Quick funny story, Mom. I decided that with our new anniversary sheets (present to ourselves) that Savvy is DETERMINED to roll on, she should have a bath. I got a recipe online for making my own natural flea shampoo. I boiled my fresh rosemary, strained it, and put the now slightly yellow water in the blender. I added drops of lavender and eucalyptus. An ounce and a half of clarifying shampoo…and voila! Meow shampoo. I lifted Savvy over my shoulder and lowered her toward the water.



I called for the hubby. He slowly extracted each claw from my shoulder. We tried again.



Would you believe I saw not one flea?! She got all lathered up…made many a sorrowful meow. I rinsed her off and then straight to the fluffy towel which she loved. She got a handful of mini cat treats (which we never give her). She nom nommed them right up and then walked around the house unsure of what to do next. So traumatized…poor little Post Stress Syndrome kitty.



After the cat waterboarding,the man treated my shoulder with alcohol and triple antibiotic ointment. Holy poo, Batman. It burns! We are both wearing our scars and eyeballing the other with some suspicion.



I believe she has finally forgiven me since she leapt into my lap after she was dry and allowed me to pet her. Her fur is SO soft! She smells edible! Best gentle shampoo ever.

Have had similar results with cat baths. "..P'nut don't like no water, her." So I got clever and bought a cat bathing sack on the Internet. Advertised as an easy way to bathe cats without getting clawed...well you still have to put them into the sack- no easy trick I assure you. It took 3 of us to put her into the sack, then into the water for her lovely bath- then to let her out. All in all, it is a fraction easier than without the sack. Have not done it again...P'nut probably still has 'fond' memories of her sack bath.

Had a few cats- and those same claws holes in my back, shoulder, chest, boobs, belly, arms, hands.



Safe to say the cats end up getting a dry bath, a powder you just brush in, and out of their fur. Not one scratch, and they liked the combing. :) It was a win win.

You... stuff your cat into a sack of water and then shake it?

It's sort of funny... it's kind of funny... I think it still makes me sad a little bit.

Do I have the only cat that yowls if you don't let them in the shower with you? Spook absolutely loves water. lol But the claws do hurt even worse upon removal!
