Wonder when the ice bucket challenges going to hit VR? hahaha... that would be fun.
I see the game of time against the movie ad is on yet again when I sign into the site.
You bet me this time, but that is because I am sleepy, and it is Friday.
Still...
Well played movie ad, well played.
It happens slow, just a few things here and there. But I have to say I don't mind.
This year it was a velvet pumpkin, in a wonderful orange color.
Then it was me pulling out a candle that scent is of a good cigar and other wonderful things. Archipelago Havana Candle- one of my two favorites from the store. That and Luna. Love that scent too.
I am looking forward to making a good stew, on the first cool day. With some fresh made bread from the bread machine.
Fall slowly creeps into my home, with the little touches here and there.
And I don't mind at all.
:)
Anyone else seeing the similarities between The Walking Dead and The Last Ship?
Death, disease, small group of people trying to make it, no goverment, war lords and evil people doing horrible things as life as we know it is broken down to the strongest making it out alive?
Might just be me but you think they took Walking Dead story line and started it on a ship. Now that they have hit 'land' it really is turning that way for me.

The difference...I have heard of 'The Walking Dead'.
I suspected as much from the few previews I saw of that show. Lazy ass writters in to riding a phenomenal series coat tails. I am also not bothering with Left Behind.
Taking a small break before hitting the shower. Company is coming over for a movies and dinner. Birdy, Cat and one other lady that we meet in a Sci- fi Star Trek fan club. She has reached that magical day of not having to work, getting her check and enjoying her life.
She closed her business doors, and tonight we will watch the latest Star Trek movies, eat chips with fresh salsa, Cat's pasta sauce with garlic bread. And peanut butter pie, chocolate pie that I made this morning.
House work is done - had that last minute little hick-up of the full trash bag leaking on the rug, so it is in the washer as we speak. Hope to have it in back on the floor before the company comes in a little over a hour from now.
Speaking of- Cat is here to start her sauce, so off I go to the shower.
:)
It is going to be a good day. Good friends, good food. What more could anyone want on a weekend.

That sounds like it was an absolute delight.
It was a wonderful day, great company, good food, awesome desserts and a couple of good movies... sci fi of course! Thanks for having us all there sugar.
*sings* And another one bites the dust, yeah. Another one bites the dust... and another one gone, another one gone, another one bites the dust... Hey- you will have to make a new profile..... but right now... Another one bites the dust...
Yesterday afternoon was doing the family shopping. You know- bread store/ meds/ food/ dollar store/ etc. So at the local grocery store I stood in line and was looking at the line in front of me, also full. A older man was there, 70's I would say. He had on a nice dress shirt, jeans, clean as a button. He wore a hat, which kind of caught my eye more then anything. I like men in hats, its a thing with me.
He checked out, only had two bags, and slowly moved away as the next person moved up. A woman in dirty clothing with a kid that would not sit still. I notice the kid picked something up off the counter, looked up at his Mom who was talking to the check out lady. You just knew he was up to something, that look kids get.. mind you he was at least 10 years old, not a 'kid' really.
By then the lady in front of me was done so I pushed the empty cart up as the check out lady started on my own order. She hadn't even done the normal "Hey, how are you?" line when the older man was back. He stood, looking at me, around me. I asked him if he needed help and he said he was thinking he left his wallet on the check out, might of drop it.
I moved out of his way but told him "I am sure you was in the next check out, Sir. And I am SURE I saw the child pick up something off the check out's top." The woman looked at me, then down at her son. "Did you find something?" "Yeah, it was on the floor, I just picked it up." Which was a lie.
The old man moved slowly over to the kid and pat him on the shoulder, telling him how nice it was to have a honest child. His mother was glaring at him, kind of got the clue the child was going to get a beating for trying to hide the wallet.
I am just glad the older man got his wallet back, and that his hat caught my attention. Little things in life show me so much as I get older myself.
Like how his hat made me notice him, watch that line in front of me as I waited. How the older man left with hope for the world, the honest child he praised. The Mother who has to deal with a child who tried to hide a wrong, and a child whom I hope learned a lesson and will not do something like that again.
All from just a hat.

I hope his Mom explains about honesty and doing the right thing really hard on his ass!
We are the sum of our action or inaction to seemingly random occurances and encounters. Very perceptive of you, and well verses nonconfrontation reaction. Bravo. The same tact you used there makes the case for being a trusted fair admin here.
Thinking today might be a good day to spend catch up. Got my desk stighten out, bills paid, and paperwork almost caught up.
Seems one or two days out of the office, coming in throwing things on the desk, emails, To DO list from family pills up really fast these days.
So much to do, so little time this week.
Well it is fucking great start to the day when the rental truck you rented, loaded full, will not start this morning.
Grrrrrr....
There goes anyway to get this unloading done today. Guess it will end up being even longer three days then planned as I sit for a hour and a half waiting for the service guy. I sent the other truck on at 7:30, half a hour later then plan as we tried to boost the truck off....
So I sit- dead truck with a load on it. And waste time.
Mother..*cuss words*
I am a happy gal- yesterday I saw Fall/ Halloween decorations out in the store. :D
Not long now.....
Darker days, cold nights, the fall colors, crisp air in the morning, frost on the grass...
Soups, pumpkins, candied apples, hot drinks.
:)
What is not to like?

I'm right there with you. Raven and I were like kids in a candy store when we saw all the Halloween decorations on the shelves!
It is what comes AFTER fall that is the bad part.....lol
Shake that snow voodoo doll ;P
I am right there with you! I can't wait for the colors to change I even bought and started burning a big ginger pumpkin candle just to get the right smell going. lol Don't tell but I've started hiding X-mas presents too.
Yeap, I put my old avatar back up that I used for years here. Ever get to the place that you just don't like seeing your own face? :)
Today is the first day back at school for the kids here. Worked late so missed out on the 'buzz' last night I am sure this day brings at Cat's last night.
Shame- it would go from "I DON"T WANT TO GO!" with little man to "I CAN'T WAIT!!" with the young lady who starts her last year in high school.
They are so alike in most way- but for this.
Either way I am sure their Mother and Aunt Cat will enjoy the day without them.
lol
They are to kind to say it- but I will.
The mean Aunt can do that, you see.
;)

I wouldn't do it. I would end up with a heart attack or a bad asthma attack.
