Who here heard of, read of, saw, listened to Sylvia Browne? If you have, what do you think of her? Have you read any of her books? DO you think shes the real deal?

yes i must admit when my mom says she is going to appear on the montel williams show i do sit and watch, she is a very intresting women i enjoy watching her predictions.

Once in a while she comes and does a reading in front of an audience in my city. I always try to get tickets to see her.. Sometimes she's dead on and other times I think she makes stuff up.. I guess it's just hit or miss..

my mom likes her alot, i think shes pretty neat myself. my mom has read some of her books she said that they were interesting.

yeah, i have watched her a couple of times. i do believe in the ability...if the audience is not pre planned that is. it seems as though she really knows things and helps solve heart breaking mysteries!

i was thinking of saving up some cash to send my mom to have a private reading by her. my mom believes she can predict. it would be good for her to get out and do that.

*Rubs Chin* I bet, everyone who thinks she is 'Gifted' reads horoscopes too.. right? There might be 'gifted' people who can predict certain events, but i can tell you one thing for sure!!! They are not appearing on TV shows and writing books baout it! If someone has been blessed with such a gift, they will be very reluctant to use it, if they can really predict the furute of other people, would you want to tell someone that they will marry, have kids, and then watch them die in a nasty accident.... I agree with Dhampir. As one who is "Gifted", as you might say, I can tell you that there is no way I am going to tell anyone their future. It is not my place to influence someone else's destiny. And I have NEVER done a reading for money. I would not do that. Gifts are given to people, not to be exploited, used to gain monetary items, but to help people.

As far as Sylvia Browne, sure, she might just have something. But, I could also stand in a crowded room and say "I'm seeing a transition in someone's life. A great loss." And about half the people would raise their hands. OK. Narrow it down a bit..."A red car, I see a red car"...narrows it down to two...Enie menie minie mo...Pick one...

i dont think anyone has abilities like this yet.though it might be starting to kick in and work but i believe in the future as the human race evloves we will get the abillities.

right now we dont use alot of our brain, but as time goes on we will use more and more of it. but it wont happen in our life time.

Since I read tarot and am a professional psychic, giving reads on a site twice a week, for several years now, and have been into all of this, astrology, etc., for almost 25 years, I am giving my humble opinion.

I believe she is real, along with many other psychics, mediums, and the like, with abillities...John Edward, etc.
Just because you do not personally subsribe to that other worldly area of our dimension, does not void it's existance.

What most do not realize is that psychics are not 100% all the time. In fact, only about 70%. They are not gods, just people with abilities to pick up on subtle vibrations all around us, at all times. It is unfortunate that most are too closed to sense them, such as sensitives...the ability to receive messages from guides, higher self. Sometimes the messages are unclear, because contrary to popular belief, it doesn't work like Charmed, Buffy, Practical Magic and Bewitched. The messages are more like fast flashes of snapshots in the mind or symbolism, intense feelings of an emotion, and to decipher that sometimes is quite tricky.

Now, with say, astrology, something I've studied for a very long time, there is much more to it, than the sun sign. You have all the planets involved, and a sign in each--this includes sun and moon signs. You have an ascendant, and you have a decendant. You have solar and lunar returns. You have aspects, that involved degrees by where your planets are placed in your chart. You have the midheaven in your chart, and you have 12 houses, in which all of this is placed. It is all very exact and mathmatical....and deemed a science. Those who do not believe it's accuracy, should indeed study it, and would realize how true it is. Ha...and accurate. That's how I find out about how people think, alot of the time. When you do your chart or someone else's, it surely helps you realize your good and not so good points, from the inner and deep level, thus enabling spiritual healing and advancement to begin.

PS--What sucks, though, is these people get caught up in themselves and charge way too much! The information that they recieve shouldn't be reserved for the rich only! Ugh...

I've read a lot of her books, and much of what she says I have found to be believable. Not EvErYthing. What she says about what it's like before we come here, and the other things she explains in her books, I find I am able to find reason in what she comes up with. My grandmother just picked up another one of her books yesterday....they can be addicting.

I can't tolerate her. She has taken Ann Rice's look. She needs to take her foot long fingernails out of her mouth and go on a diet. Thats just my opinion.

Jamie I agree with you 100 %. Its not like the TV shows. When I read tarot or even when I just " get the feeling" its almost as though someone is whispering in my ear and telling me what to say. It can also be a flash or feeling. SOME people are scared to know about the future or even scared of it all together.

Actually its nice to see someone go out in the public and be secure with who they are and dosen't hide in the shadows because of the many people that have said the same thing you have said.

in my opinion? contacting a psychic for every little thing as people do, even in chat rooms, is saying " i can't make decisions by myself". It's pathetic to me when you are too scared to make a choice yourself. I mean, most psychic's are full of it and there to take your money. I don't agree with using your skills to profit. Sure money is neccessary but that isnt what those skills are for. What ever happened going with your own gut feelings? or following your instincts or intuition? I'm sure it's annoying to the real psychic's too.

I've read one of her books. Not quite sure of the title but it was a fiction novel. I don't think she is real. Anyone can predict and Earthquake on a fault line. Anyone can predict a monsoon in the"near future". I think she's full of shit like Nostradamous (sp?) It is a hit or miss thing when trying to predict things. By nostradamous standards we're only supposed to have 48 states right now because California was supposed to fall into the ocean in the year 2000 shortly followed by Florida. Oh and he also predicted that we weren't supposed to have Chickens by 1999. My general opinion is that most psychics are full of shit.

...for those of you who have seen ms. silvia browne in action, you may have taken notice to the various reactions/responses from those she has helped. We know she does it for cash although I have only seen her do it for free as she has been a guest on many shows i.e. montel williams, etc. who for many of which have gotten closure to very deep rooted sorrows in conjuct w/ passed loved ones or her personal opinion for minor or major decissions in thier life which some of you have shunned (as if u never have asked someone for thier opinion or guidance rather a parent, friend or etc. -which might I add, wont have nearly half the insight Silvia may provide)

Yeah,i sit down with my mom and my mawmaw(grandmother)and watch her on M.W. she could be real and it can be a hoax or something.it could lean both ways.i mean u never know if the people that ask the questions or something rehursed it before the show came on and stuff.or she could be real.but i'll admit she's neat!

Her books are interesting, but I haven't formed an opinion about whether or not she is right or wrong because if you phrase it correctly, it will always be right. But I do believe she is the closest thing to real as I have ever seen.

Never meet Sylvia but she has been around for some time now. Mediumship is real however. Some people do have an easier time contacting spirit. And in different ways. My sister has been doing this for years! I myself have many experiance also but not through mediumship. Two weeks ago, my sister and I took a weekend course from James VanPraagh who is also well known. Total fun! Yes. They may be real.

I have to agree with Raven370 here ... "because if you phrase it correctly, it will always be right" I don't know if she's real or not .. I've wathced her on shows, as well as others .. and the key is that yes if any question or statement is phrased correctly the outcome can be exactly what you hoped it to be .. I am familiar with Sylvia Browne although I have not read any of her books. As for being the real deal, I am not entirely sure. I used to watch her when she came on Montel Williams. I would listen to her speak and she would often get very vague. In addition, she stated that Al Gore would run in this last election and Al Gore did not.

But, in her defense, she is only human and can screw up from time to time. In addition, she has not read me yet and so I will have to wait until then.
