sire than it used to.

i agree with MBK here. also an regular sire is still an sire no difference. To take away that is stupid if you ask me.

Yes I am ok with raising it to great sire to be a coven master as they are an overkill of covens now but would that mean coven masters who aren't great sires now lose their covens? If thats the case then no, only if the new rules only apply to future coven masters.

Frankly I find this a pointless discussion. If Cancer wanted to change things regarding the Covens he would have. As it is, one of the perks of hitting Sire is the ability to open your own Coven. That goes, once you hit level 100. I don't think it would be fair to raise the requirement to Great Sire. It's hard enough to hit Sire, as MBK pointed out, so if you do make it, you should have that option to start your own Society if you so choose to.

I think the current system works just fine. As said above a sire is a sire

I like the idea of levels for sire, yet like stated above a sire is a sire just more levels to go so that they to do not feel stagnant on reaching a point and nothing more to do.

You realize that even if you did raise it to great sire eventually allot of members are going to make it to great sire and open loads of Covens one day, it will just take more time before it happens. I think raising the level requirement would be rather pointless. Thus I am in full agreement with MBK.

Also I believe there would be an explosion of Coven openings like a bubble getting ready to pop one day.... Some people might lose the determination, but eventually there could be alot of like minded individuals that want the same thing and all work for it.... Eventually there would be many Great Sires and bomb, loads of Covens opening.

Sounds like a good idea, but it would be a moot point.
Your reasoning is that once they get there they won't lose Sire.
With the old system, people could get to Sire and still lose it.
I could see requiring a certain amount of time on here, say 6 months since registering.

I think that it should not matter what level you are.

Level does not insure quality, or even dedication.

There are members with multiple accounts that I am sure would liek a coven AND to stay in their house/coven, and whose second (new PM) account could make a fantastic coven master.

Personally I think that all coven masters should mentor under a house as an assistant before being allowed a coven.

I agree with everyone who is voting NAY! Albeit the idea is quite noble, it is merely delaying the inevitable. :)

I agree with MBK..cause the ones who has made Sire, is just there and raising that would hurt Us Sires in a way..SO NO, Cancer should leave it the way it is

But more privileges should be granted to higher levels :)

With almost four thousand members that can be inducted still roaming free on this site we have a while to go before there are too many covens.

Seems to me if someone didn't want to keep their Coven this would be the perfect solution for it:

That way the houses just swallow them up and they disappear. Honestly, I think Cancer should approve of it on a lot of the Covens that are around for a year and not doing a lick of good. Sorry, did I say that...out loud.

I as well agree with MBK, I've been here almost a year now and still trying to make Sire, the whole Point in being a Sire. take that away and what would be the point ???

I love the Coven I'm in now and have plans to stay even after I make Sire, and by the time I make Sire Existere will have at least six.

I don't think it should be raised but then I am being bias because I am working hard to reach such status now and hope to run my own coven in time.

I do like the idea (someone else posted) of having House Masters training prospective Coven Masters. Maybe more covens would have greater success. I don't know that it would be possible but, it was a good idea.

It should not be raised, and won't be raised. Cancer has always had it this way... why would he now raise the level necessary?

Cancer thinks things through, I can't think of a single implementation he's brought to fruition here that's been a bad one. If he thought it was a bad choice or lacking, it wouldn't be the way it is.

I don't think it should be raised either and a main part of your logic is flawed anyway. You say that it should be raised because the level can fluctuate and fall below sire. The level can also fluctuate and fall below great sire as well. So changing it would solve nothing. Even under the old system this was true. With the system the way it is it forces a sire to stay active on the site and this is how it should be.

best friends on VR. I don't think that qualifies
me to run a Coven. I have had people say I
should just off of my artwork. How would
that make me a good Sire? I am still learning
Codes. I have no clue how all of you Sires
actually keep multiple pages updated and

I also agree it shouldn't be changed unless
Cancer wants it that way. Don't loose sight of
a rarely mentioned fact here...VR belongs solely
to him. Hence the term "Prince"...We can discuss
it to death, but it looks ungrateful if you rag on
his baby too badly. How would you like for people
to get together regularly to do nothing but
complain about the way you ran your Coven?

Things are fine the way they are and if cancer wanted things changed he would have done it in the status update.

I agree with Emodemon it should stay the same but then the higher levels of Sire should get more abilitires or perks.
