April showers which turned into monsoon type rain woke me up this morning.
Phil had to ditch the car-boot sale and I have postponed walkies, Bonzo does'nt do rain and nor do I.
Still, ironing is done, shoes are polished and the sun looks like it may come out soon.
Ohhh *ebil chortle*....I am alone out here in the oven, Mad-dog and Borg Princess have taken everybody into the tea room to give them a bit of bad news.
Borg Princess has told the nurses they have not made her or her staff welcome at all ....well good for her, she tells it like it is.
All change for Monday and theatre three, they will be coming to us....big shock, our nurses noses have been put out of joint big time, I am trying not to laugh :)
Journal dear, ready yourself for a good ole moan fest.
I'm grumpy.
Still not bad considering I've been working on my own for six days in an office hotter than the devils nut bag ( stole that expression from someones journal ).
When I took my shoes off this afternoon my feet were black from the dye, even my underwear was wet. I'm angry with Pat for putting up with it for this long and not speaking up.
Nurse Jan ( ohhh she's a piece of work ) made sure I was just about to go home to tell me Mad-dog was coming to talk about what she (Jan) wants changing.
Does'nt want me or Pat to prep notes ( hey not our idea ) flat out refuses to file or use the computer ( Mad-dogs nurses do ) but she wants someone ( hmmm me ? ) to help by putting stickers on the sheets of paper ! Wow, think I can be trusted to do that ?
So basically if she gets her way, it will be one more job for yours truely without anything being taken away from me and theatre three opening up next Monday.
I did well not to tell her where she can stick her stickers.
Still, lets not jump the gun here, maybe Mad-dog will prevail.
Phil was a pain when I told him not to come round tonight as I was tired, once again he forgets he has all day to do as much or as little as he pleases.
Finally, Andrew my friend who has BP. He got his knickers in a twist a couple of months ago because I did'nt answer his e-mail quickly enough, said he was'nt going to write any more.
Just checked my e-mail, he wrote three days ago, says he misses hearing from me, and now he'll think I'm ignoring him.
Did I say finally ? I meant almost finally, just got online and a message to say my Norton is coming to an end.
I now blow a huge rasberry at the lot of em, and feel better :)
COMMENTS
I was about to say just relax and put your feet up .... maybe not!!
You said.. moan fest.
This is so not what I had in mind...
...*disappointed*
I wish I could come round, make you a nice meal and cool you off! Keep your pecker up....I've always wanted to tell someone that! :P And P.S...try AVG Anti-Virus, it's free and works great! There is a link somewhere on the VR manual.
No, your sarcasim is not lost on me, it's fine if you don't like me, just don't try to be a smart **** about it :)
COMMENTS
Someone doesn't like you, is that really possible? I find you to be one of the most likeable characters around this place.
*Looks up*, and I did'nt even have to pay her to say that :)
FYI > Mr Sheen multi surface polish does just what it says on the tin, smells nice too.
Two working days down, ten more to go before a long public bank holiday week-end and the return of my side kick Pat.
Nurse Jan ( oh so friendly now ) has changed her mind...again. She was going to trial the changes that Mad-dog is bringing in, this morning she said to me: "we're going to talk to Mad-dog mob handed".
Oh yea ? I told her good luck with that. Happily I'm not as stupid as some believe me to be (well not all the time anyway).
She begins to nauseate me.
Still, Nurses V Mad-dog should be interesting.
Due to aircraft still being grounded Pats holiday to Malta looks a bit dodgy, she blames me of course, she thinks I "predicted" last years epic fail of a holiday and because I said something (damned if I can remember what it was) about Malta ....well I'm in the firing line again :)
Good job I'm thick skined I guess.
Nurse Jan ( she of the fleeing hormones and now snide power tripper ) said to me this afternoon : "We all have to stick together"
Oh really ? I think not. She has of late burnt her bridges where Pat and I are concerned.
The changes Mad-dog wants to bring in means that she and her side-kick nurse H are being asked to do a task traditionally done by admin (yours truely) not at all what they (or I ) expected.
Likewise I will be asked to do other jobs.
However it's very simple. The boss is just that, our contracts state that we can be moved to different locations within departments and be asked to take on any task within our ability.
Get used to it, it's called life, he who pays the piper calls the tune etc.
As long as I'm shown what to do, and when I need to do it, it's cool with me.
Talking of cool, our workplace is just the opposite, it's so hot that we have called the heating people several times, I am only staying upright by proping open fire doors etc.
Ahhh what a wonderful start to the day. Got to work to find that the key that opens all the doors (except coffee lounge) is not where it's meant to be.
This could have been tricky as patients would litterally be left in the dark, but it's audit this morning so just me, Pat and a couple of other mugs in.
So, phone calls were made, me and Pat drank tea and put the world to rights....then damn it we found the key quite by accident.
When we opened Pat's office door there was a note from Mad-dog to say she had been showing a team of medics round last night and unsure as to where the key was kept she put it ontop of a filing cabinet. Best laugh I've had in ages.
COMMENTS
Oh bad bad to find that key :( But I have to wonder why didn't "Mad-dog" just put the key right back where she took it from? Never mind I think I see. lol
Heh, sounds like fun :) Don't forget the tea for the Auditor.. best to keep them happy! :p
Sounds like the place I keep the key to my heart!!
Oh joy, found out that Veronica ( borg princess ) is coming over to "help" me while Pat is away.
Now usually this would'nt bother me, she just makes me laugh ( without knowing ) but to have her faffing about when I'm really busy is going to drive me nuts.
Now I got the misseries....maybe I should look at it as a character building exercise :)
Boss and Mad-dog are in a meeting.
The result of this meeting is going to impact on all of us here as Mad-dog is "explaining" how theatre three is going to open and be fully staffed in a couple of weeks time.
Meanwhile the lift at the discharge end of the unit has broken down, interesting, this is the only life that can be used to ferry patients when the above mentioned theatre opens.
Pat is off on leave for just over two weeks, so I'm practising my drama pose...*back of hand to head*, seriously, I will be doing that alot, but never mind journal you have'nt had any angry stuff thrown at you for ages...you will cope.
Oh my days, I just hit Sire.

Congrats!
Awesome :)
Congrats my dear friend.
You missed out the word 'AGAIN!!! lol
congrats
yay!! Congratulations :)
Hahaha yaay,way to go girl!!!!
Congratulations. :)
CONGRATS sweetie!
Thanks guys.
Yahoooooo!!! Congrats
*adds to the general excitement and happiness*
So what you waiting for? Come visit me in my House!!
you go girl."go sinora.its ur birfday.not for real real.just for play play.";)u rock!
Tis done, the add is placed, how exciting, still I must go and clean the toilet now ( see even with this new found fame I do not lose touch with reality )
I just had an idea > ( yea fanfare ) I think I'm going to open a mentorship.
I will call it : THE NO FRILLS MENTORSHIP.
No graphics ( coz I can't do em )
Instead I'll just focus on the fact that members can just contemplate the beauty of not doing much while enjoying the fact that their level goes up.
I will allow a little smut and maybe *looks shifty* an outlet for .....drama.
Brilliant or what ?
Phil has gone off to do a car boot sale this morning.
He wanted me to go along in case he needed the toilet ( no, not for my sparkling personality, selling ability or general good looks, the chuffing toilet )
He forgets sometimes that my weekends are the only time I get for myself really, and yesterday we were together for some hours, it's not good to be tied at the hip, I get grumpy when he keeps doing those irritating things (too many to mention) so I told him he would have to do what all stall holders do, ask the guy next door to cover for him, problem solved.
Mary was coming round later but I think I'm getting Pat's head cold, and we are due to visit Jean next Saturday so we'll leave it till then.
Just had a fight with a cardboard box, I won but it was almost a draw.
Took a quick look at what laughingly passes for my wardrobe, discovered I am not short of black skirts. If a slew of people up and die on me, I'll be ready for em.
COMMENTS
Poor you.. I know what it is like to want to have some time all to yourself and not getting it. Glad the box didn't get it's way!
One of the most enjoyable aspects of being on VR as far as I'm concerned is that from time to time people will offer help with something or other.
Random acts of kindness move me...thank you.
COMMENTS
'Random' can be scary too!!!
True, but always interesting :)
Yes, it is great when it happens, friends are friends.
i believe u were the first to comment on my journal.THAT was a random act of kindness.ive been regifting ever since;)
A happy smiley kind of day.
Got a package yesterday from my catalogue which can only be the big knickers and skirts etc wow they got here quickly.
Talking of big knickers and though I have'nt looked yet, I'll save that excitement for when I get home from work, I have woken up with the urge to lose some weight.
With that in mind I have opened a new section of journal to moan and whinge about how things are going.
On the work front Pat has been kind enough to come in with a streaming cold, then after she spread it round she went home sick.
All caked out here.
It's been a good a day as I knew it would be, got a cats chorus of "Happy Birthday" soon as I got into work and just good vibes all round.
Even my dear friend Jean who is notoriously late for everything managed to get a card to me on time.
My thanks to all of you who took the time to send me your good wishes.

Happy Birthday!!! :) Cake?? did you say cake?
*pulls out her empty plate and a fork*
CAKE!!!! wait a minute here...almost forgot....*HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!*
now then...where is the cake?
It's a good job I have some in reserve :)
Happy Birthday to me : )
I hope I never lose the excitement of a birthday, it's been with me since I was a child, never went away, not even in the hard times.
Ray bless him wants us to go to KFC...yea we know how to party ! However I don't eat their chicken any more as I don't like the whole battery hen farming thing, found that out on this site some time ago...thanks for that VR *grins*.
I may make an exception this time or I could go for the fish.
Anyway today is going to be a good day and good days are to be cherished.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Happy Birthday to my favorite Sin lol
Happy Birthday! Love you Sinora!!!!
It's funny.. I had a dream about KFC just a few minutes ago... LOL Happy Birthday honey!
Happy Birthday ! :-)
Happy HAPPY Birthday!! I hope it is a good one and the coming year......even BETTER!!
Aww thanks guys *hugs*.
Hmmm, sneaky but smart.
Phil just fetched up with not one but two cakes for me to bring into work tomorrow.
With the most innocent expression on his face he explained that he was'nt sure which one I would prefer.
Then as an afterthught mentioned that if there was too much cake I could save some for him and Ray.
Guess he's been hanging around me too long :).
COMMENTS
I'm saying one of them had better been chocolate or... lol Happy Bday sugar
Smart man that Phil :)
Ahh back home and back at work.
Ray did a splendid job on the Sunday lunch.
Mad-dog has'nt quite got it re the phone situation, the nurses wanted a mobile so she got one and put it on my desk...and then took my phone.
As it's my birthday tomorrow I asked Phil to go shopping for a cake that I can bring into work.
Knowing him as I do I also gave him very clear instructions as to size etc.....if I end up with a Winnie the Pooh one ( apparantly on special offer ) .......
I feel great empathy with the people of 1940's Brittain, they had to queue for everything and today I got to stand and wait in three long queues.
"They" lie when they say it's only busy in banks etc at the end of the month, the time when I usually visit these places.
There is also a law preventing me from buying two pks of paracetamol and two pks of allergy tablets in a supermarket. I knew about the first but the 2nd ? I never heard of anybody killing themselves with allergy pills.
Still I'm home now, relaxing for an hour or two before I go to Phils.
I'm never going to hit Sire on here, my level keeps going up and down as usually I can only spend about 45 mins a day, then I'll miss a day or two at Phils.
Talking of missing, Theban has been quiet of late, I hope he's okay.
COMMENTS
You're just a stone's throw from Sire :)
Many allergy medications also contain ingredients that can be used to make meth, but you need a lot of it. Hence the limits.
Just saying.
And think about it: If you're here, turning pages and spending time, there is no way you can't make sire.
Unless you're a jerk and everyone blocks you and you don't get on any friends lists. But you certainly don't fall into that category, so be patient. :)
Don't give up on being a Sire hun ... calling you a wench sounds cool :-p
Meth ? *thinks*.
I was quite pleased to see the rain at lunchtime as one small job led to another and Bonzo looked too tired to go out today.
Big knickers and skirts for work have been the order of the day, I hate shopping but it's easier online.
Phil has asked me to stay at his place tomorrow so I'll be packing me little case again, Ray is cooking a Turkey Crown for lunch on Sunday, yep, it's a win win situation all round.
I will be taking the plunge and sending a letter to my friend in the USA tomorrow, but not with ParcelForce, nope, I'm sticking to GPO registered mail, fingers crossed.
They do say that timing is everything. Bonzo (my imaginary dog) and I just made it home as the first drops of rain came down, April showers.
Spring is my favourite time of year. Old father Willow looks much younger than his years and the blossom is, well blossoming lol.
Bonzo's legs are on the short side, so we don't go fast or far.
One front garden we passed on our way is obviously owned by someone who leans towards ocd. Tarmac, but with numerous tubs and containers of flowers and shrubs, all in straight lines, I toyed with the idea of pushing one pot ever so slightly out of line but decided against it.
The cake ( lemon bakewell tart ) was just yummy and there is a film with called " Arthurs Hallowed Ground" starting just now, with a tittle like that I think it may be worth watching.
COMMENTS
I hope Bonzo didn't pee in the garden because he would leave a puddle!
Certainly not, Bonzo is a well brought up dog !
So, bed changed, bathroom cleaned, front room dusted and hoovered and it's not even lunchtime yet.
Thought I'd get some much needed housework in while waiting for the guy to come and service my heating.
Now I'm knackered so I'll rest for a bit then get out for a little walk before the rain starts.
My cake will taste all the better when I'm feeling so virtuous.

I could've told you it was going to rain, and it will rain tomorrow as I have that day off too.
