used to have this vision, which I thought would be so kool.Of myself growing old ,my hair pure white.
"You mean the old lady with the wrinkled tanned face and long white hair?"
They might ask.
"Yes.Thats who I mean."
She stands on moonlit shores, antique turquoise and her faded denim shirt...added shades of blue ,blend with Azure coast.
sigh~
Hair, you are a big part of my signurature..a small part of my identity.
I have always had you.At one point you being down to my knees. No one ever had to see my face,to know it was me.and thats how people described me."the girl with the long .blonde hair.
It opend the door for conversations.
You hid my eyes from the crowd ,and kept me safe from my stagefright, which allowed me to do one of the thngs I loved to do most.Traveling the world, playing bass.
You even left my calling card! LOL for people to find after I had long gone.
You earnd me nicks ,such as Goldylocks,Blondie and even Rapunzel.
I was even able to share you, several times cutting you and giving you to locks of love.I was going to share you with my own mother, who sadly ,lost her life to cancer, before I could.
But now ,as I am reaching that age,I wonder...no,it isnt white yet,but it will be soon enough.
I woke up this morning and you were all a mess. And as I looked in the mirror ,I contemplated cutting you.
I cant help but feel I might loose part of myself,a part that seemed to have a life of its own...so Im not so sure I would have the nerve.Am I really thinking of parting with you old friend?
Should I or shouldnt I?
That is the question.
is it that only those who have just been sheared call other people sheep?

I say most Sheep are not to Baa aad.. :)
Haha, easy for you to say,Dan.Considering you are a wolf!!
interesting.
Blind you are, who jump to conclusions, as sheep to the shepherd.
I couldnt agree more Ana.
I watched a movie the other night that kinda ended up really giving me the creeps once I started to imagine what it would be like to loose all of our senses one by one.Not just a few of us,but the whole panet.
Its called Perfect Sense, and while the cinematography was a bit on the cheesy end,the storyline is scary as hell ,actually.

O.o that would be catastrophic omg....
i may have to have a look into this one
Was this movie on losing eyesight at all? If it is it is a good movie. And it would test how well people could rely on themselves rather than devices.
Yes,actually,it sure did. They lost their sight at the end of the movie.

I'll say this, if you do part ways with Her, share her again with those who may need her strength, her love, and her confidence one last time.
Perhaps a child who struggles with an illness who can not grow it on their own. A gift like that can produce a magnificent form of self confidence and a gift that will last a long, long time.

I say you should go for it! It is a signature of your physical being and like you said, how people would remember you. But you as a whole person are wonderful and caring and that will not change if you do choose to cut your hair and people who know you will most certainly not forget that!

When I first started reading this, I had a feeling that you were considering cutting off your hair.
That could be a hard decision to make, as many see your identity via your long golden locks. So - do what you feel is right for you. Even if the locks are shorn, you'd still be the same wonderful lady you've always been.
(For the record, I prefer you with long hair, just as I prefer me with short hair - lol).

Nooooooo! Don't do it until you really, really have to and it starts looking like white hair old lady. You are way off that stage yet!
