well why cant it be in houston, as of right now we have 3 peeps that are in houston, one in corpus christi, and one in san antonio

I am from Fort Worth, and I tried when I first got here, too damn many loose ends really. I think it is a great idea, maybe get a timeframe. After Oct. Then maybe around the first of the year, indoor / outdoor. Beer and BBQ? Whatever, I will be there!! Hell I will bring a friend!!

i actually live between houston and beaumont, altho if a smaller place isnt a prob, we can meet here.

i was going to suggest taking over a club...or at least a corner of it. lol

there is a club in houston called numbers. they have a night each month that they call "underworld".
we could always synch up for that, or conversly, just meet there on a friday night and meet upstairs.

there are a few other clubs in the area for those interested.

I'm just outside of Houston in Baytown and I know that last year we were trying to get one set up and it all fell apart. I know a few members that are in Houston that I can contact that will probably work with us.

First you have to figure on a place and a date alone with alternates that way you will have people draw to it.

yea that is what i am working on right now, no i like the numbers idea but i would like for ever one to get to know a bit better before we hit up a club. some where we can talk and get to know another one. and i will get a date set as soon as the dude in iraq lets me know. since we are not looking till end of OCT or early NOV we have some time

We tried a get together not long ago and it fell apart at the last minute, sadly.

im easy regarding location, so im going to abstain from voting. dallas does have the church and if you havent been there, you are in for a treat.

the question for me becomes do we want to meet at someones home or at a club?

if its at someones home, it could be in a small town (or even better) out in the country. we could be loud, blast our music, and enjoy our drinks as well as each others company without the presence of outsiders.

defeats the purpose of even doing a

you won't know all of whom came
for the "VR members" meet-up, which

And who says it can't be done in the

a park or something, hell I dunno, if

I saw something about Texas, so I had to come over and see the thread. I was born in Dallas. WOOT. So, when the thread was titled,"Calling all Texas", I couldn't resist coming in to comment. My dad is still there, so I still have strong ties to Texas.

As far as I am concerned, it really dont matter where. The idea is really for like minded people to get together and hang out. BBQ is good, whether vegetarian, I make a mean BBQ vegetable medley.

Club is kool too, cuz I am sure we would not be there to actually do the club thing.

But. . .

I would like to suggest a festival type thing. Maybe if any knows a band or two. Tents, bbq pits, all that. Maybe by the lake even?

Where i live we have a river we can tube at and have a big bbq.

I belive the best corse of action is to have a BBQ get together, and we can have alternate things for the veggie heads, and then who ever wants to go the the club after can, we have on person offering her place in san antoino and if we want it in houston we need ideas on were to have it so speak up people

She is in Seguin, wherever the hell that is..But sounds okay to me , even though I would have a nice drive ahead of me..

I think having it at someones house of finding a place like a park is a good idea cause not everyone is into the "club scene" some are to young to go and some just don't like clubs I for one don't really care for clubs cause their loud and you really can't talk without screaming lol and I say have it during the day time in the sun no one here will burst into flames or burn up we'll just sweat our asses off and get a tan lol

I live in OKC but I can travel down to DFW area it is only about a 4 or 5 hour ride and I have a very good friend there...'Have bike will travel'...let me know when and where...the BBQ idea sounds like fun...
