A long time ago..before the many wonderful things came to this wonderful abode of ours..we only had ONE (Single and BEGOTTEN) poll...(authored by The Prince of course)

Do vampires exist? Yes No Maybe

NOW, this very day, we have to answer A LOT of things..and MUST scroll down to very bottom to read it...

Yes, some are interesting...BUT..also some are (no offense) unnecessary...(and stupid)

The point is, WE really should THINK before making another poll...and also think if this is necessary...and would be of good use to everyone...

Is it really necessary to ask how many people we eat everyday? or WHAT parts of the body do we eat? or what's OUR favorite sexual position? and even ask what turns us on which includes farm animals..is that REALLY necessary? (no offense..again)

Those things are TOO personal…right?

Reaching the Specter status (Level 12) would mean that we can make a new poll and IT also means that we are responsible enough and of course, wise enough to make them.

It’s BOTH a privilege and an opportunity…

I know this is just like a bad-@s$ editorial, or a bloody comment, and even like those red-inked teachers note that we find at the side of our term papers (with a D minus)

BUT, let this serve as a warning..before the seven Master Vampires and The Prince will press their “happy-little-button” and then *puff* *snap* you know what happens next…

Sorry for this one…I am NOT pointing fingers to anyone..NO..I just felt like voicing out..and getting tired of scrolling down at those polls…

I know for sure that THIS place is infested and is also swarming with intelligent minds…some dangerous..BUT still intelligent…Use them in a good and better way…

We all know where this is heading, ever since Moreish opened up Pandora's box, and asked the question: we need a color of undies poll. I know on a personal basis this knowledge would relieve months of stress and anxiety.

Ah in here lies the problem. With freedom comes a price. How do you stop a beast that has grown to such a monstrous size. I honestly barely vote any more. Since it takes too long and some polls are the same just worded different. The only time I do vote is when something strikes me as interesting on the actual side bar here not in the polls.

I must agree that there are to many pointless polls but then I am not even able to create one on my level and thank goodness for the forsight on the designers part for that one. I honestly could not handle a poll for what do you do after school A) Watch MTV
B) Watch MTV2
C) Play video games
or D) Just hang out.

I agree that there should be standards and taste above all else. Especially since young ones are about here as well. I would hate for a parent to freak about what their kid voted for here.

Now that we realize the problem now how do we fix it that is really the hard part. Glad I am on this side.

I like stupid polls
but then I also have filled out over 1800 on other sites for no other purpose of doing.

Rather than eliminate perhaps something like auto delete after 3 months closed time...

I agree with you man BUT sometimes hell its good to you know have a erm "relaxed" poll you know jus a lil harmless fun really and there not dangerous jus a lil annoying and the intelligent minds you look can be found in the threads as well as the forum i do think there are too many relaxed polls but hey ppl got a lot of questions lol but i do agree with you just not 100%

I think CHaos has a point about a 'relaxed' poll... but with so many different people here, all with a different definition of relaxed.... :-S

Things often get a bit silly, and i personally dont appreicate it. I also agree with DeadLocke, that some polls dont even give oyu the informaiton in which to make an unbiased vote... all are the same answer worded differently!

I have fantasized about a color of your underware poll. Straw polls are fun and serve no useful purpose and are perfect for underware questions. Anonymous and completely useless :)

The reason i don't do polls is because everytime i vote for one that is a zero, it NEVER changes to a 1. I think something is wrong with some of the polls.

I agree that some questions being brought up isn't really of my own interest, but that doesn't mean it's not for someone else. I think that if one closes a thread or something, should at least be nice about their reason for doing so. I remember one being closed not too long ago but the way it was closed was said a bit too harsh for a newbie, and this makes people think twice about this place. It makes them feel like they shouldn't post at all for fear of the click. People should feel they can ask a question without the fear of being ridiculed by others for their type of thread. It's really being closed by one's own "judgement". I'm not trying to start anything by saying so, but it's from my own observation of things. Some threads are a little off like tarquin said but i think the threads should be closed with a fair reasoning without sounding harsh.

Levels should be raised for people to post and do polls ect.... A person needs to walk before they can run!

The Polls section needs a lot of work. It's also a low priority section, so it will be a while until it's all fixed up.

When I first launched it, I was heavily monitoring new polls (editing and deleting). I've let it go, and now you see the result.

This is why VR is moderated to a degree.

I boycotted polls back in February for many of the same reasons stated, here. I'm not going to restate any of it because I said my piece concerning polls in my Journal a while back.

I will admit a good poll is definantly worth the time. However alot of them here are not.

The poll issue, like the forum topics, is a hard one...as, what may be fun for one person, would be the equivalent of having teeth pulled, for another.

We all want everyone to have a good time, here, yes? But at the same time, can't let it's beauty be contorted by ramblings.

Since it is Cancer's site, it is ultimately his decision what he wants on here and what he does not.

I like to see different polls, as in lighthearted ones, occasionally. I mean, how many ways can you ask if you drink blood or the best vampire movie, etc.? We do have broader horizons than that, yes? We do have other interests, yes?

I think it's possible to stay close to the Vamp/paranormal/other worldly lines. But I don't think it's right, though, to publicly put down somebody's thread. That hurts feelings, and is cruel. If you don't like it, move on to one you do. Mama should have taught you that.

I didn't see this thread.So one of my polls was about which you like the best pvc,etc... but wasn't a personal question I just did it for fun.The others were vampire and paranormal questions since am a big fan of the paranormal.

But before they were gone,we could close our polls so I began to close the old ones until I closed them all.So anyone could close them,if they weren't popular!

I know, and you have some very interesting points in the Forum. However, often new members sart threads about totaly unrelated and personal things and put t in the main discussion forum, and it will probably happen with polls too, i.e. whats your favourite colour and all that tripe.

if the polls come back, maybe the admins can RIA or RIP the unecessary ones like they do in the forum?

the admins didn't just close (or RIP) the polls if they were (ahhh) TOO useless and senseless..they would (the admins) EXTERMINATE them!

I haven't read the polls in forever. I found most of them to be useless and not even worth answering. All the sexual ones (within reason) made me a lil umm peeved. It just got to the point where I didn't even feel the answering them. Maybe if I see an interesting poll I will answer but, until then. I just forget about them.

My question is who are we to decide what one person should think is an interesting enough question to ask? If you don't like a poll that someone starts then just skip over it. It's that simple. Same thing with the forum. If you don't like a thread, don't respond.

Well, honestly I'm not pointing fingers or anything but I can't help but feel like other members are trying to throw their weight around and say that their opinion is more important than anyone else's. Maybe I'm wrong and if I am, then I certainly do apologize for any offense, but I don't see the point in this. For all those members in the US, you know we have a right to freedom of expression and those rights are extended to the internet. I just don't see how any of this is fair.
