This is going to be a busy weekend. So much to do - so much catch-up to catch-up on. So many new tasks already thrown into the mix.
I'm glad Morri bought some scotch... thank you love.
yeah, you know it would have been nice to have this evening free to let loose and have fun..
Unfortunately we'll be hanging out with a squawking garden gnome instead.
We'll still cut loose. Maybe just at home tonight though, after the work is through.
Looking forward to it! :)
Got out some resumes.
Now I feel productive...
There is always a bit of a tug-of-war in life. Something I always tell my kids when they protest over the simplest, silliest, and most basic things: Pick your battles wisely.
You only get so many to fight. Don't fight the wrong ones.
But learning the right ones from the wrong ones is something we all need to do. It is a basic we have to teach our children. Some parents try to teach it. Others, like my parents... don't. So we end up learning as we go as adults. When to stand our ground, when to give way, and when to take the tougher and more complex route of diplomacy to do neither take a stand or give way.
Diplomacy is a learned skill I believe, but it takes time. A lot of time. Lots and lots of time to learn.
Some master it, some never do. Look around you and I think it would be easy to see who knows it and who doesn't.
Look inside you and it is a lot tougher to see... are you a diplomat, or are you always fighting a battle? Or, are you always giving up the fight?
I'm still learning... when I look inside I know in my heart I'm still learning.
I'm sure I have a long, long way to go, too.
Thank you for your patience with my flaws.
I bought groceries and made a nice dinner for us
I spent my day working on my terms, the way I want to and successfully helped fix problems for three businesses which will help them work more efficiently
I am still walking today. Breathing is a good thing.
Oh, but the camera seems ok. The lens has a little hitch in it's zoom function - could be the result of pinning it between me and muddy, snowy ground... or banging it off of a tree... or tree roots... or rocks...
...but it seems ok.
I'll have to look for a good Sigma 17-70MM macro for it....
Dinner was amazing. But now I fear I have stopped moving far too long to ever get my ass off of this couch... ever again.
Morri and I just returned from a 3 hour hike, traversing icy trails, icy creek beds and muddy, snow covered ravine walls.
Everything hurts... I am exhausted. It was so difficult climbing while sliding on almost every step.
But it was so worth it. We had fun... we're ready for a nice hearty dinner that we will cook together. And if my camera survived it all, I think I may have taken some epic photos.
Stay tuned to my blog...
I did laundry today, and I was excited to do it.
I know that sounds pretty lame, but we haven't had a washing machine in all the time we've lived here. A model Morri and I have worked with quite a bit posted on Facebook that she was ditching her old washer and upgrading, so she gave us her old one.
And two days worth of plumbing later, it works.
Such a relief to be able to do laundry when there is a gap of time to get it done, rather than trying to schedule out a trip somewhere to do it.
That IS damned awesome. I am glad for you both. :)
It IS freaking awesome. Thank you for working so hard on the plumbing. Only critique: I didn't see your buttcrack once. Please make the appropriate adjustments for next time.
Sorry Morri. I will buy some jeans that are 8-inches too wide in the waist yet 8-inches too short on the inseam, just for when I'm crawling under the sink....
...now, where does Homer Simpson shop for clothes?
This is going to sound really bitter and hateful, but:
Its people that that that are born with children that are absolutely perfect in their health. They'll never need anything other than a normal health check and never have to suffer through the pain of surgeries.
I'm glad the kids are okay. They will probably have some mental trauma from this...(poor things), but it just ticks me off how parents take advantage of the well being of their children. They're selfish.
Okay, done. /end rant
Can't we just ship them all to an island somewhere and forget about them?
There are so many parents who put their hearts and souls into caring for their children, regardless of what obstacles are put in their way because they are responsible and truly balanced as human parents.
Protect your young. Help them grow. Keep them healthy and happy.
It is basic human instinct. People like this woman are sick in the head. I do agree with you Birra. Children have a right to live free from parents like this. The fact that she has repeatedly proven that she is unfit to be a mother and yet is still allowed to have children and send them out into the world with nothing but our shaky at best child care solutions is ridiculous.
1. Morri being nice and waking me ever so gently when my head cold causes me to snore
2. Sunshine in the middle of winter
3. My camera and my ability to use it
I appreciate all of that sheeeat. Yo.
...it takes teams to win team sports. Special individuals can elevate a team, but the better team will almost always come out on top.
This game featured all sorts of match-ups that favored the Giants. All the Patriots had going for them was Brady and their short-passing game. You can defuse a short passing game by keeping your pass rushers in the middle and in the QB's face, play cover-2 and stay tight at the line on the receivers.
Especially with a front-4 like the Giants have - which the Patriots can't counter.
So that leaves it down to who has the better QB. And that is a wash. Evenly matched.
And with Gronkowski hobbled, Manning had more weapons - and more big play weapons.
Al true, but the Giants had a huge lead in possession time. Giants: 37:05 Pats: 22:55 I think this was pivotal too.
That happens when one defense can't control the other team's offense. The Giants did more to thwart their own chances on most of their drives than the Patriots did to stop them. Seemed like when the Giants needed yards, they got them.
the superbowl was a bust my pats lost...onto the real deal BASEBALL! yeeeah! :)
go Pats!!! :)
Let's see. Pretty boy 1 or pretty boy 2...gah. Agreed, not overly hopeful, but leaning more to Giants. Pats are bottom of the list even in the regular season along side of the Cowboys and Raiders.
Go giants. Or I am out a dollar. (I rolled percentile dice and the Giants came in slightly higher in the random roll, by 4%.)
Who is pretty boy #2? Manning? He looks retarded half the time, the other half the time he looks like he's about to crap himself - yet he still makes plays.
Since the Niners didn't make it, I could care less about the game now.
Sending Californian earthquake vibes for you!
...stepping up to the plate for Joli.
Unfortunately, my list of things I'm grateful for is the same every day...
1. My friends and family
2. My children and their good health
...it's a 3-way tie.
Nope, it's curved.
Or so said the blind cat who tried to eat it.
(Its tail, I mean.)
Heavenly crooked? :P
straight to the left? o.0
Second star to the right, and straight on till morning?
That big booty you got as an avatar is all curves though...
Got my new car. Bounced from one lease to another, so it's not a huge investment upfront and I had to work something out on the previous lease due to the miles over...
...things haven't exactly worked out the way I've wanted in those regards the last 3 years.
But the new car is nice. It has integrated bluetooth with voice command... so now I feel like Bond.
David Bond, of 723 Summerset Lane, Upper in Springfield, MO. It's really just a pretty plain car...
It is not pretty plain. It's awesome and you're pimpin'
OOOH What did you get? Where are the pictures damnit!?
Does it come with that cool passenger ejection seat like Austin Powers? :)
I wish. My kids need that sometimes.
I got a 2012 Passat. It really is just a base model, plain ol' car. Coolest feature is the blue-tooth phone synch with voice activated dialing. I was showing that to the kids this morning and they were practically giddy that the car was talking.
I'm going to call it KIT....
