I’m going to start this thread with a copy and paste of my journal entry I made this afternoon on this topic.
Title:
Who’s bright idea was THIS SHIT??
The State of New York is in a lil' but o trouble this week.
Apparently they're allowing convicted sexual predators to receive Viagra through Medicaid and Medicare (state insurances).
Of the almost 200 convicted offenders that received the drug in the past year (intended to enhance sexual performance in aging... otherwise "unable" males) a near 175 of them were on a list compiled for offenders most likely to commit their previous crimes... AGAIN.
Who's bright f*ckin' idea was this?
I understand these men have served their time and they are not receiving this medication WHILE incarcerated... but for f*cks sake people.
If a sex offender can't get it up on his own... I do not see this as an outstanding problem that tax-payers... people whose wives, husbands, sons and daughters were accosted by these so called 'men'... should pay for.
I know New York can be a confusing town...
But WHAT THE F*CK, PEOPLE.
So there’s my journal entry, kids.
Feel free to find links regarding the story and post them here. We all know *I* can’t work a hyper-link to save my rotten little soul… O_o
My question that I pose to you, as the hopefully INTELLEGENT reader… is this:
Do you think these men should, having served their time for their crime, be given the ability to take this medication?
If so, do you think that the tax payers they were once separated from for their crimes should pay for it? Should it not be covered by medical insurance AT ALL for these specific denizens of society? Gems of the gene pool… as it were.
Or is it your theory that they should outright be denied access to sexually performance enhancing drugs/agents?
(Note to Admins: This thread posted with permission from ElderDaniel.)
I know that if you have served your time you are supposed to be allowed to do what you like...... within the constraints of the law of course...and having a medical condition is not against the law so in theory these guys have as much right as the next poor guy to receive this medication ....however ....the part of me that has been on the recieving end of a rather brutal sexual attack tells me that these guys should not be allowed to take it, as will enable them to carry out their favoured offence against society...(oh yeah and this is also the part of me that believes in an eye for an eye...lol...)...to me it is like giving someone who has served time for counterfeiting the tools and equipment to start up their own printing business...don't tell me for one second at least they are not going to be tempted to break the law again only this time they will do it better as they have to tools to succeed and be in 'business' for longer so to speak.....(couldn't think of a better analogy...but I think ya should get the idea... :).........)
Okay I was in a good mood before I read this 'K'.....now I am hoppin mad....LOL
I agree Sunshine.... It's kinda like adding fuel to the fire. But if the system says they've served thier time, there isn't really anything that can be done. They're like normal citizin's again. As unfair as that is.....
Wtf! no no and no!!!!!!!!!that's not fair wtf man who had this 'brillant' idea?and then people should pay for these 'men' to commit more crimes?the same people who harm was done to them or to their loved ones?hell no!
Yea, I read this in the Daily New, The Post and Newsday.
LOL.......what a way to spend my taxes.
I say give them whatever medication they want as long as they pay triple for it. lol It should not be allowed for them to take that kind of medication, much less on the taxpayers dime. That is a bunch of crap.
OMG!!!!!
THis is true?
And why do people still make fun of New Jersey........
We lock up our Sexual Criminals and keep them locked up!
Uh hell the f**k no.I know they served their time but they'd have to bring in whoever they were screwing, blood test from the person, signed documentation to the fact, the person's fingerprint and any damn thing else i could come up with before they could get that.
Time for some reality here....................
Let's just say a Amber alert went out on a child(your child),they're gone for days and this fuck has them and gets to TAKE HIS TIME GOING TO THE STORE TO BUY SOME DAMN PILLS SO HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS TO A THEM CUZ WE CAN HOLD A HRAD ON FOR UP TO 4 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!NO NO NO NO FUCKING NO CUT THEIR DAMN DICKS OFF AND FEED IT TO THEM WHILE IT'S STILL WARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hmmmm
well this i'm sorry to say is a tough one for me....
I feel that they ought to have to pay for it themselves......but as to restircting it....that would depend on each individual case....there are many reasons other than just being a sick twisted fuck that ppl commit some crimes.....one notable case I know of due to a frind going through an abnormal psych course involves a man who was exposing himself after finding his father had cancer.....apparently this mixed with a few other trauma's in his life kicked oof a chemical imbalance which was cured through medication.....
but that is just one case......
I hate the idea as much as the next person....but I also always try to look at both sides of a given issue.....
what type of sex crime....what caused it....is it treatable....these sorts of things...after that then you can get more specific in condemnation.....
but i do feel that at that point the taxpayers should not have to pay for it as it it not a medication required for continuance of life.....but I feel that way also about non criminals in viagra
That's true as well, but if they have been in the system they should've gotten some type of treatment and i know not all of them get it but as a parent i can't accept it........you hurt a child YOU HURT A CHILD and in that way i will not excuse for any reason, a child is not sexually amture enough to take any kind of penetration and i mean what sicko is attracted to a child.......it baffles me
Giving a rapist viagra... WTF!!!! First of all, I, nor anyone else, should have to pay for it. And if they're going to do that to innocent people... they should be able to get it up on their own. If they can't, then that's their problem. Not mine.
actually she was not specifying child abusers....but anyone in the system for what is rated as a sex crime....
and actually very few ppl in jails are given any sort of actual treatment for the reasons they are there......modern jails are little more than warehouse facilities where the govt puts ppl to forget about them till they are on the streets again....
that was a major problem I had with the system when I was in a while back.....there is no therapy/treatment/or push to educate those who are in jails.....
simply give them downers to keep them calm and forget about them unless they cause problems.....you really have to have been in the system to understand the futility of it in any actual amount
there is so much more that could be done....
You're right but in reality everyone has a parent and everyone is someone's child,a sex crime is a sex crime. Now the ones that got screwed over cuz of some ass who changed their mind well........ them other ones i don't care who you are you have no right to put your hands on someone and force someone to have sex with you(personal space damnit).
Ok ... now for my peace ... as we all know in reading my past posts to certain threads .. I have always uhmm for lack of a better word championed those few souls wrongly accused ... I have my reasons to which a few who "know' me will either read about or know ... anyhoo ... first things first ... NO I whole heartedly agree ... criminals who served their time should not receive any kind of government funding to get a drug like this ... HOWEVER ... I do not agree with the ideal’s here that they should not be allowed to take something such as Viagra ... hear me out before you jump down my throat ... I say this because I am probably one of the few who do believe that SOME people can be reformed ... I also say this because there truly are a lot of good women who have stood by and supported a man when he was down and when released make a good union out of it, and if the man is of that age or state of being that he can't get it up for some reason, then, as stated in Pandora's post ... certain things should be made mandatory in order for a prescription to be given for it. I don't feel it's right to refuse a man and woman their rights as a couple (and I feel that marriage should be a stipulation or requirement to get the prescription) to have a sex life together.
Now having said my peace there I would also like to add something here ... in certain states it is now mandatory for criminal's released after serving their time and being on probation that they must take a certain drug that interferes with the mans desire to have sex, and his ability, I forget the exact name of it, I would have to find certain papers .. but when I looked it up, it is the same as what is in the woman's Depo Provera shots ...
Dont you love the way that we dont even pay taxes, ha get your pay check moneys gone!!!! thats not a payment thats a 'jack', i dont think they should be given anything of the sort
i find it sad myself for if you commit a crime with a gun or even any other felony your no longer able to have a frearm so why give them drugs
ahhhh..the world has A LOT of new things...this one's NOT good..
A sex offender is a sex offender. If they can't get it up, then good for society. Why should they be given, instead of paying for, a drug to help them. NO the population of tax payers should not have to pay for this. And the laws need to be changed in order to keep this from happening elsewhere, if it is not already. Why give them the means to commit the same offense again? They should all be fixed to where they never have sexual urges again. That is what will help society.
That's a tough question. I could swing either way on this... Some offenders after serving their time, probably know better than to do their crime over again. Then there are those who would jump at the chance to hurt someone again. There are also those small few whom that where accused, were in fact innocent... This could go either way, and I'm not sure which side I would take...
I always believe in second chances, so i say it is okay till they mes up again
well i'm glad that a few others have pointed out possible false acusation inmates......which is far more common than most of you know.....and I mean this by the number of people who quietly get thousands of dollars worth of false imprisonment settlements that nobody hears about...not just the ppl who say they never did it.....but irregardless.....I feel that this type of drug has NO good use being government funded for anyone.....ex-con or not.....it is like someone getting a nose job on my tax dollar.....it is unnecessary to health and life.....andf therefore should be paid for by the user
hell I am on mads for chronic depression....and i have to pay for them.....and don't complain about paying for them either......
Mnay crimes there is room for compassion and understanding such as murder robbery e.t.c
But sexual predators to recieve an aid in their crime (you would not give a burgalor a skeleton key would you??) I think it is wrong and should not be done.Medical aid maybe for normal conditions ut the fact that these "men" are unable to perform is natures own justice and to sum up the whole point I agree with Khayman this is very very VERY wrong
there are factors to consider but generally i would say this is a big no no. for example in the state of florida there like over 50 sex ofenders who are 20 years old that ended up sleeping with the 18 year old under age girl that snuck in the club and the like. so those guys with that kind of story i feel sorry for. but the other people i mean come on giving them that how does that help any case. and the thing is making tax payers pay for it?? GOD. wow my money is bieng put to very good use i see
I may be jinxing this thread by saying so but oh well...
You all have no idea how pleased I am to see people actually posting in this.
To Sunshine: I'm sorry this seems to have struck a little too close to home for you. You know I love ya and it was not my intent to bring about bad memories for ANYONE. :-*
I was fully expecting to see, after my day off yesterday, that this thread be on the third or foruth page back... fully confirming my thoughts that it indeed requires more intelligence than "What's your favorite color?"
Soo.. with that... whaddaya know... there ARE adults with thinking minds on this site...
HOT DAMN.
Adults with thinking minds? YES.
A Virginian that can type correctly? Apparently not. :|
FOURTH*
So it's okay to allow sexual predators to continue with their fantasies?
What next?
"Hey you're a mass murderer. Here's a gun and my best friend. Have fun" ?
Anyone think society is a bit screwed up?
Giving concvicted sex offenders that kinda pill, is absolutly preposterous!! Sex offenders should be locked up for good and then throw away the keys to that perverts cell!
i think sexual offenders should be allowed the drugs, but i do not think it should be covered by medicare, for them or for anyone else. it is not a very important medicine, and if you are having problems getting your dick to work then you should have to pay for that yourself. its not a life threating or if bad condition. it just sucks for the person and/or the person they want to fuck.
hehe you can thank me for dragging it out of forums hell khay lady.....
and it really doesn't surprise me to hear about those guys who are 20 going to jail because of a girl sneaking into a bar...
I went to school with an18 yr old guy who went away for the same thing
i agree with sunshine on that point...
like if a man, who was jailed bcoz he was driving too fast, was offered a ford GT or a ferrari... paid with taxes!!
that's a crazy idea!
and even 4 anyone, such a car is like a lux to me, one can live happy wthout it!
taxes should b spared 4 live/death health question!
where i live is soo poor we care about the country not coing BOOM.. we don't talk about things like in NY or NJ
** NEWS FLASH ON THIS TOPIC **
I heard in the news this morning that Viagra can cause a some men to go mostly... if not completely blind.
Though my sentiments are not intended for those fellows who are good upstanding citizens...
The one's who are convicted VIOLENT SEX OFFENDERS... not just the 19 year old who got caught with his 16 year old girlfriend... the main topic of this debate in the public forums here and in the rest of the USA are rapists... child molesters and the sort...
I find this a fitting end.
You may be able to get it up due to the states idiocy (Virginia has pulled all state funding of the drug for violent sex offenders)... but you wont be able to see you're intended target.
That I find humorous and rather fitting. :)
I can't believe that the state would even THINK about funding some kind of drug to make a repeated sex offended keep a stiffy! I really find that rather disturbing. Why should they have to pay for someone to walk around with this kind of meds?!?! I don't think it should be funded for ESPICALLY if they are a repeat offender. I mean come on now. .. isn't that basically saying.. " we the people want to give you our money so you can walk around with a chubby and do it again?"
Khayman, don't worry about the typing...this Virginian will have more typos than you ever will....also I have been reading and watching in the background....I think that all sex offenders should be made public knowledge....how else can we protect our our own....the laws that are in place should be a lot tougher than they are.....here is a site that can identify violent sex offenders for Virginia...
http://sex-offender.vsp.state.va.us/Static/Search.htm
now this is for ONLY violent sex offenders...
hope other states have this in place....
That was the worst thing that could have ever happened... It discusts me...
*~Gylanah~*
It is not just New York, by the way. After reading this thread, I did some research and found out that here in Missouri they just decided to no longer allow viagra to be bought by sex offenders in this state using welfare to pay for it. If they want it in this state they must pay out of pocket for it.
Oh believe me I know it isn't just the state of New York.
Virginia had 50-some on their lists.
New York just got popped with it first.
Poor sods...
