In pueblo Colorado the US there are cattacombs that cover half of the city which people dont know. The tunnels go from the old Honor farm to the state hospital to pueblo west as well as the nature center. The honor farm was the satanic church and alter where human sacrifices were made... On a tree stump... the stump was supposed to be moved but every cingle peice of equiment they used on it something broke and not the tree. the stump is still there the church is gone but the catacombs remain intact throught pueblo. does any one know of any more catacomb places like this?
I did a quick google search for any information about these specific catacombs, but came up empty. Any historic catacombs would typically predate the church of Satan. More than likely they are the products of Native American hundreds of years ago.
I did find Catacombs located in New Jersey and Arizona. This was an interesting bit of information.
Located at Lafayette & Prospect, the catacombs are beneath the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The church was established in 1927 in what was at the time, a mostly Italian neighborhood. The catacombs were constructed by church members in the late 1950's, many coming after work to labor in the building. Eventually the neighborhood began to change, and now is primarily Portuguese. According to the woman who gave me the brief tour, there are 3 Italian families who attend the church, even though the service is given in Portuguese and (presumably) they don't speak the language.

Ancient Chambers Span Across Beneath Northern Arizona
Saturday, April 27, 1991
ARIZONA DAILY SUN, Flagstaff, Arizona
New Orleans (AP) -- Three young archaelogists came to Northern Arizona and crept through sacred rooms, over rocky precipes and by dangerous rattlesnakes to discover a huge complex of catagombs that could rewrite theories about the Indians of the southwestern United States.
"It's absolutely mind-numbing. We would have never believed it could have existed," John W. Hohman, one of the three archaeologists, said Friday during the meeting of the 2,000 member Society of American Archaeology. "It will change a lot of what we believed about Indians in the Southwest. They may have been far more advanced than we believed."
Hohman admitted to feeling a bit like Indiana Jones, the archaeologists-adventurer from the movies. Armed with a flashlight and a pistol, it was Hohman who rapelled down the steep fissures, frequently dotted with rattlesnakes sunning themselves on rocky outcrops, into the catacombs.
The catacombs his expedition found are the first reported in the United States, officials at the conference said. "It's very exciting to have it announced at this conference. It's one of the few times we can say this is a first. Anytime you have a first in our business, it's exciting," said Dr.James Schoenwetter, professor of anthropology at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. "The idea of a very elaborate form of ceremonial chamber being built underground hundreds of years ago is surprising."
Indians of the southwest United States were not believed to have built underground, Hohman said. For many of the cultures the underground held special connotations, both good and bad, he said. Burials were also done much as they are done now, he said, in graves dug into the earth. The catacombs, which Hohman and colleagues say are about 700 to 800 years old, were discovered at a known prehistoric Indian settlement about two miles west of Springerville.
The Mongollon Indians occupied the site sometime between A.D. 1250 and 1400, Hohman said. "There had been some suspicion that there was something underground there," Adams said, "When we actually entered the catacombs though, it just blew us away."

That is so cool. The only ones I've ever heard of were in Paris. Here is a link http://www.catacombes-de-paris.fr/english.htm
In the "Book of the Hopi" Frank Walters tells the story of these ancient people who live in the New Mexico area. Among his people is the story that they came up out of the earth to emerge into the world. This emergence was into what they believe is the third world after the second world was destroyed. There is mounting evidence that vast areas of the south west part of the US has quite a few of these underground caverns. Could the Hopi be telling the story for hundreds of years without having some actual event in their history to base their beliefs? The story also describes an icy place to the north where other people came into what is now America.
If I were you, I would keyword "underground cities" instead of "catacombs". It may give you a bit broader territory to read from.
That's cool to know think I'll look them up thanks for sharing :)
there are hidden places everywhere. it is that we are just finding them.
have lloked for this yet come up blank, does anyone else have more info, or the site where this may be.
There are things like this in many places, from ancient to more modern times.
This is all that I could find.

That is a very interesting, DemianA. Perhaps every civilization has modern day "end dates" that would initiate the creation of the catacombs.
I imagine it was also handy when it came to food storage and escaping the hot southwest heat during the summers.
Any other ideas as to what these tunnels were used for?
im glad for all your input and that gives me more to research. parts of the catacombs here were for hostage storage, escape routes, shelter, occult activities, sacred ground, and tourture chambers for the state hospital... i have a hacker friend... in the state hospital portion they would practice shock therapy as well as a few other grusome things.
There are threads on the catacombs that are underneath the cities of Rome and Paris - the two famous of them all.
Catacombs is a specific term for tunnels and used for burial and stacking of bones.
You can also search for Hopi Indians in Colorado as well - not hard to narrow down the scope of your search.
As was mentioned the words underground and cities also would help, perhaps more so than catacomb.
its really interesting to see people get into the things i do. Its quite neat. thanks and let me know if you find anything else anywhere
That's something I've not heard of before. It would be interesting to actually go in and explore them.
Honestly being from Colorado I doubt they are labeled catacombs. With the rich Native American history in the area I would have to say possibly a sacred burial ground of some sorts.
I didn't know that Pueblo had Catacombs... and I've lived in Colorado my whole life... I'll have to look into that... Paris, France has Catacombs that were used as a mass grave. There was a thread on that though...lol...
i dont know anything about them but what everyon is saying sound really cool and i want to see this place.
Ok I am not finding any info on this. Are you possitive on your reserch. Please provide a link of some sorts. This is starting to sound more like an urban legend than any real factual content.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Secret-Underground-Cities
In searching "underground cities" as SS (I think) suggested, I found this site that goes into much detail about several catacombs in the states and elsewhere.
In Havre, Montana the tunnels there catacomb underneath the city. There are several secret passageways that were home to everything from saloons to bordellos.
In Portland, Oregon the tunnels there were used often referred to in the late 1800s as "Shanghai Tunnels". These tunnels were used by shanghaiers, bootleggers, white slavers, and opium den owners.
I did some research of my own and I too can't find anything pertaining to "catacombs" being in Pueblo... I agree with GD... please try to provide some sort of info source....

That is really neat. I would like to find something on this. That article is from 1991! I am wondering if they have tours in there now, with a removal of the snakes. Egads!
They are now on government property and very hard to break into but doable... they used to be for the black mass which i attended... very interesting... they are a bit of a secret now because the government figures that in time they will use them. there is a lot of black spells down there and you'll never come out the same if you dont know how to protect yourself against them. there is a lot of hexes andblack magic down there.
I stll love the place though.
no sadly i have never heard of anything like that before
another city that has catacombs is london the have a lot of them and i plan on going there and see some of them and i understand they have some in new orleans that i would like to explore
Well there are catacombs in Paris too....and in a lot of middle eastern countries also :)
The road trip sounds like fun. I wold love to look at the catacombs anywhere.
Now, London is a city I didn't realise there was catacombs in! How exciting, well perhaps it was a medivial mandate to have them?
Just found a link to come interesting pictures of the catacombs in London...

I know there are catacombs throughout the world but I didnt find anything in colorado. This has been an interesting read though.
there is probbaly all kinds of them we just have not found them yet
To think I used to live in CO. heheh. Once I visit that state again, I will check it out.
That is interesting. I have never heard of any stories about catacombs in Colorado. If anyone finds any information on this I hope they post the link
"There is a pyromaniac...in the catacombs of Rome..."
-Armageddon Dildos
It's interesting that there are ancient catacombs in Pueblo, Colorado...but they would of course predate Anton's church by several centuries. Blaming them for the sacrifices...would be like blaming a '09 Chevy Impalla for an auto accident back in 1964.
There is an extensive cave network under Nottingham, England. You can visit it underneath the Castle and also the main shopping centre. Many people used to live in these caves and they were used for many other purposes such as store rooms, dye works and brewing.
The local stone is just right for this kind of construction.
However, tunnels also exist in many other cities in the UK but have lain defunct for many years as they serve no purpose.
When I was in Rome, last. I visited the catacombs and excavations taking place underneath the Vatican City...
it was pretty amazing...
I have never seen catacombs anywhere and I had my share of moving around alot so being said this is the first time I ever heard of these things
I once saw on a TV program a few years ago that there where catacombs such as this in France underneath Paris,I'm but I can't remember any other details other than the catacombs went every where in Paris.
