has anyone else tried to learn a language that was...kind of out there? i spent time learning how to speak drow (dark elf) that was time consuming but it was worth it. let me know
I learned german and latin. I know it's not usual but it was a good goal to meet in my life.
Almost.

yeah tolkein is rather difficult. keep trying though. and as for latin and german they are both challenging and latin is pretty unusual now a days. good work!
I learned a little klingon from star trek but never went very far with it. It dose'nt seem to be a very popular language, but it sounds neat. I would love to be able to speak aremeic since it is a lost and dead language.

The best language to learn to speak is the one that is unspoken.

Ya know vamps and weres have a language of their own too. I've seen dragon spirits speak their own language as well.
I did remember that "lakema" means goodbye in Were (lycanthropes)
well i'm learning latin and i can speak in grunts with my friends, people give you funny looks when your grunting and pointing at stuff and other people
Sadly, I'm trying to learn Quenya and Sindarin from Tolkien's novels just so that I can create a language of my own. Tolkien tried to imagine how a language would change from its inception to the modern time. Because the language I am trying to create is not the original language, but what the language has evolved into, Tolkien is the best choice so far. There's also Olde English, Middle English, and Modern English which I'm looking at just to try and figure out how it evolved. It's pretty hard to say the least.
Ettrikin can teach me Tolkein. That's the only way I would learn a weird language. Teach me teach me!!

I had to take Spanish for four years. I want to learn Italian, I know a couple words from German from listening to Rammstein, and I know a little Lithuanian but I've forgotten all of that I knew practically. I don't know any interesting languages though, I wanted to learn elven, but I never really tried.
